EPISODE 23- GOOD NEWS

Finally, we have returned back to the town of Leora. The familiar cobblestone roads the stone and wooden houses, the guard office where I was taken to before. I kinda missed being here, well, I can't blame myself this was my second home when I arrived here.

I wonder how is miss Sazar and her daughter Maya doing, maybe I should bring them some skewered meat, I am actually getting paid a lot after killing that beast. But too bad that I wasn't able to collect any materials from the beasts. I could have earned more if I did that.

The carriage finally stopped and the coachman yelled on his seat, “Everyone can get out now!”

We were dropped by the coachmen at the town square. After getting out of the carriage I immediately went straight to the guild. The other adventurers that came to this town also did the same. Most of then had smiles that reached ear to ear, they were probably excited about the pay.

I'm pretty sure it will mostly go down to booze and women in the brothels. Well some of them are actually smart and invested in new equipment, but most of the adventurers here are drunkards, so it will not be surprising if the pubs in the town will be full.

I then arrived at the guild, but along the way, I noticed quite a difference in how people normally react to me. Most of them were now not turning away from me, which might be due to my smaller and least intimidating size. In other words, people started to approach me more often.

I opened the guild's door and entered, I was then greeted by a barmaid working in the guilds pub.

“Welcome! If you are here to drink please take a seat in one of the tables, if you are here to register as an adventurer please just go straight to the counter on the left most corner of the building.”

The barmaid then ignored me, “Wait doesn't she recognize me?” I muttered to myself after seeing the barmaid's reaction.

I then went to claim my reward in the counter, there I saw the familiar face of Ms. Lora, who is still working hard. The line towards the counter was starting to build-up quite a bit, gladly I was one of the first people who lined up, I was the eight people in the line who can claim his reward.

Each person took a while before receiving their payment, as the clerks still counted the gold they were giving, also the amount was higher than normal so counting the coins took more time. After fifteen minutes it was finally my time to get my reward.

When I got in the front, facing Lora she gave me a confused smile before speaking. “I'm sorry sir but this counter is for the adventurers who have participated in the obligatory mission. If you are here to register as an adventurer please move to the left counter near me, if you are here to sell materials please move to the right counter near me.”

Wait, she doesn't realize it's me…of course, I'm such an i***t! I have changed color and size no one would immediately recognize me. I immediately pulled my adventurer's ID and License, I then showed it to Lora.

She was baffled after I showed her my ID and license, “Eh!…ARE YOU SERIOUS!?!” yelled Lora.

She then apologized, “I'm very sorry for this misunderstanding Mr. Destroyer. It's just that I am… confused by your new…how should I say it, new look??”

“It's fine Lora, I think you are not the only one who has this reaction when they see me.”

Lora then leaned forward and observed me closely, locking her eyes at my new thinner body. She then asked me out of nowhere. “How where you able to lose so much weight in just three days? Can you please tell me your diet and work out routine or perhaps your secret in becoming sexy!?! ”

“Wait! Your losing track of what your job really is Lora. Also, could you move a little back, your face is too close.”

Lora suddenly blush from embarrassment and apologized. “Sorry for my rude behavior Mr. Destroyer. It's just…” Lora moved closer towards my ear and whispered. “Well, Mr. Destroyer I am going on a diet in hoping to decrease m-my…weight. ”

I look at here and replied, “I see, but why are you doing that?” Lora started to blush and whispered to my helmet again, “Well I have been gaining weight, I didn't believe it at first, but when I went bath together with my little sister she called me fat!”

“That's all?” I asked her as I turned slightly to speak.

“It's not only that but when I saw myself in the mirror I saw my belly had small flab, then my chest also got bigger than last time. Which indicates that I've clearly gained weight! ”

Wait what the hell is this woman spouting about, now that I am looking at her chest it's actually got a bit bigger than last time. I even used some calculations and compared it to my saved recording of Ms. Lora. I'm not doing this because I'm a p*****t, I'm only doing this for research, to help her in solving her weight problems.

“So can you tell me your secret Mr. Destroyer on how you got thinner? Please! Please!”

She sounds desperate but I can't tell her about my secret abilities, that I magically shrunk down my body. I also can't tell her that I don't know how I got thin I would definitely be caught lying. I hope this works though, I then spoke.

“Well my secret, stop eating too many sweets, desserts, and high-calorie food. Also, you must lose the weight of the food you have eaten by exercising every morning, do it five to six times a week.”

“I see, so I have to stop visiting my favorite cafe then… but… that's one thing I can't do! Their desserts are just too heavenly, I can't just let go of those delicious cakes and cookies.”

“Hey what's taking that guy too long! He's not the only person here Ms. Lora who is getting his payment.” yelled one of the adventurers behind me.

Well, I have been here for some time now, I am really bothering the others with this. “Miss Lora can I just get my reward, I will surely tell you about a secret in losing weight when you have the free time.”

“Really! Then here's your payment Mr. Destroyer, thirty-five thousand gold coins.” She then handed me three big bags and one medium bag, which contained the coins.

I then looked at her, but she actually got the message on my stare. “Well, we were told by the guilds manager to already separate your payment from the others. Wait, before I forget here, this is a letter that came from the capital.”

I immediately grabbed the letter that Lora gave me, after putting it inside my inventory I immediately thanked Lora and walked away. As I was walking away from the line, a familiar voice suddenly called me.

“Hey Kiddo,” hearing this I knew who it was, so I turned to the direction of the voice and saw old man Razor.

“What is it, old man?” I asked him as he had a smirk on his face. Normally, I would think that the old man having that smile was having some kind of mischievous plan, but today was different, the mischievous vibe was nowhere to be felt.

“Why are you looking at me like that? Even though you haven't heard me spoke, you immediately suspected me that I am up to no good. How could you be so cruel even I was only here to bring you good news? ”

This old man is getting too clingy to me, maybe I should distance myself from him in the future. “Sorry, but I got used to it even we only knew each other for a few days. Now, enough of that tell what is this good news of yours? ”

The old man returned to his smirking face and spoke, “But before that let's go upstairs, the guild master seems to be interested in you. Also, I don't have the details good news, the guild master has it. I'm only here to pick you up and bring you to the guild master.”

“Wait, the guild master wishes to see me? Why?”

“Well, what do you expect from the guy who killed a calamity class beast? Do you expect him to not earn the attention of the higher-ups? Of course not, so you are summoned by that old man, because of your efforts in the mission. Now let's go upstairs and not anger the master by making him wait too long.”

The old man then walked, I then followed him, it was my first time to get upstairs. “There's a lot of room here,” I spoke as I observe the second floor's hallway.

The old man then stopped to the last door on the left, he then knocked on the door. “Come in!” spoke a voice that came from the room.

Old man Razor then opened the door and entered, I immediately followed after him. When I entered the room I saw an old man with white hear and a white long beard that reaches his chest. The old man wore a dirty white robe with some kind of bluish stitching on its edges. He seemed to have the eyes of a wise old man who can answer any questions you ask.

Razor took a seat on the vacant stool just near the table. I also took the available seat...I CAN SEAT TO A CHAIR NOW! How long has it been since my butt used sat on a chair? This is amazing, finally with this body, I can seat on any stool again.

“You seemed to be enjoying that stool, Destroyer.” spoke the guild master.

“Was that obvious!?!” I yelled with an embarrassed voice. The guild master then laughed, while old man Razor remained quiet.

“Hahaha! Do not worry about that kid, I've made even weirder people than you. Yours is normal but those people are on another level of weirdness.”

Wait, did the guild master called me weird, damn so much for epic first impressions. Good thing that there are more weirder people out there.

“So what is the news you want to tell, master…”

“Mordor, Master Mordor.”

“…Master Mordor… so what is the good news you want to tell me. ”

Master Mordor leaned back to his chair and spoke, “Have both of you received a letter from the capital?”

Razor and I nodded after hearing Mordor speak. “Well that's a personal invitation to the Princess's birthday in the next three months, it looks like the king has taken a liking to you, Inviting you to his daughter's birthday party is one of the proof. ”

After hearing Mordor I immediately asked, “Is that the good news you have to tell us, master? ”

“No that was not the only one, well the good news that I truly wanted to tell you about is your classank upgrade which you have became eligible.”

This caught my attention after hearing the old man speak about the class upgrade. “Class upgrade are you saying that I will be an E-rank adventurer?” I asked master Mordor.

“No! You are not eligible for that rank, instead, you are eligible to be upgraded to a higher rank.”

“Don't tell me his getting an A-rank class upgrade,” spouted Razor with a surprised voice.

“Well we actually had a meeting about this, even the higher-ups tackled Destroyer's feats. Sadly, the rank that they decided to give Destroyer is only D+. Which you can achieve Mr. Destroyer, by participating in a special examination, that will be conducted next week. As for you Razor, a special examination has been prepared for you to be upgraded to B-rank.”
