The Casanova

Maurisa* Moving to New York City, the city "where all your dreams come true" is gonna be a start afresh for me. Leaving my home town is the hardest decision I've ever made in my life. With all that had happened, staying in Leawood, KS brings lots of melancholic memories. I inhaled a large amount of air as I got down the plane before releasing it. I watched as family members welcomed their loved ones with tight hugs and tears of joy, I was so lost in the moment that I didn't know when a small smile crept on my lips. "Down to earth Maury!!!", I was immediately drawled out of my thoughts as I saw my best friend, Julia smirking towards me. My smile instantly was replaced with shock. Julia looked different from the time I last saw her, which was last seven years, yeah last seven freaking years!! can you blame a person... After all that happened to me, I shut everyone out from my life, even Julia which pained me more after she had been there for me, I still hurt her by shutting her out. "Oh s**t, I just dazed out again", she was still smirking at me. I swiftly pulled her into a tight hug with tears streaming down my face and she also responded to my hug. "Jules..sniff..I'm so..sniff...sooo....sniff...sorry for...sniff...all...." "Damn girl it's been long and I missed you, where have you been all these years?? How long did you think you could shut me off?? What are you using, you look sexy girl?? Why the face??....she cut me off with questions of concern, I was so moved as more tear dropped from my face. ................................................................................ ................................................................................ (Reminiscent on the past) Jules and I have been best friends since kindergarten. When I was in primary school, I wasn't the type of girl you wanna be friends with, should I say I was the nerdy and weird type? Well, I had classmates but not friends. Jules was a transfer student from West Virginia. She was the kind of girl people loved to relate with..more like a sanguine. Everyone had a seat buddy, but I on the other hand was a loner. She sat next to me the first day she came and talked to me as if we've been friends like forever. The next question she then asked me shocked me the most, "can we be best friends?" She said. Since then we've been best of friends. I know you think my story on how I and my best friend met is cheesy, but I bet yours can't beat mine. (Back to story) I smiled at her and finally answered all her questions with just three words, "I'm okay Jules". The smile she gave me after those three words left my mouth made my day. We left for her apartment which was downtown. She rambled on and on about how much she missed me and on how much I've missed. All I could do was smile and nod as if I was listening, cause damn I've missed Jules. When we got to her apartment, to say I was shocked was an understatement, her house was more like a mansion, it blew me away.
