The plan

Luna's POV

My eyes were still focused on the interesting novel which I had gotten from Mark's library when the door bell suddenly rang.

"She is here" Mark announced, walking towards the door.

He suddenly stopped walking and turned to me. "I know you don't like Anna but please try to be nice okay?"

"Yes sir. Your wish is my command" I forced a smile.

He shook his head and walked out. Jerk!

I sauntered over to the mirror and took a glance at my image - I was disappointed at the poor looking image before me.

I picked up the brush which was lying carelessly on the dressing table and ran it through my long brown shadowed hair. I applied a light make up and tied up my hair in a ponytail.I have to look cute too. I know that Anna. She must have dressed like a bride who is visiting her groom for the first time.

I looked at the mirror and was satisfied with what I saw.

This was my chance to find out if Anna was in love with her fiance or not. If they are both in love then it would make my mission of activating the healing power of the red lotus flower more easy and fast.

I heard approaching footsteps and sounds of laughter. Here comes the two love birds.

I quickly sat on the couch and pretended to be reading the novel. I heard the door c***k opened.

I looked up to behold Mark and Anna with smiles plastered all over their faces. Anna was dressed in a blue, short and skimpy gown- revealing her perfectly carved hips and legs. Accompanied with heavy make up and a blue purse which looked quite expensive.

I stood up and walked over to them.

"Hi Anna" I waved at her smiling widely.

" Hi" she replied.

" Did you come alone?" I asked, staring at the door.

"Yes"

"Oh! I thought you would come with your fiance" I said, stressing the word Fiance.

" No..no..he had some important work to attend to" She chuckled nervously.

Liar! I am sure he isn't even aware that she was visiting another man in his house. I mean, how would she tell him that she would like to go visit her main lover?

"Please come have a seat" I gestured pointing towards the couch.

" Oh thank you" she grinned and sat down.

"Do make yourself comfortable" I smiled. " So what can I offer you? A drink? Anything?"

" What?..no..no. Thank you, I am fine"

Thank goodness she declined my offer. I couldn't even imagine myself serving her.

"Excuse me Anna. Luna come with me" Mark said and dragged me by my arms.

" What are you up to?" He asked with furrowed brows as soon as we were a few metres away from Anna.

I set my hand free from his grip."What do you mean by that?" I asked feigning ignorance.

"Why are you being so nice to her? That is unlike the Luna I know"

"Because you asked me to. Moreover, I have always been a nice person" I pouted my lip.

" Oh really" he scoffed. "Why do I feel that you are up no good? Could it be that you want to poison Anna?" He gasped.

" If I wanted to poison her, I would have done that a long time ago" I sneered. " So go and keep your lover friend accompanied. She is already staring daggers at me and you wouldn't want someone to dragg off my head right?"

" She is not a lover friend. She is just a friend" he reminded. " And one more thing, try not to be jealous"

He added walking off to join Anna on the couch.

Jealous? I can't believe this jerk. Not even in my dreams.

I sauntered over to the bed and sat down. I picked up the novel which I was reading before they entered the room. Since I had no one to talk to and obviously didn't want to join their stupid conversation, I decided to pay attention to the novel.

The novel was titled "The mermaid and the prince". I wondered what a mermaid could be doing with a human. Could it be that the mermaid left her kingdom to Earth just like me? How did she survive?

Filled with curiosity, I flipped open the novel and began reading. The novel was about a mermaid princess who fell in love with a human.

During one of her usual adventure to the surface of the river, she spots a human who seemed to be drowning. She rushed to save him just on time as he almost drown to the deeper part of the river. He was already unconscious and she had to quickly do the popular mouth to mouth technique to keep him alive as she assisted him to the surface of the water and laid him on the bank of the river.

As soon as she broke from the kiss, the human became conscious immediately and coughed out some mouthful of water. The mermaid princess quickly hid her face and jumped back into the water before the human could recognize her. She knew that humans were scared of mermaids and tends to hurt them whenever they see one.

"Hey wait" The Young billionaire called out as the mermaid swam away without even saying a good bye.

Just as the human was about to go after the mermaid, his bodyguards arrived.

I was still lost in the amazing story when I heard the annoying laughter of Mark and Anna. I looked up to see them closely seated.

Shameless!

I looked back into the book but the laughter came again. What the hell is wrong with this humans? I angrily flinged off the book on the bed and walked towards them.

I pushed the two of them apart and sat in between. "So tell me Mark, what is so funny that is making you laugh like someone who just won a jackpot? "

"Anna was telling me about her reaction when she first saw a hen for the first time" He giggled.

" Seriously? Is that what is making you laugh?" I snarled.

" Yes.. why? " He asked confused.

" Nothing" I forced a smile."Anna you can continue with the jokes"

"No need.. I don't have any jokes again"

Better!. I faked a serious cough.

"What is wrong, Luna?" Mark worriedly asked.

" Can't you see that I am choking?" I fired. "I need some water"

"Okay.. wait here, I will be back" he dashed out.

Good riddance!

" You can stop acting already, he is gone" Anna said making me flinch.

I raised my head up smiling mischievously.

" Why did you do that?" She asked and crossed her arm across her breast.

"Sorry but I like your bangle and I would like to have it but I don't know how to tell you without Mark thinking that I am behaving cheap..

That is why I had to do that." I stuttered.

" What? Are you kidding me?" She burst out laughing.

" Yes" I nooded. " Can I see it?"

She hesitated. And stretched forth her hand to me.
