The Vanguard’s been hunting it for years.” “I didn’t stumble into anything! I just found it!” Alex protested. “Yeah, well, they don’t care. Now that you’ve touched it, they’ll hunt you to the ends of the earth. The Core bonded to you, which means you’re the only one who can unlock its full potential.” Alex stared at the glowing device in disbelief. “I didn’t ask for this.” “None of us did,” Luna said. “But now you’re part of this fight whether you like it or not.” She handed him a small bracelet. “Put this on.
