Arriving back to the manor, he placed his hands on her stomach. She was stuffed, a feeling she wasn't used to, she usually aye small meals, she enjoyed the occasional starter buy only ones she had made herself, she was pleasantly surprised at how her week had turned out so far, she was also nervous, she knew I was a smart move to be romantically involved with the brothers, she had only ever read about love triangles, now she was in one she finally realised what all the fuss was about.
Mason opened the car door for her, she looked up to see a handsome young man come out of the front door and make his way towards her, "Hello there, you must be Elizabeth, my name is Alaric, I'm Jacobs son, he told me a little about you, that you are the one taking over from Elm, it is a pleasure to meet you!" Alaric stated. "Hello Alaric, tje pleasure is all mine." Elizabeth responded softly, he was very handsome, he looked a lot like his father, they both had welcoming smiles and kimd eyes, the only noticeable difference was that Alaric looked quite young and he had auburn hair. "I am heading home, but you will be seeing a lot of me. I am sure I come to ride with my father quite often. Perhaps you would like to join us one time." Alaric suggested, A silver car pulled up, "Well this is me," He said, he gave Mason and James a quick hug and then hopped in the passenger seat of the silver car, A young blonde wearing oversized sunglasses and. right red lipstick put her hands up, waving to the brothers as she pulled off, beeping the horn twice.
The three made their was inside, Jacob was sat in the study, and he heard them come through the door and headed to the kitchen. "Is there a sauce for me?" Jacob said, looking directly at the boxes of dessert James had in his hands. "You can have mine." James replied generosly. "I am only messing, you know me, brother." Jacob bellowed. "If you don't want it, I'll have it." Mason said in jest. "Who's room are you sleeping in tonight, mine? I hope!" Mason blurted out to Elizabeth, "Her own." Jacob said sternly. "We have some catching up to do, little brother!" Mason replied with a grin on his face. It seemed strange to hear him call Jacob little brother. Although he was the youngest of the three, he seemed the most weatherd. Perhaps being a parent took somewhat of a toll on him, she thought to herself. Despite Jacob looking the oldest, there was something he had incomon with his brothers. He was very attractive.
Jacob looked at Mason, then at James. "What are you talking about?" Jacob asked. "It just kinda happened." James replied, looking at Elizabeth. "Well, that has surprised me, I expected a stunt like this from Mason, but not you." Jacob responded, sounding like a disappointed parent. "Actually... She got to know us both a little better." Mason declared. Elizabeth dropped her head in embarrassment. "Would you give us a minute? Sounds like you had quite a day. Try and get some sleep, hmm?" Jacob said, looking at Elizabeth. She nodded and made her way up the stairs. She was too embarrassed to speak. Reality had finally set in, and she realised the severity of the situation. Surely, this love triangle was not sustainable. At some point, there would be a spanner in the works. She got to her room and rested her head on the pillow, closing her eyes, breathing deeply she didn't realise it but she was exhausted, as soom as she had closed her eyes she had fallen asleep.
There was a knock on the door, Elizabeth sat up, "Yes?" she called out, unsure of whether it was Mason or James. "May I come in, mam?" Jacob asked in his slightly southern accent. "Of course, Jacob." She replied, he entered her room and looked around, he was unsure of whether it would be okay to look at her, he could tell she had jusy woken up and he didn't want to make this anymore uncomfortable than it already was. "I am going to need you to be completely honest with me, Miss Elizabeth," He began, "Did my brothers take advantage of you?" he looked genuinely concerned. Had they done something like this before? "No, sir, it just kinda happened." She replied, not wanting to go into too much detail. "Okay, I want you to know if you run in to any trouble, I want you to know you can come to me, I feel responsive for you, being the one that hired you, if at any moment you don't feel comfortable or don't wish to talk about it, write me a note and we will figure something out okay?" He said softly. Elizabeth nodded in agreement.
Do you like horses, Miss Elizabeth?" He asked. "I honestly couldn't tell you," She replied. She hadn't been around any to know whether she did or not. "I'd like to introduce you to the horses, I think you will like it out there, and my brothers don't often ride so it is a good place to go if you ever want a break from them." He said, his tone warm and kind, the complete opposite of what she was expecting. She was worried she was going to be scorned and perhaps asked to leave. She took a moment to think. She then looked up at him and nodded her head in agreement, "Okay, well I will let you get changed into something warm and ai will meet you in the kitchen." He added. Jacob left the room, closing the door behind him. Not wanting to keep him waiting, Elizabeth sprung out of bed and stumbled to the wardrobe, almost tripping over her trainers. She flung a pair of blue jeans on the bed and then a red flannel shirt on top, she started to get changed when she heard her door open, she turned to face the door, it was Mason. "Where are we heading?" he asked. "Leave her alone. You know Jacob invited her to go outside with him to meet Daisy and Bam, don't listen to him Elizabeth, you don't owe him an explanation, you enjoy the rest of your morning." James said, tugging on Masons shirt to move him along before closing her door to give her some privacy while she changed.
Once she was dressed, she descended the stairs to find Jacob waiting for her in the kitchen like he said he would. He turned around to face her, "Ready?" Jacob asked. "Ready." Elizabeth replied."Let's go meet these horses, then shall we?" Jacob added.
