And The Two Become One

Emerald’s POV

Out from the bushes jumps the most beautiful white wolf. Her fur so white and pure, it has a pearlescent shimmer. Trotting over where the moon goddess stands, she stops short of her and lays down. Looking up expectantly.

Selene runs her finger tips atop of the wolf’s snout, all the while I stand there mouth ajar. I have never seen such a beautiful creature. Fierce but graceful. As if reading my mind again, Selene speaks up. “Emerald, this is Nikkia. I have been saving her for you. She is very special, much like yourself.”

I pause a moment before slowly reaching for the magnificent wolf. As I start to stroke her, I earn a purr. ‘It’s nice to finally meet you Emerald. I have been waiting for this day for so long!’

‘I can hear you?’ I silently muse.

‘Yes!’ She giggles. Her voice is gentle like a butterfly kiss. ‘We are connected! Well not fully at the moment, but just wait! Together we will be a force to be reckoned with!!’

“I see you are able to talk to each other no problem.” A smile graces her delicate face, not fully reaching her eyes.

“What is it you seek of me Selene?”

She looks a little surprised.

“I didn’t mean to offend you!” I start but stop as soon as she raises her hand. A warm smile graces her soft features.

“You just caught me by surprise. Its been so long since someone has understood me so well.”

Selene opens her arms gesturing me to come in for a hug. Doing so has me feeling the greatest warmth. The peace I have been feeling since waking up here has increased tenfold. Hugging the moon goddess feels like hugging a super nova but being relaxed while doing so. There wasn’t any pain, but I could absolutely feel her power.

Breaking the hug she looks down into my eyes. “I have always planned for you to have Nikkia. I’m sorry you have had such a rough go. Unfortunately if I outright meddle in my wolves affairs on Earth, there are consequences. I can only guide. Sadly not everyone follows my guidance.”

A lone tear escapes her icy blue orb. “I need your help to set things right. I may not be able to actively do anything on Earth, but you will be able to. You will have special abilities when you return. Nikkia will help guide you. She will teach you have to use them.”

“I have only one request.”

“I hope you get your revenge.”

Her words stun me. I assumed she would be all love and peace and forgive those who have wronged you. Yet here she is, telling me she will send me back, with a wolf and abilities. Looking up to me her gaze I ask, “When do I go back?”
