Sickness almost every morning, cramps and pains in my belly and a constant feeling of nausea. Strange are the ways of a woman’s suffering during pregnancy but I must remain calm and diligent. If all this discomfort is God’s will, then I must bear it. The rewards later will be greater. I find I want to eat pears all the time and the crop this year was not so good. Some pears are stored for me, but the pile is getting smaller. I want to just sit back on clement days and watch the world outside the casement, but I cannot do so.
