At the party

Luna's POV I watched as he descended down the stairs egoistically, carrying his shoulders up perfectly, his thick black hair shone brightly beneath the light of the chandelier, his flawless skin seem to be the most graceful thing in his body, but when i beheld his face, i was forced to rebuke myself for thinking that in the first place. Seeing his small heart-shaped lips, the sudden urge to explore it rushed through me, but that is going to be the biggest mistake of my life. My eyes traveled to his pointed nose and i couldn't help the goosebumps that popped up on my skin. I watched every step he took, the ground he walks on, praising him gracefully for touching them, and as he finally got to my front, that was when i got a better view of his deep blue eyes, and I froze on the spot. *Heck! How can someone be this handsome? * He clicked his fingers bringing me out of my thoughts. "You can come along when you are done staring" Mark chuckled and walked past me. " Staring? Excuse me, I wasn't staring at you" I snapped, walking after him. " I never said you were staring at me. Or were you?" He smirked. Jeez. How could I blindly expose myself?. I bit my lip embarrassingly as I quietly followed him behind. I heaved a sigh of relief as we got into the car and drove off. It was a quiet one as cool music played from the car's music box. Apart from the food, the main reason I agreed to attend the party was to meet new humans. Who knows? I might meet two humans in love and this is definitely a great step towards fulfilling my mission. The car pulled off before a huge building and we both slid out of his silver Camry. At that moment, it dawned on me that I was going to be surrounded by a lot of humans for the first time and I couldn't help but worry about how weird and uncomfortable that will be. As we walked into the house, the progressing party inside momentarily froze and stared in our direction. I instantly swallowed hard as we became the subject of their murmured conversation. "Smile" I heard Mark said softly in my ear. I was busy studying the crowd before us to bother flashing a smile on my face. I looked at him with a strange smile on my lip. This is going to be a long night. The foyer was filled with people. Some where dancing to the loud music which played in the background while some sat down discussing and having fun. I looked closer and to my amazement, I saw some people making out in the darker part of the house.Shameless! Mark exchanged greetings with some friends and introduced me to them. "Hi Luna. My name is Richard. Can we be friends?" One of them said with his hand stretched forth to me. Before I could bring forth my hand for a handshake with Richard, Dave had pushed off his hand. "She doesn't want to be friends with you" Luna bit out. I wondered what exactly was wrong with him as he dragged me towards a table. He sat down and I sat across him. "What the hell was that?" I fired with furrowed brows . Mark's POV "What the hell was that?" Luna fired as soon as we sat down. "What?" I asked feigning ignorance. "You were too harsh on Richard. The poor guy only wanted to be friends with me" " I was only trying to protect you. And I am sure he doesn't just want to be friends. He definitely has an ulterior motive" I sneered. I am definitely not doing this because I am jealous. I am only doing this to protect Luna. She looks so innocent and naive and I won't let anyone take advantage of her. She has been the one protecting me and I won't hesitate to do same whenever I have the opportunity to. " Ulterior motives? No..I don't think he is that kind of person" " Don't be deceived by his innocent looks. I know charles, he has this thing for girls. Most especially, the pretty ones" Luna sucked in her breath as soon as I ended the sentence. "Did you just accept that I am beautiful?" " Uhm.. not really.. that is what most of my friends thinks..I wonder what made them think that you are beautiful" " So I am not looking cute tonight?. You're right, I shouldn't have let those maids apply some colors on my face. Maybe, I should clean them off" She made to wipe her face with a handkerchief but I stopped her. " Huh? No. They look beautiful on you" I replied abruptly with my gaze fixed on her. She was putting on a red long dinner gown with a slit by the side, revealing her long legs. She wore a light make up and her blue shadowed hair was tied up in a ponytail. "I got you" Luna suddenly burst out laughing. "I was never planning on wiping it off. Hello" I chuckled. This is one of the reasons I find Luna interesting. She is crazy and always gets whatever she wants. " You look beautiful whether on make up or not" I added. " Aww..thank you" she blushed. " You know what? I feel like I have just won a medal. You, Mark? Telling me such sweet words? Are you sick or something?" "Maybe" I replied and we both burst out laughing. I turned to my left only to see Red and Leah kissing. I thought Leah was supposed to be engaged?. Women will always remain the same. Cheats! "Eww" Isabel muttered. Looks like she saw that too. I beckoned unto the waiter and ordered for two glass cup of juice. He returned quickly with it and placed the two cups on the table. I turned right to see some people making out. I glanced at Luna and just as expected, she saw that too. I stared blankly at her and she gazed steadily back. "Maybe, we shouldn't turn to the left nor right". I advised. " Exactly" She agreed and noisily gulped down all the orange juice in the glass cup and I did same. Just then, Anna joined us in the table. "Hi Luna.. Hi Mark" She greeted, smiling. " Hi"
