BloodBorne: 2

I woke up early because I wanted to get some food today for our breakfast. Araya said that we don't have any food left, so Damino and Araya will wake up early today. In the few years I have been here in their home, they have done nothing but give me everything. I'm already embarrassed for myself, so I decided to grab some food today. Araya said that today is my 18th birthday, but I don't really know what's unique in this kind of celebration. In fact, this day will only increase my age, do I have to celebrate that? Celebrate that I'm old? According to them, the reason why there is a celebration because this is the only way of thanking the Gods for giving me another year to be alive. Which I really don't understand the thought at all I woke up every day and thanked the Gods in my prayer for giving me another day to see their creation. Isn't it the same as celebrating a birthday? I mean, we should also prepare luscious foods every day because I was also given another day to wake up? I really don't understand what's the point of such a feast. I immediately got up from my bed and pushed those puzzles back into my mind. It's too early for my head to hurt. I want to rest first and help here at home. I wore my slipper that is made out of wood. I walked towards the outside of my room, which was inside the cave, and was shocked to see the two tigers talking very seriously. "Good morning to you, Amanalia," my mother greeted me with a smile on her face. "Good morning to you too, Mother Araya, Father Damino," I greeted them back and sat down next to them, "You guys woke up too early. What's up?" "Shouldn't we be the ones to ask you that?" My father asked with a laugh, "Why did you wake up so early today? That's a miracle. We never did imagine that you may wake up in this hour." I scratched my head because of what he said. I know I'm always the last to wake up among us, but I want to catch up now, and I have a goal today. "I will be getting some foods to eat," I said, "I'd like to go to the west side of the forest to get some fruits and meat for our breakfast." My parents looked at each other and smiled. Is there something wrong with what I just said? I indeed want to get food for us. "Why did you think of that?" My mother asked. "You said yesterday that we had nothing to eat, so I wanted to help you. I'll just get some fruit, and if I'm lucky, I'll catch fish for us," I explained, "Can't I leave?" I looked at the two of them, who were just smiling while looking at me. Earlier, I noticed the smile of my parents were weird. It is very unusual. They seem to want to say and do something, but they can't. What could that be? I hope it's not about my birthday, but at least I don't see anyone preparing. Unlike last year that almost every monster here in the forest was here and helped them. "You can leave. We won't stop you," Damino said, "One more thing, don't worry about our food. We are done eating. In fact, just go outside and find something to eat." "Really?" I ask. They both nodded, which made me smile, "If that is the case then, can I go with Az with me?" "Az?" My mother asked. "Yes, Mother. My one and only best friend," I answered and drank some water. My mother rolled her eyes. "If I may know, you will be going home late. The moment you two are together? You are ignoring the time and come home late at night," she said and stood up. "No," I replied, "I promise you that I'll be home before six o'clock." "Just make sure, okay?" He said, "Go ahead and leave." I quickly stood up and nodded. But before I left, I hugged Araya first and then Damino. "Be careful!" Araya shouted. "Always look at the sunset!" Damino shouted. "Yes!" I shouted back and ran out of the cave. A wide smile rose on my lips as I walked towards Az's house. I don't have to worry about other monsters here in the forest because they know me. I guess almost all the monsters here already know me as Amanalia, daughter of Araya and Damino, even though I wasn't really from my mother's womb. At first, I was astonished why I was so different from my peers here in the forest. It turned out that I was not their child. My father and mother also explained to me the whole story of what happened to my birth parents. I was despondent the first time I found out what happened to them, but I also thought that I don't know them nor see their face. I am not so sure if I want to meet them. Indeed that they are my birth parents, but for me, Araya and Damino are my families. I won't exchange them for anything. They took good care of me as if I am their legitimate daughter. It's sad to think that I haven't even seen my birth parent's faces, but I know that they are happy to where they are now. I am also delighted in the arms of my new family and friends. I think that is all that matters for me now. I just kept walking while enjoying the cold breeze that kissed my skin until I saw a big tree with a hole towards the bottom. "I hope you are now awake," I murmured. When I got in front of the hole, I immediately sat on the ground and looked down. It's still dark below, so I'm sure that my friend is still asleep.
