The Keeper

Episode 3

After all the drama of one night yesterday, I and kira were so confused. How was Lord Gratham involved in this??? It was so not getting simpler but more complicated daily and we were not happy with it. The room door swung open and right there was my mum with some guards. "Hey mum"I greeted and Kira did same. She signaled to the guards and she was left all alone, She locked the door behind her and sat with us on the bed. "Has your food been brought in"she asked. "Yes mum"we both replied. "Nice"she said in reply. "Mum I'm really sorry about yesterday I shouldn't have reacted that way at all. It was so silly of me"I said bending my head down facing my laps. "Sweetie it's okay, sometimes we just have to let the emotions out"my mum said lifting my head and kissing my forehead. "Mum, so what's up about last night?? What happened?? Kira asked immediately. "Darling ,he went to the lower chamber and we found him outside like that. We've even true asking him questions as he is receiving treatments but all to no avail" my mum said letting out a heart felt sigh."I feel so terrible for him"Kira said in a heart felt tone. I patted Kira at her back and decided to point my question straight to mum. "Mum why is the lower chamber a don't-go area?? I mean well why is no one allowed to enter in there???What's the problem??I asked my mum politely. "Sweetie I can tell you a little but if you want a detailed explanation you would need to we the keeper and to your surprise the keeper is only known by your dad and no one else"she said. I immediately felt quest." Who was the keeper??. How come it was only my dad that knew the keeper and no one else?Who could it be?"I thought her carefully. These mystery was so confusing and we needed to solve it fast and good."Mum could you tell us the things you know about about the lower chamber because we are confused and we don't understand what you said"I lied so much mum could tell I and Kira the truth .

"Well it all starts long ago....Your grandfather was a very mighty king of great valor and pride.....Everyone loved him because he ruled with wisdom and equality. On a day like this he was given a letter of invitation to a royal masquerade ball in Winchester. Your Grandfather could not go because of the great distance  and the time it will take to get to the ball earlier. So he decided to set up his own committee whereby he would be able to host his own masquerade balls and other royal events and also house royalties coming from distant countries and regions and other places in the world....that was the magistrate court ...It is located at the lower chamber along with some rooms where the royalties housed till the event was done. The rooms were numbered so the keys couldn't be misplaced or mixed up with other keys. When I and your father got married, your grandfather decided to place a person in charge of all the magistrate court activities and this was the keeper. On the day of the ceremony where the person who would take charge if the magistrate court activities was ordained, The king announced that the ceremony would no longer take place as the person had already been chosen. Till now no one knows except from your father who the keeper is........". Mum paused and gave out a loud sigh. 

"Well as your grandfather passed on with his wife with him. The castle turned upside down. There was a lot of fightings and quarrels within servants,members of the magistrate court and the people. Therefore the magistrate court was turned into a judiciary body where people seek redress for any partial justice served. As a result, lives were shed and people were killed.Your dad finally got tired and stopped the magistrate court from ever existing again...The lower chamber house a lot of ghost and spirits who are still being tormented. This is because most people were killed out of their will. There was treason,hate and bloodshed.All these couldn't continue so the lower chamber was locked up forever. The guard today went in and we really don't know what happened that made him that so terrified half dead. It is believed that ghosts live within the walls and rooms of the lower chamber but we are yet to discover what really happened"Mum said as she concluded. 

I was in total awe as my mum told me those things. I felt scared a bit and surprised. That was half of the story that was told to I and Kira and we were shocked..."Don't think about it too much"My mum said as she stood up from the bed,went towards the door and left.
