As we anxiously awaited news, Damien and I felt the pain of losing our mate reverberating in our chests. Each time it subsided, we felt a momentary relief, knowing that she was still with us.
Suddenly, a knock echoed through the waiting room door.
"Come in," Damien growled, his voice laced with impatience.
A person in scrubs entered the room, introducing themselves, "Alphas, I'm Dr. Thorn. I'm here to provide you with an update on your future Luna, Lilly. She is currently stable, but we are waiting for Dr. Heper to close her wounds. We managed to save her through blood transfusions, but she is not yet out of danger. Do you have any questions?"
