I used to look at mated couples in wonder. Why did they always seem so happy? Surely the mate bond isn’t responsible for them being so cheerful? Mated couples seem to glow with an inner light that seeps from their pores. They always seemed to be in perpetual happiness, like they knew all the secrets to life and couldn’t let anyone know unless they too were in the special club of matehood. Growing up, I would watch my mom and dad, wishing I could one day feel the way they do about each other and now that I have my mate, I know now why mated couples look like they hold all the answers to life's secrets.
