chapter 1
Bella's POV
"Mom, dad, it was nice of you to come." My father said, smiling at my grandparents.
''Honey, we wouldn't miss this important event for the world. isn't that right Hayden?''
my grandfather let out a short breath.
"Right, Riley." He said, looking down at my grandmother with love in his eyes.
after a few more hours of meeting and greeting everyone, i told my mother i was going outside.
"okay dear, just be careful, you don't know who could be lurking out there." My mother said, a gentle smile on her face.
i gave her a short nod and walked out of the large ballroom. i passed numbers of rooms before finding the exit. i pull my jacket over me as i looked around, the cold air hitting my cheeks and nose, turning them red.
i stood outside for a good hour and watched as people came in and out of the building.
"a pretty girl like you shouldn't be out here alone." i heard a deep voice say.
i jumped and spun around, seeing a boy about my age who had raven black hair and tattoos along his arms.
i didn't say anything to the boy. he walked over and sat on the bench i was on. he had a cigarette in between his fingers and he was looking at me.
"you could at least tell me your name." he said, taking a puff of the cancer stick.
i look at it in disgust. the smoke was to much and i got up.
before i would walk away, he grabbed my waist and pulled me down.
"not so fast. i never got your name. i'm Grayson." he said, holding my hand.
"i-i'm Bella."
"pretty name for a pretty girl." he said, smirking.
