Chapter Thirteen

The moment I woke up and saw it was 10:20 am, I jumped out of bed and hurried to the shower. When I was all cleaned up and my hair was washed, I put my Valentine's day party gown on. My Valentine's day party gown is Ruby Red with white hearts, it is silky and fits perfectly at the top and waist, is sleeveless, has rubies and diamonds decorating the waistline, flows from my waist down to my ankles, shimmers in the light and swirls out far around my waist when I spin in a circle. I slid my white open-toed heels on. When my hair was completely dry, I curled it into tiny curls that hung around my face and shoulders. Then pinned some curls back, so they don't get in my eyes. Did my makeup. Put a ruby necklace on, some diamond earrings, a ruby ring on my left index finger, a diamond ring on my right middle finger and a couple red and white gemmed bracelets. Then I added a touch of perfume to my neck, wrists and party gown. I also added a touch of glitter to my cheek bones. Looking at my reflection in the mirror, I smiled.

Then I saw a shadow in the hallway by my bedroom. I ignored it. I figured it was just Isabella trying to surprise me again. So, I went to my nightstand, by my bed, to grab my phone, keys and purse. Right as I went to turn around, I felt hands on my hips. As I turned around I knew Nathan was behind me.

"Well, hello, handsome. I thought I was meeting you at the party," I looked at the time on my phone, 11:56 am. "In about four minutes."

"Hello, to you too, beautiful. I thought I'd bring you there in my truck, so you wouldn't have to drive."

"That sounds good to me. Which means you'll be staying here again tonight, after the party?"

"If that's what you want, then that's what will happen. So, put your keys back and let's get to that party." He kissed me and held out his hand, which I took in mine. "Lead the way."

I smiled and kissed Nathan when I saw his truck. It's white, but he decorated it with red and pink hearts for Valentine's day, today.

"It's lovely." I said as Nathan opened the door for me and helped me into his truck.

"I knew you would like it."

"Wait. I can't forget everyone's gifts I got."

"Right. I will put them in the back of my truck."

"Okay. They're in my guest bedroom. The one right down the hall from my bedroom."

"Alright." Nathan had to make two trips to bring all the gifts out. I'm glad the gift I got for Nathan, that I had Isabella pick up for me yesterday, was small enough to fit in my purse. "Okay. That's all the gifts. Shall we get over there then?"

"Yes. We shall get over there."

During the ride over to the town hall I talked to Nathan about each of my love songs, but the one I wrote for him yesterday, to see which ones I should sing at the party. When we got there he wouldn't let me get out of his truck by myself.

"You just wait for me to go around and help you out. Okay?"

"Okay." I grabbed my phone and purse, then let Nathan help me down from his truck. He gave me a kiss before letting my feet touch the ground. "Well. Aren't you a gentleman and very sweet."

"Aww. Thank you."

I walked into the town hall and was nearly trampled by my family. My crew came over to me then, along with Willow and her family. I smiled and grabbed Nathan's hand behind my back. Nathan squeezed my hand and I cleared my throat, to get everyone's complete attention. When they all stopped talking I stepped back to stand next to Nathan.

"This is my special someone I was talking about to you mom, dad and Anthony."

"Wait. Why did you just say me, mom and dad?"

"Because Isabella caught him leaving my house yesterday morning, before we came over to mom and dad's house." Everyone looked at Isabella like it was her fault she didn't say anything. "Hey. Don't look at Isabella like that. I made sure he would be a surprise. She silently promised me she wouldn't say anything. So, it's my fault not hers."

Nathan looked down at me and smiled.

"Hi. I'm Nathan. Nathan Brooks."

"Nice to meet you, Nathan." My mom and dad said.

"Well, sis. I guess this is good. You won't be a loner anymore. Nathan's now in your life to keep you company and make you an even better version of yourself. It's nice to have another man in the family, too. It's overrun by women. It's great to finally figure out Grace's special someone, Nathan."

"It's nice to meet Grace's family."

Sergeant McMiller shows up just then.

"Sorry to interrupt whatever is going on here, but I believe Grace was gonna sing her love songs with her crew. Am I mistaken?"

"No. Sergeant McMiller. You're right. So, guys, let's get on stage and go over what we'll be singing. Nathan. I'll be back."

"Go do your thing, Grace. I'm not going anywhere."

"Good." I gave him a kiss and went on stage with my crew. "Okay. What do you guys think about singing 'Let me love you', 'I'll give you my heart', 'One true love' and my new love song I wrote yesterday, 'This love'? I'll sing my new love song 'This love', but I need all of you to go along with me. Are we good?"

"It all sounds good. So, let's get out there. The Team of Music on three?"

I put my hand in and everyone placed their hand on top of mine. We all smiled.
