Chapter 7 Spell Shop

Lexi pov

I wake up, and I feel strange, like I’m sensing my wolf more than normal. I check my bracelets, none of them are damaged but they aren’t working to suppress my wolf anymore. I will have to create more to suppress my power, especially now I have those wolves trying to find me. I check my supplies but I’m missing some weed root but the only place I can get that is the magic supply store, it is always risky going there, but it has to be done.

I get dressed in my comfy jeans, a tank, and a hoodie, get a list of the supplies I need and head to the magic supply store. I make it to the store; it looks like a bath and body shop, but instead of soap and shampoo, its potions and spell ingredients in jars and bottles. I grab a basket and start grabbing everything I need, herbs and charms. The only thing I’m missing is the weed root. I’m looking high and low on the shelves, trying to keep a low profile when I sense a shift in the air. I push that feeling down and look up to see it high on the shelf near a ladder. I climb the ladder and grab the jar of weed root. It looks like beetroot but instead of purple it a bright yellow. As I climb down, I lose my footing and start to fall when, all of a sudden, I’m cradled in strong arms.

His smell hits me and smells like cherry and a strong musk. I looked up at the face of the man holding me. He is clean shaven, with bright blue eyes and his hair is tied back, showing his handsome face. I’m stunned. I cannot move; he slowly places me on the ground as I try and get my footing. “Thank you for catching me” I say as I place the weed root in my basket. I didn’t wait for him to say anything and tried to rush away as quickly as I could.

“wait, can I help you find anything else, what spells are you trying to create, if you are a wolf?” he says. My wolf is pushing through that hard now that he can sense my wolf! I might need to double my next charm, but first I must get out of here. I said “oh… uh… no I just need a few things and I have them now”. He said“what’s your name? Mine is Nic”, without thinking, I replied “Lexi, thanks again for catching up, but I really have to go”, heading to the register to pay for my stuff.

I load it quickly onto the counter as the lady at the counter starts adding up my total. “OK if I cannot help you with your spell, would you come to lunch with me” he says as he comes up to the counter with me. What is happening? Have I triggered some hot guy attraction spell? Where are they coming from? I said “Oh no, I have to get back”. The girl behind the counter looks at Nic and says “your highness, is there anything I can help you with”. Your highness, wait, he is a royal. I definitely have to get out of here now.

What is a royal sorcerer doing in a spell shop? I threw my money on the counter, grabbed my things and ran out of there. Luckily, I brought another transporter charm with me. As I round the corner, I throw it down and transport my way out of there. I made sure this one didn’t go straight home just in case he tried to follow me.
