Captain Hubert and Kurt walked side by side through the hallways of the hospital to the ICU. As they approached, Kurt noticed that two MPs were stationed outside Mike’s cubicle. He wouldn’t have thought about that level of security inside a hospital, but it was probably a sane precaution given all that had happened in the past day. One of the MPs nodded at Captain Hubert.
“Anything out of the ordinary?” Hubert asked.
“No, ma’am. Very quiet,” the military police officer answered her.
“Kurt, I’ll give you fifteen or twenty minutes then I need to speak with all of you. I’m assuming Mike may not be completely coherent, but I need to find out whatever he remembers.”
