The next day, I didn't have to face Derek because I wasn't working there luckily that day. I was dreading seeing him again after all of that. The mark on my neck faded away quickly as well. So when I was faced with going back to that store the day after, I felt dread in my stomach. I knew I could report him. That he would be punished for such a thing and I would be protected.
