the journey behind my smile

woke up this morning feeling refreshed as though I am living my dream life. After the advice Mark gave me last night, It seems my hope is renewed. I have been living my life in fear and unfulfillment. After my dad passed away, mom had to fend for us but it hasn't been easy for her. I had to leave my poor mom to go stay with my uncle; Living with him was supposed to be a step to my success,h rather it became the worst decision of my life. FLASHBACK mom said, Ella your uncle called and has accepted that you come stay with him . I was thrilled in my heart as I could not imagine myself leaving the country side to the big City! Could this be my dream coming true? I have always wished I to go to the big City while dad was alive; so that I would become a rich, sophisticated and independent woman . mom helped me pack my luggage, even though she sounded devastated because I was her only family after dad died. But it was something beyond my control, I had to leave so I can make a better future for us . while I was leaving, mom cried and hugged me and I gave a peck and also promised to always reach out to my sweet mom. when I got to my uncles place, the building was such a beautiful mansion to behold . I was welcomed by his beautiful wife Bridget and his lovely daughter Lucy. She(Lucy) showed me around and took me to my room. It was cozy! I could feel the refreshment of a new environment for some reasons I wished mom was here with me. I promised myself that I would get mom something better than this someday . I called mom and told her how my journey went and how beautiful the city was . She was happy I arrived safely . after we spoke, I took my shower and went downstairs for dinner. after dinner I had a little chat with Lucy then I went upstairs to unpack.after unpacking, I lay on the bed and slept off.I was really tired because it was such long journey so it looked more like I passed out. It was morning, and I remembered vividly I had slept off last night after unpacking . So I didn't know when my uncle returned because his wife said he went for a meeting and would return late. I went downstairs to say hi to him;but didn't find anyone. Jane ( our cook), told me that my uncle had gone out with Lucy and Bridget for shopping . I went back upstairs, had my bath and came down for breakfast .not quite long after I had my breakfast , they returned . I greeted them and my uncle complimented me saying I had grown into a beautiful young woman. I responded shyly to him 'Thanks Uncle' we had a little chat about home and how I and mom were able to cope in the countryside. Days went by, and I was getting tired of staying at home . This was not what I want for myself, I want to take a step forward in order to support my poor mom. so I decided to talk to my Uncle about it . And this was actually the day everything started . It was the day my dreams began to shatter! So when I told him; I needed to go find something doing he and his wife said they already had discussed it and had concluded that I come work at my Uncle's hotel as a waitress . I accepted because I had also decided to get myself a waiter job. I thanked them and promised never to let them down.
