As she pulled back to slap my other cheek, a hand grabbed her wrist as I tried to step back and avoid her. We both looked at Gage as he glared harshly at her. Instantly she smiled brightly.
"Gage!" She squealed in joy and Gage gave her a look of disgust. Her smile deflated slightly at that. "What's wrong? Aren't I pretty? Your dad said I would make the perfect girlfriend for you." Gage released her wrist with a slight shove and she took a step back.
"I don't care what my father told you. I decide who I date and when. I didn't choose you and I never will." She frowned deeply and she looked at me.
"Why? Because you would rather be with this?" She gestured to me and Gage stepped between us.
