Autumn opted for the couch in Dr. Wes’s office rather than the chair. She felt a bit beaten up and the deep cushions comforted her. Chrissy snuggled against her leg.
Doctor Wes peered at Autumn. Slumped on the couch, she held Chrissy close.
“How have things been going with Ray?”
Autumn closed her eyes.
“He’s so understanding. I don’t deserve it.”
“Why not?”
She took a breath. “I almost ruined it.”
