Slipping on her black Converse trainers, Elizabeth began to lose her balance. She felt his hands on her waist, It wasn't James. He was still in front of her... "Mason!" She called out in shock. "How long have you been there?" She added. "Long enough to know we are going for dinner now, which works out for me because I, for one, am ravenous." He said, looking up at his brother. James walked past them, "I will be ready in a moment." James said as he disappeared through the door. Elizabeth reached for her coat. It was hanging up on the back of her door. Her coat was a warm brown colour with large black buttons and had two deep pockets by her side. Placing her hands in the pockets, she looked over to Mason, who was wearing grey trousers, a white buttoned shirt, and smart brown shoes, which had small, intricate detailing engraved around them He looked very handsome, but Elizabeth was still annoyed at him. She was also annoyed with herself for moving so quickly.
James let out a sigh. He knew that nothing about what he and Mason had just done was right. If Jacob knew their new house guest had been compelled to be intimate with one of the brothers, let alone both, he would be furious. James plucked dark blue trousers from his wardrobe and a white shirt and began to dress. Once he was dressed, he sat in his bed to put on a black pair of shoes that had red souls and looked very expensive. He made his way back to Elizabeth. All three made their way down the stairs and headed to the door, Elizabeth was nervous. She hadn't actually been on a date before. She had some savings but not a lot and hoped they were heading somewhere affordable, although she knew that it would be highly unlikely. Mason pulled a scarf from the peg by the front door and placed it around her, he knew he had messed things up and was hoping that if he was nice to her, they would be able to pick up where they left off.
The scarf smelled like cinnamon and was a deep maroon colour, It was very soft and had hassles at the end. She looked up at Mason, and he looked back at her, "I guess we are taking your car brother, mine is still in a state of disrepair..." Mason stated. "Looks that way, Elizabeth is in the front, though." James replied, glancing at his brother. James opened the passenger door of a black range rover and helped Elizabeth in. The car smelled like coffee, the interior was brown leather with black detail, James closed the door and made his way to the drivers side. Mason hopped in the back behind Elizabeth so that he could smell her. He was hooked on the scent of lavander and honey, the smell she eminated.
Driving past the sunflower fields, then the cornfields and the cabbage patches, she realised the brother had been talking, but she had tuned out watching the green and golden fields. "Huh?" She said yurninf to look at Mason, who was the last to say something. "I was just telling James it would be fun to bring you as our plus one to our friend Fred's wedding this weekend." Mason articulated. "I haven't met him, so I would prefer not to go..." She responded. James nodded his head, "There you go, Mason." James announced.
James pointed out to the fields, "We will be planting pumpkins out here in a few days, well, by we, I mean we employ Fred's son and a couple others we employ, they take care of the fields. Elm used to make pumpkin soup and pies, perhaps we could go pumpkin picking when they are ready?" James said. He assumed she liked the sounds of the idea because she turned to face him and flashed a smile. "Are you this nice to all the people you employ?" She asked. "Just the ones he sleeps with." Mason proclaimed. James turned to his brother and flashed his teeth. He did not want his new love interest to think he was anything like his brother. "You might be thay way inclined, Mason, but Jacob and I do our best to take care of everyone that works for us, and I don't have a history of dating employees. James declared, facing his brother.
"Lighten up, she actually has a sense of humour, stop being so highly strung, you insipid baboon." Mason chuckled. "Oh really, if I am an insipid baboon, what would that make you?" James asked. "Well, I think that is very obvious. Clearly, I am a cheeky money, and brother, to an insipid baboon." Mason said in jest, he was trying to make Elizabeth laugh, and it appeared that his plan had worked, she was trying hard to hold in her luagh, as much as she wanted to stay mad at Mason she couldn't help but warm to his charismatic character, like a sailer being called upon by a siren, but as we all know, the fete of a sailer in the company of a siren is treacherous one indeed.
"We're e here." Mason called out in excitement, "Thank God," James responded. Elizabeth looked up and was pleasantly surprised. The building looked inviting. It was a grey barn conversion, and the front was glass. The gloriously tall window panes allowed you to see inside, there was a large chandelier and the carpet was red, this place was going to be expensive, she thought to herself. She went to open the door buy Mason was already there, he opened up the door for her and held out his hand, she placed her hand in his and allowed him to help her our of the car,
James made his way to the door and opened it for Elizabeth, Mason followed behind, and James entered last. "Good evening! Table for three?" The woman behind the reception counter asked. She was beautiful. She had warm blonde hair and bright blue eyes. "Yes, please, Kate," James replied. They must come her often if they are familiar with each other, Elizabeth said out loud. " Mr James and Mr Mason are the owners. They stop by every so often. Are you the interior designer Mr James spoke about?" Kate asked. "This is Elizabeth. She is our date." Mason said with a smile. Elizabeth looked up, and she began to blush, "Follow me." Kate said abruptly, very disappointed in hearing that they brothers were on a date, "Here are the menus. What would you like to drink?" Kate asked. "Macallan, eighteen years for me." Mason announced. Kate looked over to James. Could you bring a bottle of château duhart, the two thousandans ten, if we have any left in the case?" he asked. Kate looked at Elizabeth, "Could ai have a glass of cola, please?" Kate smiled. It was not a friendly smile, more of a teasing one. " I will be back soon to take your orders." Kate said.
Kate entered the kitchen, "What does she have that I don't? Can you believe the tart ordered a soda? how common!" Kate sniggered as she poured the drinks and grabbed the bottle of wine, no one was paying attention, Kate made her way back to the table, she placed the glass of whisky in front of Mason, the glass of cola infront of Elizabeth and then poured the wine in the three wine glasses that were already at the dressed table. Once she poured the wine into the three glasses, leaving the bottle, "Have you decided what you would like to order?" She asked. Elizabeth looked down. There wasn't a single price on the menu. She was afraid to order. Elizabeth knew she was in one of those places where if you needed to ask for a price, you definitely could not afford to be eating there.
