Chapter 7 I stood outside the theatre, waiting. My hair spiraled in whimsical twists around my head like twisted wheat, delicate tendrils artfully escaping the emerald pins that held my updo in place. Amber had been right about a necklace ruining the lines of my dress, so I had wound my grandmother’s chain around my ankle under the green boots. I felt sophisticated, mature and sexy all at the same time, like I’d just stepped off some fashion runway in Paris or Milan. It was a new, heady feeling.
