Chapter 5

Queen Dowager's POV

"To our esteem Royals, ladies and gentlemen, we welcome you to Lycarian Airlines. Flight 2786 will begin departure in 5 minutes. Please fasten your seat belts to prepare for our journey to Mount Vernon, Washington." said the Pilot.

Sighing deeply to myself as I waited for our plane to begin to ascend to the dark sky. Thinking to myself, 'The moon tonight is almost full. Tomorrow it will be at its fullest...but why does it look so ominous?'

The night was quiet, which to me was disturbing, but I am anxious to be there soon. Flying does not sit well with me and my nerves. I think I should get some rest.

'After all these years flying is fearful to you Liliana.' says Mira.

'Mira you should know teasing me is not something I like no matter if they are my subjects, friends, family or my wolf.' I softly chuckle to myself.

"Simon..." I say out loud for the gentleman across from me to hear.

"Yes my queen? Is there something you need?" Simon replied.

"No but, I know my son and his beta are currently talking about the meeting coming up with all the neighboring packs and the Azure Eclipse pack. I will be resting as this day has been long." I replied.

"Of course, I will let the King know as well as all staff members on the plane." Simon said.

The night was long, as the Queen Dowager slept on the plane ride to Azure Eclipse's territory. Soft whispers were the last thing that the Queen Dowager heard as she continued to drift to sleep.

'Liliana Shadow Moon my child wake up..' a soothing familiar voice speaks to me.

I open my eyes and no one in sight but a field of lavender with crescent moon arch way in front of me.

This place is so familiar. Where have I seen this place?

'My dear daughter, that is because this place is only for those I brought before me.' the woman before me spoke.

The woman was absolutely mesmerizing and breathtaking. Her beauty reminded me of Snow White with her long black hair and the dress she wore captured the moonlight. Starlight silver with a blue crescent moon necklace around her neck.

Realizing that it is the Moon Goddess, I instantly bowed and spoke 'My goddess, you honor me with your presence. How may I be of service to you?'

Waving her hand gracefully she says, 'No need for formalities, we have had many conversations over the years. The reason I called to you was that she is coming.'

'The Emerald wolf...how soon?' I asked.

'Within the next few hours she will be truly awake, and she will meet your son soon tomorrow night. At the Lunar rites held by the Azure Eclipse's home.' she replied.

'I know that my son has been waiting to meet his true mate, but I never would have thought it would be The Emerald Wolf that you speak of. May I ask should I be concerned for his well being and the kingdom as we don't truly know if good or bad events will occur?' I asked.

The Moon Goddess continued to walk to the tree in front of us and touched the lowest branch. With that single touch, it bloomed into a beautiful flowing Wisteria tree. Then below our feet white lilies blossomed with lavender patches in between. Our Goddess is truly breathtaking is all I could think to myself.

She responds, 'Time will only tell as fate always changes with decisions that my children make. So know this I am always watching for she is my eyes and my ears. She will be extraordinary, empowering but in the beginning she will be a baby learning to walk as she will be the new Queen, So I ask of you only support her as you know how it feels to take on such a heavy weight of the crown."

'Yes my Goddess, thank you for your wisdom.' I replied and bowing to her.

'Until next time my child may my light continue to guide you daughter...'

As she spoke her final words to me slowly see nothing.

"Mother,,,mother it is time to wake up we are here."

Slowly I open my eyes and see my handsome sons face.

"Thank you my son. I am waking up, I am assuming that we are just waiting to get off the plane." I ask.

"Yes, but are you okay mother? You seem unwell and you look slightly pale." said my son.

I looked over to him and said softly with assurance, "Yes I am just ready to get off this plane."

He smiles and responds to my assurance with a simple nod. He walks back to his seat to talk to Ben our Lead Guard more about the meeting tomorrow.

As I continue to sit, I look out to the window and see the beautiful landscape. Truly this is the work of the Goddess and nature being at peace. I hope whoever this young wolf girl is I hope that she will make my son happy. 'Nathan, I miss you my love I wish you could see this day for our son.' I thought to myself. Doing so, I hear Mira whine softly as I think about our love and her mate Ajax. Losing him was the most difficult and hardest thing that could have happened to my family and me. But I know that he wanted us to remember the good things and never the bad.

"To our esteem, Royals, ladies and gentlemen, we have arrived at our destination. Please wait for clearance to disembark our flight. On behalf of Lycarian Airlines, we thank you for choosing us for your current transportation to Mount Vernon, Washington. Thank you and have a wonderful day." said the Pilot.

As I wait for Simon to get up before I do one final thought came to me. 'Whomever this young girl is I pray to the goddess that she will bring my son happiness.'

Eric's POV

"Once we arrive to the estate of the Azure Eclipses, we'll settle then see what the intinerary is for the evening. But I definitely want to have the meeting first thing tomorrow morning. What do you think Matt?" as I look up from my computer to my Beta.

"Let see based on the scheduling I was given that is still the original plan. I wonder honestly what kind of food will be served." Matt replied.

I sigh as I try to get comfortable in my seat. "By the way you good? You seem more on edge I can feel it." Matt looked at me with concern.

Matt as always hits the target when it comes to reading me.

"Yeah I am fine why?" (E)

"I don't know man, just that...nevermind." (M)

"No what's up?" (E)

Matt stops typing. looks up at me and says "You been acting off since the vision your mom had. You have not even said what is going on in your mind and I can tell it made you nervous."

*Inhaling softly*

I look to my left closing the window shade and reply to Matt's comments.

"Ok...yes I have been on edge my mom nearly collapsed during the party after she was floating a few inches from the ground. Her eyes glowing a flourescent purple as she recites her vision amongst the council." my voice started to shake towards the end. So I stopped to catch my breathe before I continued. "I have never witnessed this and she even has admitted to not having a vision this intense. I can't imagine what she was going through after when she passed out."

"I get where you are coming from. I know that seeing her afterwards was bringing back everything from what happened to your dad but...isn't it strange that this is not what any of us even your own mom expected about finding out who maybe the next queen. You're fated mate Eric one that we do not know if our future will remain peaceful or not." (M)

'Matt understands but at the same time it is hard to even understand this underlying feeling that personally I do not know how to describe.'

Before I speak again to Matt I look to my left wrist at my fathers watch. Softly gliding my right thumb across the face of the watch. Remebering what my dad said to me when I first witnessed mom having a vision.

'Eric my brave son listen, your mother will need you just as much as she needs me to help her after her visions. Promise me to never let her fall for she is strongest that you and I know that she is.' my father said.

'Yes dad I promise. But dad is she always gonna be this way with pain and exhaustion?" I asked my father.

Father places a hand on the right side of my head and says 'No your mom says it is never pain or exhaustion that she has...but an honor to be the eyes of our Moon Goddess.'

With that my dad washed away any worry I had as a child but now this was different and I am not sure what he would say in this.

I look to Matt then say to him.

"Well I will say this whoever she is I know that no matter what I will love her uncondintionally even she is my worst enemy. The Moon Goddess knows our paths are to cross for a reason and only time will tell. Well lets try to nap before landing we can talk more about this later." I replied to Matt.

Matt nodded and pressed the indicator button for the attendant to most likely ask for somethings before he naps out.

As I lean back to get comfortable I feel my wolf stir and whisper to me.

'Eric lets talk about this later for now we need rest.'

'Sounds good Obsidian lets rest.'

With that said I continue to close my eyes to sleep.
