Everyone present inside the hall was shocked. This was the first time Adrian Blake would actually bring a lady along with him to an event or in public. The media teams that were around didn’t wait for anyone to tell them what to do before they got into action and started capturing the beautiful couple.

The way Adrian held Chloe protectively shocked everyone, including Chloe, as she was taken aback as well. Both old and young men standing at the corners of the hall stared at Chloe lustfully as her beauty alone covered every other woman’s beauty present at the party.

”She’s the definition of a true beauty,” One of the men commented.

Every lady present stared at Chloe with hatred and jealousy evident in their eyes. Almost all the ladies suddenly wished to be in her position.

“Argh! I can’t believe she still dared to show her face to the public after breaking up with Marcus yesterday only to attend this event with his uncle,” Lila muttered bitterly to her friends.

Lila had always dreamt of being with Adrian Blake, even if it was just a one-night stand, but none of it was coming through, so she had to snatch Marcus from Chloe. Maybe she could use that opportunity to get closer to him, but instead, things turned around for her.

“I agree with you Lila. Chloe is just so shameless,” another girl standing beside Lila said.

Chloe overheard their conversation but chose to ignore all of it. If she didn’t come here to be insulted, why should she bother listening to them?

Unexpectedly, a lady screamed when she spotted the limited-edition necklace on Chloe wearing it confidently.

“She’s putting on the limited-edition necklace, take a look at it,” the lady said, tapping those beside her and pointing towards Chloe’s neck.

“You are right! I didn’t notice that before,” another lady said.

“This lady is lucky to have Adrian. I’m so jealous of her right now,” a lady said, grinning.

“Who knows maybe she seduced the almighty Adrian Blake with her tiny body,” Lila said, pure hatred evident in her voice.

Lila couldn’t believe Chloe could dare to date someone else after she broke up with Marcus. What shocked Lila the most was that the man Chloe found after leaving Marcus was even ten times better than him when it came to power, status, and money. Marcus can’t even compete with Adrian when it comes to looks, richness, or connection.

“Why does Chloe always have the best things while I only have her remnants?” Lila thought as she tightened her fist in anger.

Marcus, on the other hand, couldn’t get his eyes off Chloe. He suddenly started regretting and blaming himself forever for cheating on her with Lila. Lila’s beauty is halfway down compared to Chloe’s beauty.

A surge of anger suddenly ran towards Marcus as he saw Chloe in the hands of not just an ordinary man, but his powerful uncle who is his worst nightmare. Adrian Blake is just six years older than Marcus, but his aura, attitude, and connections make people think he is ten to fifteen years older than Marcus.

When Adrian Blake was just five years old, Marcus' father, Andrew Blake got married and gave birth to Marcus. Marcus' father and Adrian haven’t been on good terms since their childhood because they were half-brothers and each other’s worst enemies. They were always at each other’s throats while growing up.

Adrian held Chloe closely in a more romantic way and she couldn’t help herself but stare at his handsome face as their faces were just an inch away from each other.

Marcus soon disentangled himself from Lila and left her standing as he walked up to Adrian to say hi to him with a fake smile.

“Uncle, I didn’t know you would be here,” Marcus said, approaching them like it was a surprise to see Adrian in events like this.

Chloe’s face suddenly dropped when she looked around and realized that the two people who ruined her life were present at the same party as her.

“Aren’t you happy to see me or were you not expecting to see me?” Adrian asked, teasing Marcus.

Adrian looked at Chloe and noticed how hard she clenched her fist so tightly; he gently held her hands up and gave her a reassuring smile that all would be fine. Chloe, on the other hand, was surprised and taken aback when Adrian held her hands and even smiled at her.

This was the first time he had actually ever smiled at her ever since they met. Adrian stared at Marcus for a few seconds before pulling Chloe closer towards him till there was no space left between them.

“Marcus, meet my wife. Her name is Chloe. I guess you’ve met her before and I trust you to treat her with respect as your aunt,” Adrian said, smiling.

Adrian already did a background check on Chloe when he first took her home from the bar the night before and realized she had just broken up with Marcus a few minutes ago. Marcus understood what Adrian said, so he clenched his fist in anger.

“All right,” Marcus said and turned around to leave, but Adrian’s voice stopped him in his tracks.

“Don’t you think you should start showing your aunt some respect from now on? I know your father did teach you how to respect your elders,” Adrian said.

Marcus turned around and gave Adrian a deadly look before turning to Chloe who was standing and watching as the drama unfolded between them.

“Good evening, aunt. It’s a pleasure to meet you,” Marcus said.

“Good boy, your father did teach you well,” Adrian said, smirking.

Marcus wasted no time as he turned around and left immediately, he greeted Chloe. Lila stared at them from afar as she watched the drama and instantly her hatred for Chloe grew higher.

A few top businessmen came to greet Adrian where he was standing because he rarely attends any event and this was like a golden opportunity for them to meet him.

“Good day, Mr. Blake. I am the CEO of Ruby’s Cosmetics and I hope you remember me,” Mr. Henry said, stretching out his hand for a handshake.

Mr. Henry stared at Chloe lustfully as he exchanged pleasantries with Adrian.

“How about you have a one-night stand with her?”
