She's a clown

Chapter 9 Eve's eyes almost pop out of their sockets as she tries to process what her friend just said. "Jayden!" She snorts quietly, clenching her fists as she feels anger building up in her. If it were to be someone else that she has to work with then she wouldn't have had any problem with that. But Jayden? He's the last person she wants to work with. She has a phobia for arrogant people, and she may end up losing her job after kicking his ass. Giving the lady a last glare, she finally turns around and storms out of the office, slamming the door behind her as if she wants to breathe it down. As she walks down the hallway, she can't help trying to control her anger. She finally stops in front of the door and takes a deep breath, before pushing it open and walking inside. Surprisingly, Mr. Liam is not sitting in his usual seat. Has he quit already? She takes another deep breath before placing a soft knock on the door of his office, and after a few minutes, his voice finally sounds from inside, giving her permission to make her way inside. Stepping into his office and seeing him sitting behind his desk while holding his phone to his ear, in a serious discussion with someone, she rolls her eyes inwardly. Seeing the angry look on her face, the corner of his lips slowly twitches into a smirk. This is the expression he likes to see on her. "Uhm... Good morning, Sir," Not that she wanted to greet him anyway, but it doesn't look like she has a choice. "I'll call you back please," He says to whoever he was on phone with, dropping the call and turning his attention to her afterward. "How may I help you, Eve?" He asks sarcastically as if he doesn't know why she has come to see him. For some seconds, she feels like slapping his face and putting some senses into his empty skull, but too bad that she can't do any of that. "I don't need your damn help, man. What the heck do you think you're doing, huh?" She wants to snap at him, but she better mind her speech, right? "Uhm... Sir..." "Yes, you're resuming today as my secretary. Do you have any problem with that?" He asks sarcastically, taking his attention to the screen of his desktop, while she scoffs silently. Someone else wouldn't have dared try this s**t with her, and here this bastard is, thinking that he can bully her? For some seconds, she can't help but wish that he's not her boss. Maybe he would've had his ass kicked already. "Liam already quit as my secretary, so get to work and attend to me," He says to her with his voice full of sarcasm, as he glances at her through the corner of his eyes. His stomach twitches excitedly at the priceless sad and angry expression that keeps lurking around her face. "And you think because you asked me to, I should go ahead and do it? Who are you to think that you can order me around here, huh?" She so much wants to slam her hands on the desk and scare the hell out of him, but losing her job now is the last thing on her mind, so she's just going to keep her cool and control her anger. "Uhm... Sir... Don't you think that this will be too awkward for me? It has been a while since I last worked as a secretary, and I almost have no idea how it works anymore. Don't you think that it'll be a disaster, making me your secretary?" She sits on the chair opposite him, having a small nervous smile on her face, hoping that her trick works, but who says that it could work on Jayden? "Get me my schedule for the week. Fast," He replies to her instead, and she sighs defeatedly. Turns out that she wasted her time, trying to convince this bastard. "Hmm... I'll do that, Sir," She slowly nods her head as she drags herself up from the chair, and walks hopelessly to the door pulling it open and striding out of his office afterward. He stares at her until she's out of sight, as the corner of his lips slowly twitches into a smirk. Having fun with her for some time won't hurt, right? Evelyn Jones I glance at the closed door for the umpteenth time, and I can't help the sigh that tears through my throat. Turns out that my days may be ruined here for as long as I work here. What on earth have I ever done to this young man to deserve this from him? Taking a deep breath, I pick up the file from the desk and stand up to my feet, heading to his office afterward. The fact that I'm going to be seeing his face often is already getting me frustrated. I place a knock on the door, and for some minutes, I can't help thinking that he must've left his office through the window, or maybe he died in there. "Come on, Eve, that's mean," My subconscious mind reminds me, and I roll my eyes. I mean, why won't I think like that? I have been knocking on the door for close to two minutes, and he hasn't said a word. So, what's with that? "Come in," His annoying voice finally sounds from inside, and I push the door open, making my way in. He's right there standing and staring out through the window. "Here's the file you asked me to get for you, Sir," I say to him, trying to be as polite as I can. Not that I have any option anyway. "Leave it on the desk, and leave," His response sounded mean, and I can't help glaring hard at him. I know working as his secretary is going to be a whole lot of work for me. I'm thinking of maybe turning in my resignation letter. "Uhm... Mr. Jayden..." For the first time, I call him by his name, and I'm sure of the expression on his face, even if he hasn't turned around yet to look at me. "Hmm?" He finally turns to face me, and my heart skips for some reason unknown to myself. For the first time, I finally get to see his face clearly and what he looks like. The spark in his pair of blue eyes is everything that can melt anyone's heart. His pointed nose fits him perfectly, and his thick black hair which is messy looks super cute on him. Is Mr. Jayden really this handsome, or am I the one having this feeling? "Did you call to drool over my face, huh?" His voice snaps me back to reality, and I turn my face away in embarrassment. Gosh! What was I thinking? "No...no way..." I quickly say, and he scoffs. "Alright. So... What are you still doing here?" He asks coldly, and I bite my bottom lip. "I want to turn in my resignation letter," I finally say to him, and he pauses what he was doing...
