Doubts.

361 Words
Althea’s mind was racing with doubts. She doubted whether her mate was trustworthy. All she knows about him is that he is super hot and that his name is Syrian. He lives with five other guys that shared the same scent as him and a girl which seemed like a human. This made her even more doubtful than before.  She couldn’t seem to place her fingers on the scent that she smelled on them. Their scent was so delicate that even Althea, a dragon, couldn’t identify them. It was almost like they were dead.  Althea’s eyes widen in recognition when she remembered the lessons that her dad gave her when she was just a little girl. “Thousands of years ago, we, the dragons, were the strongest of all creatures and we still are. But when I was a child, dragons were allowed to move around freely. They owned everything, land, water, air, and the sky. We controlled everything. Sometimes, some of us would lose control and wreck havoc, but most of the time we were good rulers. Then one day the vampires betraying the tribe formed an army with the humans to overthrow us. They lent some of their powers to those humans creating the new generation of hybrid vampires! We could have easily defeated them if my grandfather wasn’t under the oath of Gaia. We vowed to protect her earth, and we surrendered to them. They thought they won the battle. The vampires are worthless, manipulative creatures. We have to steer clear from them. They are paled-skin, cold-blooded, and disgusting creatures. They are sneaky bastards whose scent is difficult to catch. they  are backstabbers.” Althea could hear the repugnance seep through each of his words.  If her mate is one of those repulsive creatures, then she could never trust him. She can never tell him about her true self. How can she mention the mission to save the creatures that his ancestors tried to destroy?  He will not help her, he might even laugh at her pitiable state. She will have to go on this adventure alone. She will have to devise a plan soon before the time elapse. Althea is filled with rage and doubts.
