LAURA I woke up after what felt like an eternity and I was greeted with an empty hospital ward as well as the searing pain that assaulted my body. Memories of what transpired the previous night flowed back in, as a frown settled on my face. My body was now riddled with scars and I could feel the ache all over. I was about to leave the bed when the bathroom door by the side creaked open. Kaden walked out, and I was met with the shock on his face on seeing me. I felt my chest tighten as he walked over to my bedside asking how I was. His face held deep affection that made me feel even worse.
