It took several days for me to recover. Even though I was released from the hospital, Gage took care of me in the new apartment. I tried not to be a bother as much as I could, but Gage insisted that I take it easy whenever I could. "How are you feeling today?" He asked as I ate breakfast on the fifth day. I took a moment to evaluate. "I feel fine," I said, slightly surprised. I had been sore and aching every day. My instincts had returned to normal a couple of days after the incident. Gage stood from his place at the table and walked over to me. He checked my wrist, which had healed up just fine. The marks were gone as well. He checked the back of my head, but the bump had gone down with some ice. Then he tilted my chin back and inspected my neck. The marks had taken a long time to heal.
