Luna's POV
Mirabel had woken up one morning with joy radiating from her face.
When I asked her what could be behind so much happiness, she told me that she had a dream where she saw a human.
"A human?" I repeated with widened eyes.
"Yes. A male. And he looks so cute." She giggled.
" I think you have lost it" I shook my head.
" Yeah. I have lost my mind for him" She chuckled, blushing. " What if I go in search of him?"
"What?" I exclaimed in disbelief. "Get that thought off your head" I reprimanded.
I thought her madness was going to end there, but No! She went ahead to visit the most powerful seer in Mycon, requesting for the Divine pebble bracelet.
History has it that the bracelet is able to create a pathway to earth if used properly by the bearer.Not everyone can hold the bracelet.This powerful object can even kill it's bearer if it finds any fault in him or her.
Mirabel stubbornly held unto the bracelet after knowing all this, I am sure she was blinded by her infatuation for the earthling she saw in her dream.
At first, Nothing happened to her. She enchanted the sacred words, holding tight to the bracelet with her eyes closed.After some seconds into the ritual, blue lights emitted from the bracelet. A tunnel was formed. A tunnel into the human world.
Mirabel opened her eyes, smiling at the tunnel. Finally, she would be able to see her prince charming.Just as she ran to enter the tunnel pathway, there were flashes of lightning and she blacked out immediately.Even the tunnel disappeared.
Luckily, her maids found her on time and she was rushed to her room.
The royal doctor was summoned and after running many test on her body, he couldn't find out what could be wrong with her.
After two days she regained consciousness. But she was no longer the agile princess Mirabel everyone knows.She couldn't walk, she finds it difficult to eat and sometimes she suffers from difficulty in breathing.
But yesterday's attack was severe, she almost lost her life. After an intent look at her, I took a decision to go ahead with my only option to save my sister. It is a very dangerous plan but my hands are tied.
"What's wrong sister?" Mirabel said, bringing me out of my thoughts.
"Huh?" I exclaimed. "Uhm.. it's nothing" I lied. I was afraid to tell her the truth because I was scared that she might try to stop me and I don't want that.
" Are you sure? Why do I have a feeling that you are about to make a silly decision?" She insisted. I wasn't surprised that she could fathom my thoughts because I have taken many decisions during my emotional moments that I ended up regretting.
Just like when I agreed to get married to the prince of Zula because I was angry with my lover for refusing to show up on our engagement night.
"Please tell me what you are up to now. Please" she softly spoke.
I took a deep breath. Maybe I should tell her.
"I have thought of a way to save you" I dropped the bombshell.
She raised her eyebrows."Is there really a way to save me?" She asked, with expectations and great hope clearly written in her eyes.
" Yes. I visited the seer yesterday and she told me that there is a possibility that the royal lotus flower can save you. But it can only be effective when it comes in contact with the blood of a human with high spiritual energy" I explained.
" A human's blood?" She repeated in a loud tone that showed that she was trying to confirm if what she just heard was true or is her ears deceiving her.
" Yes." I nooded.
"Wait. Are you..."
"Yes." I cut in, reading her mind. "I am thinking of going to the humans planet"
" No.. you can't do that" Mirabel fired.
" Why?" I asked.
" Because it is dangerous. " She replied, stating the obvious. Mirabel has always been the soft and obedient daughter while I'm the stubborn one. Once I take a decision, it takes almost the impossible to make me change my mind, I always get what I want.
" Yeah I know. But I will do this for you, I can't sit and watch you slip out of my hands"
" Please don't. I am fine. Look at me, I am really fine" she forced a smile and struggled to stand up but fell back on the bed again.
"Is this what you call fine?" I rolled my eyes. " I am going on this mission and that is final" I said with finality in my voice.
" And mum?"
"What about mum?" I asked, feigning ignorance.
"You and I both know that she is never going to agree to this"
" And who said we are telling her?" I snapped. " Look. I know mum is probably going to freak out when she finds out about this later but you must never act as if you knew about it. Do you understand?"
" But..
"But what?"
" What if something happens to you?" She choked..
I let out a deep breath. "You know I am a strong girl. Nothing is going to happen to me. Just have faith in me okay?" I slowly spoke, staring into her eyes.
She hesitated. I pouted my lip, hoping it works and it did. She embraced me, crying. I couldn't continue acting strong so I broke down too and hugged her tightly.
"I will wait for you to come back okay. Please you must come back alive" she whimpered on my shoulder.
" I will. Promise me that you will stay alive until I come back"
" I will try to" she assured as we broke from the hug.
" You look ugly when you cry" I sniffed, wiping away my tears.She huffed a laugh also drying her tears.
"I have something to show you" Mirabel said, struggling to stand up.
" What is it? I will get it for you" I offered.
"Check under the bed, you will see a painting"
I nodded and stood up from the bed. I bent down to get the stuff but almost stumbled. Damn it! I would have called the maids to get the job done but I have a feeling that whatever that is under this bed will be disastrous if others gets to see it.
" Be careful sister"
I forced a smile at her and lifted up my gown to enable me bend down. This royal gown can really be frustrating and stressful. I can't wait to get rid of it and dress the way I have always wanted to. Simple but fancy.
"Can you do it?"
"Of course I can! Luna can do anything" I bragged and she burst out laughing.My royal gown was too long and heavy but after much struggle, I managed to get my hand under the bed. I ran my hands under the bed until I touched a wooden board.
*I think this is it!*
I dragged it out. It was not really heavy as I thought it would be.
"Found it" I exclaimed, standing up to my feet.She smiled.
"Look at the drawing" Mirabel said.
I turned the board over and was shocked at what I saw. "A human?" I exclaimed.
"Yes. This is the picture of my human prince charming. If you are opportuned to see him, give him a tight hug for me. I am sure I will hear the beat of his heart from here. " She giggled.
I gave her a stare.
" What?" She asked, feigning ignorance.
" You have really lost it" I shook my head.
" Please..."
"It's weird. I can't do that" I said defiantly. Who in their right senses would go around hugging people who they just met? And not just that, I am a princess and a princess has standards and cliques.
"What's weird?"
" Hugging someone whom I just met" I whined.
" I know..but it's not difficult for you. You can do it."
" No"
"Pleaseeeeeee" she held unto my arm, pouting her lip. I know that look, she always do that whenever she wants to make me succumb to her crazy wishes.
I heaved a sigh."Fine."
" Thank you" She giggled.
I pulled out one of my magical bracelet."Take this bracelet, I will use it to communicate with you when I am gone" I said, handing it over to her.
" Her Royal majesty, queen Jida has arrived" Mirabel's right hand man suddenly announced.
"Mum!" I and Mirabel chorused in unison.
