Confirmed suspicions

Luna's POV

I reached out my right arm and invoked up the red lotus flower. The royal seer had hid it in my hand because the red lotus flower needs to feed on spiritual energy to keep being fresh. The red lotus flower had been plugged out of the ancestral pot which keeps it from drying up and the only way to keep it fresh is by feeding it with some spiritual energy.

So I am bound to suddenly feel weak or faint in the future because of the effect of the flower. I have to complete my mission before I end up losing my life. I brought out a pin and softly created a little cut on Anna and Martin's middle finger and placed the flower under their wounded fingers.

I silently prayed that it worked and watched in expectation as their blood slowly dropped on the flower. I heaved a sigh of relief as the blood which almost took forever finally dropped on the red bulb of the flower.

I blinked my eyes expecting a reaction from the flower. A spark of light, sounds, anything! But to my disappointment, nothing happened. Nothing! The flower just kept on staring at me in mockery.

What went wrong? I followed every process given to me by the seer, why the hell is it not yielding any results? Maybe, I should give it another shot.

I brought the flower again close to their bleeding fingers, the blood dropped on the flower and just like before - nothing happened. I closed my hand and the lotus flower disappeared. I was warned by the seer not to keep the flower away from my hand for too long or it would dry up and my mission would be aborted.

I touched the couple's bleeding finger and the blood stopped immediately. When I pulled off my hand, the wound was gone as well. They would never know that a pin was pierced into their skin.

I ran my hands through my hair trying to figure out what had gone wrong. Was the seer mistaken? No.. Zudani has been a seer to the royal family over the years and has never made a mistake in her divination or visions. Then why is everything going wrong?

Just then, it hit me. - could it be that Martin is not in love with Anna? I have checked Anna's love energy and it showed positive, I have to quickly check Martin's. I held unto his arm carefully searching for the vein that connects to his spiritual energy. In a split of seconds, I found it and laid my hand on it .

I quietly recite the love mantras and pressed my middle finger on the vein and this in turn arouse his love energy.

I looked at his eyes and to my astonishment, they had changed to red, dark red. He is in love! I pulled off my hand, confused.

They are both in love.. then why is it not working? The seer had told me that the lotus flower can only be activated by the blood of two couples who are in love with each other and this two are in love with..

Holly Molly! Could it be that one of them is in love with another person? I stared in bewilderment at the two lovely couple who were supposed to get married soon. One of them is pretending and lying to the other person. Who could it be?

Martin or Anna?

This was disastrous! I had to find out whoever was pretending among them and stop this marriage or it will be too late.

I suddenly saw Mark's hand move. Looked like they were conscious again. I quickly laid down on the couch and pretended to be asleep too.

After a while, I felt a tap on my shoulder. " Wake up Luna" Mark muttered.

I slowly opened my eyes to see the trio with confused look on their faces. I faked a yawn rubbing my supposed bleary eyes as I sat upright.

"What happened to me? I feel so tired" Anna complained.

" How did I suddenly sleep off? I am so freaking confused" Martin whined.

" I guess you became bored of the movie and fell asleep just like I did" I threw in hoping it helps to reduce his suspicions.

"I guess so too but it is weird you know? I have never slept off while watching this movie neither do I find it boring" He ran his hand through his hair.

" Let's stop complaining already.. It is not bad to have a nice rest right? "

" Exactly.. mum always told me that a cool siesta is perfect for the body" Mark chirped in.

I glanced at him smiling. Are those words coming from his mouth? For the first time, he had finally agreed with me on something. This must be a miracle.

"What?" He fired.

"Nothing.. I am just wondering why you always snore whenever you sleep" I teased and they all bursted out laughing.

Mum had taught me many ways to control people's minds. She believed that as a head princess, I should be well equipped because the journey is bound to be rough. In the second rule of how to ease a tense environment- come up with something that can distract their minds.

That is what I just did now. And it worked because I knew Mark was never going to let this slip.

"Snore? Hey! I don't snore.. who was the one that kept on snoring like a pig each night and would not let me sleep peacefully? " He sneered.

" Pig? Did you just call me a pig? "

" You just said that yourself" He shrugged.

" You...

"Wait.. wait! Enough of the arguments. I wonder how you two manage to stay together in one room without suffocating each other" Martin shook his head.

But that might happen sooner than later because each time I look at that jerk, I kept on having the urge to strangle him.

"Okay guys.. I will be leaving now, my attention is needed in the office" Martin announced standing to his feet.

"Alone? Aren't you going with Anna?" I quickly chirped in.

Anna shot me a hard stare.

Look at her! Sitting so comfortably on the couch and waiting for Martin to leave so she could continue flirting with Mark. Sorry baby doll, because I am about to ruin your plans.

Martin turned to Anna. "Babe are you going with me or do you want to spend more time here?"

"Of course she would want to go with you because I am about to go and visit my friend and she wouldn't want to stay in this boring room, alone with Mark right?" i said before Anna could reply.

Poor Martin! He is so softhearted and doesn't look like someone who could cheat on his partner. Just the way he trust and look at Anna, I could swear with my throne that he must be madly in love with her.

But I can't say the same for Anna. I don't just like the lady.

"Luna is right. I have delivered the news I came for, so I am going with you" Anna forced a smile.

" I will escort you guys out" Mark said.

" Sure. You can go with Martin. I want to have a word with Isabel here, I will join you guys soon"

" If you say so" He shrugged, walking out with Martin.

"What is your problem young lady?" Anna fired as soon as they left.

" Problem? " I repeated, confused. "I can't remember telling you that I have one"

"Then why do you keep on getting on my way? "

"Your way? I don't understand what you mean by that"

" Oh stop acting dumb. I am sure you have already noticed that I like Mark"

Oh! She is now finally showing off her true colors.

"Of course I do! I know that you like Mark as a friend" I grinned, feigning ignorance.

Rule number four on how to catch a criminal; Allow him to own up to his own crimes with his mouth and then, you can now hold him by his words.

"What friend? I am in love with Mark dumbass" She fired. " And stop acting as if you are not aware because I notice that you keep on trying to push me away from him and it is really pissing me off"

I raised my eyebrows. I was not surprised. I was just confused. Why in the world would she want to get married to a man she doesn't love.

"If you are in love with Mark, why then do you want to get married to Martin?"

" Who said, I am going to get married to Martin? " She chuckled.

" What do you mean by that? "

" It is none of your business. I am in love with Mark and I will do anything to make him mine so just stay off and don't try to interfere with my plans or you would be ruined" she threatened.

That was kind of funny but I was more curious to find out why she got into a relationship with Martin at the first place.

"Did you fall in love with Mark after getting into a relationship with Martin? Or.."

I hope it is not what I was thinking? She couldn't be that cruel right?

"You are indeed smart. Yes your guess is right. I had fallen for Mark even before I said yes to that annoying Martin" she bursted out laughing as I felt my jaw dropped in shock.
