EPISODE 34- CLASH AND FEAR

The guards of the village were now marching in the forest, which leads to the mountain where the cave was located. The guards were able to know the location thanks to Lucy who acted swiftly during her battle against the dark crawlers. The guards were even talking about it, as they navigate the forest.

“Wow, that girl was able to put tracking charm in one of the crawlers.” Spoke one of the guards as he looked at Lucy who was leading them.

“But who would've thought that our enemy and the kidnapped girls were just near our village.” Spoke another guard.

Karl who was walking alongside Lucy and David spoke. “Thank you, Lucy, I will surely pay you back for this.”

Lucy with her expressionless face looked at Karl and said these words, “You don't have to pay me back, Karl. Those two are my friends and a valuable group member, so it's also my responsibility to help them.”

David who was just listening to the two spoke, “I hope Mr. Destroyer would come sooner, with our current power we may not have a chance.” He then turned to the village chief who was wearing a black-clad chest plate and carried a spear with him.

“Village Chief Caleb, I didn't know you possess a mastery of the spear arts.” Spoke David as he focused his looked at Caleb's spear.

“So you already noticed it, but to tell you, David, I'm really not that good. I only know the basics and I do not know any of the advanced skills.”

“But still you mastered that spear, Chief Caleb?”

“Yes, but let's change the topic a bit.”

“Sure,” replied David to Chief Caleb.

“This Destroyer guy, you are talking about is he that strong. Bella and your party seem to think highly of him, so I wanted to know if he really is powerful.”

“His an F-rank adventurer.”

“Wait F-rank!?! Then why did Bella even requested the assistance of a lower rank adventurer.”

“He may be an F-rank chief, but his power and skills could kill a Megasaurus all by himself.”

Village chief Caleb then had a surprised expression on his face after hearing David. He then turned to look at David and spoke, “M-megasaurus… you mean this Destroyer guy, is the man that defeated that calamity with his pet electric monkey.”

“Electric pet monkey, I don't know that, but mister Destroyer was really the one who defeated the Megasaurus.”

“How do you know that David?” asked the village chief as he had a look of disbelief pointed towards David.

“I know, cause our party participated in that quest, and we saw it with our two own eyes. I'm actually both happy and mad that we know Destroyer. But that's another story, village chief.”

As they were continuing their march towards the cave one of the guards suddenly yelled, causing them to stop. They then looked at the guards who have screamed and saw crawlers approaching.

“Everyone combat formation! We can not die here yet as our mission isn't finished yet!” yelled Caleb. The guards immediately formed into groups and prepared to clash with the crawlers approaching them.

But as they prepared suddenly an ominous atmosphere appeared causing them to feel fear. Lucy who felt the aura spoke to Karl, “Do you feel that?”

“Of course I do, it's very powerful, but this is better, we could use this aura to search the cave you are talking about.” Karl then looked at the village chief and yelled, “Hey Chief! The three of us will go to the cave, so please hold these crawlers for us. ”

The village chief then went to a combat stance and replied, “No problem, just hurry up and find those girls.”

“Thanks, Chief,” spoke Karl as he took off with Bella and David.

After seeing the three-run, Caleb immediately joins his men in battle. Caleb dashes forward the crawlers, preparing to thrust his spear to a crawler who has caught one of his men off guard.

The crawler was penetrated by Caleb's spear just in time when the crawler was about to attack his men. The guard immediately looks at Caleb and says his thanks. But Caleb yelled, “DON'T TAKE OFF YOUR EYES ON THE ENEMY!”

“Y-yes Sir!”

The guards and the crawlers then started clashing in the forest. However, some crawlers were smart enough to avoid the conflict and chase after the three adventurers. But as the crawlers chased was stopped by Caleb, who was wielding his spear perfectly. The unfortunate crawlers were stabbed by Caleb and were sent back to the battlefield.

Caleb then yelled at the crawlers even knowing that these creatures don't understand human language. “You have to go through me and my spear, vile creatures if you want to chase after those three.”

The creatures then gave off an enraged screech after hearing Caleb. They then started to crawl towards Caleb, but to only meet with a powerful thrust with his spear. “You have to do better than that if you want to pass.”

David, Karl, and Lucy were now coming near the cave's entrance as they felt the ominous presence become stronger and stronger, as they continue to move forward. Until they found the cave, they then immediately spotted five crawlers that were guarding the entrance. The three then stopped and hide themselves behind a bush.

They then observe the crawlers guarding the entrance. But they immediately noticed something weird about the crawlers, but they were able to decipher the weird feeling they are getting from the crawlers. The answer was just simple, the power of the crawlers in front of them was far superior.

David then looked at his comrades and asked, “So what's the plan now? Were completely outnumbered and those things are more powerful than the crawlers we fought before.”

“Sneaking is not an option,” spoke Lucy. This caused both Karl and David to asked, “Why!?!”

Lucy then pointed her index finger at the crawlers who was smiling. Lucy then explained to the two, “They have already found us, they're just not really showing us any interest. Because they think we are too weak to even scathe them.”

David then gave the creatures an irritated look and yelled, “What!?! So those monsters are insulting us!” David then walks out of their hiding place with his sword drawn. “How dare you insult me, you filthy creatures!” yelled David as he points his sword at the crawlers.

Karl and Lucy also come out of hiding with their weapons already drawn. The crawlers then looked at the three with bloodlust and a mocking look. But the creatures mocked the three even further as they started to laugh.

“How disgraceful a monster laughing at a knight, I can not allow my honor to be crushed by these fools,” spoke Karl. David also followed, “I know right!”, Lucy also said, “I'll slice them up to pieces.”

After that Karl instantly used a skill to attack the crawlers, “Dash!” Karl suddenly appeared in the middle of the crawler catching the crawlers off guard. He then followed up with another skill, “Vacuum!” suddenly a magic circle appeared on the ground and sucked the crawlers towards Karl.

But Karl bashed his tower shield as the creatures were absorbed towards him, causing the crawlers to hit their heads and making them stunned.

David who was rushing towards the crawlers singer his sword on the creatures guarding the cave. Which were now packed together, It was thanks to Karl's crowd control skill.

In one swing David was able to hit three of the crawlers slicing them in half, David only stopped to swing his sword when he hit Karl's shield. The two remaining crawlers were then taken care of by Lucy.

Lucy slice the heads of the two remaining stunned crawlers, which head has now fallen on the ground. “I thought these guys were powerful, but it only took us a few seconds to kill these bastards.” Spoke David as he cleans the blood off his sword.

“Let's hurry up and go inside,” yelled Karl. David and Lucy followed what Karl said. But as they took a step inside the cave, Lucy suddenly turned around and yelled, “They're still alive!”

“What!?!” screamed Karl and David, as they turned around and saw the crawlers attaching their body parts together.

The crawlers sliced body parts went back to their original place quickly, after the parts reattached the crawlers immediately stood up. The crawler then glared at the three with utmost rage.

Karl then spoke as he gazes at the creatures.“Looks like it takes more time before we kill these guys. But we can't stay too long here, have you felt it too right?”

“Yes, the evil dwelling inside this cave has become more powerful.” Answered Lucy as she looks behind the cave.

“Then let's not waste any more time,” yelled David as he dashes forward the crawlers. Karl and Lucy immediately followed after him. However, the creatures reacted by backing away from the attacks of the three.

David who has tried his skill dash again, to do another crowd control attempt immediately ended in failure as the crawlers separate from each other as David gets close to them.

“Looks like they got smarter!” spoke David as he chases the other crawlers.

Karl then spoke, “then this will be bad if we don't finish this as soon as possible. But the problem is that they won't fall to the same trick again. ”

Lucy who has sliced one of the crawlers was becoming frustrated, as she saw the crawler she had sliced just reconnects its body parts. Even how many times Lucy cuts the crawler it just keeps coming back.

David looked at the creatures with a murderous gaze, he then spoke. “These monsters are annoying, at this rate we might not be able to save…”

Karl immediately cuts off David's speech, “No! We will definitely save Bella, Marcia, and the other girls!”

But as the three were busy standing and observing the crawlers. The five crawler guards then started to move towards each other and started to merge together. These cause the three to become confused but they know that something very dangerous was unfolding in their front.

“Shouldn't we do something about this,” asked David as he gazed at the five crawlers who were almost completely merged into one being.

After a few seconds, the crawler finally merged into one being. It was standing seven feet high, what the creature formed in front of them was a bigger version of a crawler. However, the size wasn't the only change, the power was also higher than the five crawlers separated.

Karl immediately reacted by dashing toward the bigger crawler. He then used his skill “Bash,” which hits the enemy with his shield. But the attempt of Karl ended in failure as the creature did not get affected by the skill. David then came behind Karl, with one of his skill.

“Why don't you have a taste of this you monster, Heavy s***h!” David's sword then hit the monster on its torso, but he was not able to cut through. This caused David to pull his sword and retreat a few feet away from the creature.

David then spoke after reaching a safe distance, “Damn your body is hard,” However, David showed a smile and added, “but you should also watch your back, monster.”

Lucy suddenly appeared behind the monster, she was near the neck of the giant crawler. She then used a skill that wrapped her kukri with water, she then slashed the crawler's neck with her knife that was engulfed in water.

Lucy was able to separate the head of the giant crawler. However, when the head got separated, a black shadow of arms that came from the neck chased after the falling head. The arms then pulled the head back to the neck where it separated. It then attaches its head back in just a blink of an eye.

“Hey, its healing is also faster than before, this thing is really troublesome,” spoke David as he aims his sword to the creature.

However, the creature turned around and looked at Lucy who has her guard up. The monster suddenly looked at Lucy with a murderous gaze and yelled, “You b***h! We will kill you, kill you, kill you, kill you! We will Rip you apart eat your innards! ”

“Wait it can speak.”

The monster suddenly dashed forward Lucy with incredible speed. The giant crawler then launched an attack using its claws against Lucy.

Lucy tried to avoid the attack but her speed was too slow, so Lucy was struck down by the monster's attack. This caused her to receive a heavy injury in her stomach and her chest piece to be destroyed. Lucy then retreated, but blood has started to spill out of her body, causing her to lose most of her strength.

However, the monster was able to chase Lucy with another incoming attack. The monster was just a few inches in ending Lucy's life. Because of this, Lucy's expressionless face suddenly showed emotion for the first time. And it was the emotion of fear that she ever showed.

As Lucy finally showed emotion, it was also the first time that she screamed with emotion. The scream was the same with her expression, it had the emotion of fear, “I-I DON'T WANT TO DIEEE!” screamed Lucy as she saw the incoming claw of the beast.
