Peter's POV

"Good morning honey" Sarah greeted.

I ignored her and turned back to what I was doing - I didn't want to ruin my morning. Just then, I suddenly felt a hand wrapped around my waist, making me flinch.

"Hey darling. Why are you ignoring your beautiful and sexy wife? " Sarah softly spoke into my ear.

But I felt dead. The urge to grab her and s*x her to her satisfaction was no longer there. I just couldn't feel it - rather I felt suffocated.

I guess it is because she is not Diana, Dave's mom. Diana was the love of my life, I really loved her with all my heart and I still do. I didn't mean to cheat on her neither can I explain what happened between me and Sarah that night..

The only thing I could remember was getting drunk only to wake up to see Sarah next to me naked. Who would believe such a story? No one right? So I gladly bear the fact that I am a cheat and my son hates me for that.

I was brought back to reality when I felt a hand run through my hairy chest and down to my hands, planting soft kisses on my neck.

"Stop it Sarah. Can't you see I am preparing for work?" I said a bit curtly, as I gently set myself free from her grip.

"What is wrong Peter? Why do you keep on pushing me away each time I try to get close to you? " She sadly asked.

I kept mute. I am sorry but unfortunately, I don't love her and I can't envision myself making love to another woman apart from my first love, Diana.

Maybe with time I will learn to accept that Diana will no longer come back to me. I will learn to accept this woman before me but till then there is nothing I can do but to keep on pushing her away.

"Are you even listening to me?" She growled bringing me out of my thoughts. "I am your wife and I deserve to be treated like a woman"

" You keep on saying you are my wife- yes I know! And I am not disputing that fact but you and I both know the reason why I married you" I almost yelled. " So don't make things harder for us"

I could see pains in her eyes.

" Look Sarah, I am sorry that I am hurting you but I am just being sincere. I only allowed you to live with me because of our son Daniel and you know that. I only see you as my son's mother and nothing more"

" Are you still in love with her?" She asked as tears welled up in her eyes.

"Let us don't have this conversation. Go change and come down for breakfast while I do the same"

" No! I want to have this god damn conversation now" she snarled. "Why are you doing this? Is this because of Mark? Are you ignoring me because you are worried that he would hate you more if he finds out that we still sleep together?"

"Don't involve my son in this!" I fired. " I thought you promised to take Mark as your own son? Why did you threaten to throw him out of this house if he fails to pay up his rent? What the hell is wrong with you? What exactly is your problem?"

" You Peter! You are my problem" Sarah yelled exasperatingly, pointing her right finger at me. "All you care about is Mark and his mum. What about me? I am also a part of your family you know"

"Please stop your nonsense, I am not in the mood for this. This is the last time you would treat my son like an outsider. The next time this happens again, I won't go lightly on you" I warned.

" You are a bastard and you will pay for all this constant rejection" She roared and walked out.

Phew! Looks like she woke up on the wrong side of the bed. I shrugged and returned back to choosing a cloth I would wear to work.

Luna's POV

I and Mark sauntered over to the dining table and to our excitement, the table was already set with different kinds of food and fruits - with no one around.

I swallowed hard as smile clouded my face. Finally, I will be able to eat all the good foods that Sarah has been eating alone.

"Sit down" Mark gestured, bringing out one of the seats. I sat down and he sat on the next chair, beside mine.

"So which of the foods are we going for first?"

Before he could complete the sentence, I have already pounced on one of the large plates that contains a chicken enchilada soup.

"You have already start eating? Jeez! Can you eat slowly? "

" Nah! I have a feeling that your evil step mom might come out anytime soon and try to spoil this moment. So I am taking advantage of this opportunity" I said with a mouthful of soup.

Before he could complete the sentence, we heard some approaching footsteps. We looked up to see Kelvin staring at us with a confused look.

"Talking of the devil and he appears" Mark muttered.

They shot each other a dead glare as Daniel joined us on the table.

"Hey Dan. Good morning" I giggled.

" Hi. You decided to join breakfast today? "

" Yes. Why? You don't want me to? "

" Of course not! I am so happy that you are here" he smiled.

" Thank you. You are so sweet" I grinned.

Mark suddenly coughed. I knew he wanted me to stop talking and I did just that and brought my focus back to the enchilada soup.

Just when the dining table became as quiet as a graveyard, we heard a familiar voice which made us looked up with widened eyes. It was Sarah.

"What the hell is going on here?" She asked for the second time.

"Good morning Sarah. Hope you had a nice rest?" I forced a smile.

" Yes I did but my day is about to be ruined because of your miserable faces" Sarah sneered.

" Stop it mum" Daniel interrupted.

"Why should I stop it when these people won't just leave this house and let us be ? "

I scoffed. She is so lucky that Daniel was here, I wouldn't have hesitated to put her in her rightful place but I couldn't. I didn't want to make Daniel my enemy - I had to win his complete trust and make him believe I am not against his mum.

Sarah's most precious item is Daniel. What could be more interesting than turning her own precious pet against her..

"I am so happy that you guys decided to join us today and I hope things continues this way" Sarah suddenly said and sat on one of the seats.

I raised my eyebrows, confused. But my confusion was cleared when I caught sight of Mr Peter walking towards the dining table, neatly dressed in a red suit.

"Good morning sir" I greeted as soon as he joined us on the table.

"Good morning Luna. it is a pleasure to have breakfast with you guys this morning" He replied, excitedly.

" Thank you sir"

"Good morning Dad" Kelvin greeted.

"Good morning son" He replied and glanced at Mark who was still focused on the plate of food before him.

I secretly tapped him and he looked up abruptly. "What are you doing? You haven't greeted your dad" I whispered.

" Why should I do that?" He hushed.

" Have you forgotten your plans to snatch everything from your step brother, including your dad's love."

After much hesitation, he muttered a " Good morning"

" Good morning son.. it's been a while I hear that from you.."

I could feel the joy in Mr Peters voice. I have to fasten my plan to unite this father and son but that can only be possible if Sarah is out of the picture.

"I hope you guys would continue to join us to eat together like a family right?" Sarah interrupted.

"Don't get me wrong. Just because I am here eating with all of you doesn't mean we are cool now. You are not my family and will never be one" Mark fired.

" Don't be harsh dear. I know that I am just your stepmom but you are just like a son to me you know? " Sarah softly spoke. " And I am really sorry for the way I treated you guys yesterday. I don't know what got into me"

I let out a loud cough and that made Mark to stop talking and turned to me. "Are you okay?" He worriedly asked.

"How can I be okay when you are trying to ruin my plans? Can't you see that Sarah is trying to act like the good one here and make you look like the bad one'" I whispered to only his hearing.

" Okay! Fine. I and Luna will join you guys for not just breakfast only but lunch and dinner too" Mark announced.

My frown turned into a smile. I have finally gotten a free access to eat this family's delicious meals.

"Thank you son.. Thank you" Mr Peters exclaimed. " And Luna, thank you. I am so lucky to have you as my daughter in law"

" Daughter in law? " Kelvin repeated in disbelief. " Luna is just a friend to Mark and nothing more"
