The nurse led Damien and me through the hospital hallways, which were lined with rooms containing showers and scrubs. We were instructed to store our clothes in a cubby within the shower room, grab clean towels for drying off, and only then touch the provided scrubs. They even provided us with body wash and shampoo, leaving no room for any potential infection to spread to Lilly. The nurse assured us they would wait outside the room to guide us to her once we were ready.
"Well, let's get this done," Damien said, walking confidently into one of the shower stalls.
"Yeah, I can't wait to see Lilly," I replied, entering a separate shower stall.
