As everyone clapped and cheered me and my crew discussed what we're going to do for my final song 'This love', that I just wrote yesterday and they haven't heard yet. When everyone was quiet and waiting for me to speak to them, and my crew knew what to do, I spoke to everyone.
"My final song 'This love' is a new one. I just wrote it yesterday. My new song 'This love' is dedicated to my boyfriend, Nathan Brooks. I love you, Nathan. Everyone ready?"
"Yeah!" Everyone shouted and I saw Nathan blow me a kiss as he walked to the front of everyone on the dance floor to be closer to me.
"We're ready when you are, Grace." My crew said.
"Okay. Three. Two. One." I counted down, then began.
"That day, when our eyes met, I didn't know what to say or do. I was so embarrassed for running into you. I couldn't believe my eyes. It's like we were pulled together by a couple ties. When you looked at me, as I looked at you, it was love at first sight. Aren't I right?
“This love that we share. This love is going nowhere. This love is a kind of love I've never felt before. This love is from deep in my core. This love will never be broken. This love is like a token. This love will be forever yours. This love will take us on tours.
“When we shared our first night together, my mind was made up. You're my forever. You are my happily ever after. I'm happier now that you're in my life. Never have I been this happy and in love before we met. This love I feel for you fills my heart with joy.
"I laugh more. I smile more. I feel alive more. All from this love. From this love that created a positive reaction to my crazy life. It's this love that has changed my perspective of being single. Being single gives me more freedom. But, this love has altered my world to be so much more better for me. I love you, baby.
“This love that we share. This love is going nowhere. This love is a kind of love I've never felt before. This love is from deep in my core. This love will never be broken. This love is like a token. This love will be forever yours. This love will take us on tours.
“I get butterflies whenever you're around. It's like we are bound. Bound to be together. Each day I spend with you is like Spring weather. They're bright and full of power. Full of blooming love, like a blooming flower.
“This love is something I've dreamed of. This love is like a beautiful white dove. It's this love that's made me better. With this love, I give you my heart. This love has helped me prosper. This love keeps me full of joy. This love, this love. This. Love. Love. Love. This love. There's nothing better than this love. Yes, this love.”
James, Asia, Summer and Austin finished playing the music with a creative end to it. Me, Daphenie, Savannah, Davis, Nate, Andrew and Rick posed just as the music stopped. Everyone began clapping and cheering really loudly. People even whistled at us.
Suddenly, Nathan jumps on stage and pulls me to him. As we kiss everyone starts cheering again. Once they all went quiet again, I motioned my crew to gather around me. When they did, we bowed and Willow and her husband closed the curtains.
Walking off stage I was swarmed by my family and relatives. They were all talking over each other I couldn't understand anything any of them were saying. I looked at Nathan. Nathan looked at me and then at my family and relatives. Everyone finally went quiet. But not until after Nathan cleared his throat.
“Can you all talk one at a time, so we can understand and hear what you are all saying clearly?” When they all nodded Nathan continued. “Thank you. Now, Grace? Who should talk first?”
“Mom and dad. What did you have to say?” I asked.
“We just wanted to say that those songs were beautiful. They were so heart-warming and full of emotion. We especially liked your new song ‘This love', that you wrote for Nathan. We could see how much you love him when you were singing that song. So, Nathan. Don't break our daughter’s heart. Or you'll be sorry.”
“Understood. But, just so you know, I don't plan on breaking Grace’s heart. She means too much to me for me to break her heart.” Nathan said.
“That's great to hear.” My dad said, smiling at me.
“Okay. Anthony? You look like you are going to burst from waiting to say something. So. Anthony, what did you want to say?”
“Grace. You looked incredible. Your songs were perfect for this party. Now. Your new song. With each part you sang I could feel the emotion in the music and the lyrics. That being said, Nathan. If you do anything that causes my sister to be in any type of pain, you will regret it.”
“Geez, Anthony. I think that's enough threats for Nathan. Aunt June? Did you have something to say?”
“Other than you are one special and gifted woman, no. I didn't have anything to say.”
“Well, then. Uncle Stefan. Did you want to say something?”
“Yes. I agree with your Aunt June. You are definitely one special and gifted woman. You prove it every time you're on a stage performing. Grace, you are by far the most talented woman I know. Sorry, June.”
“It's okay, Stefan. I agree.”
“Well, thank you. That means a lot. Peter? Is that you? You look so much older and taller than I remember.”
“Hi, Grace. It's been a long time. I may be older and taller than you remember, but you are more beautiful and more talented than I remember.”
“You thought I was beautiful, back when we would see each other often?”
“Yes. I never liked to admit it. But, yes, I did.”
“Wow. I always thought you didn't think I was beautiful. You would always meanly joke around about my looks.”
“I remember. I'm sorry. I did that so you wouldn't take your beauty for advantage. I wanted you to be you without having to put yourself out there and show off more of your beauty than needed.”
“That makes sense. I guess. And I accept your apology. Who's the little one hiding behind your legs? Is she yours?”
“Yes. She's my daughter. Amarrie, say hi to my cousin, Grace. Can you say hi?”
“Hi, Grace.” Amarrie said shyly, then looked up at Peter. “Daddy, can I go see her?” Amarrie whispered to Peter.
“Yes. You can go see Grace. It's okay.” Peter whispered back to Amarrie. Then Amarrie ran over to me and threw her arms around my legs.
“Hi, Amarrie. It's nice to meet you.” I said.
