I'm twiddling Martin's ginger hair in between my fingers as he's got his head in my lap, staring into his blue eyes. We have been having a secret relationship for a few months, since I turned 18 actually. It's been really hard keeping it hush hush from Amaryllis. She's been my best friend for as long as I can remember. I don't know how she is going to react, especially now she knows Martin isn't her true brother.
At the same time I feel that I am running the risk of losing Martin if I do not tell him. I am completely lost.
I contemplate, for a moment, as to whether Martin and I are anything like werewolf mates, bonded for life. I would like to think so.
I have a sudden wave of sadness flow over me as I sigh and wonder if I will ever know who my father is or was.
