Two months had passed, and August was still locked in her room, only allowing Jamal in when he had information about Mateo. She had given up on pregnancy a month ago. Despite obtaining Mateo's number, every call ended the same. He hung up as soon as he heard her voice. Becky couldn't reach him either. August felt trapped, her room a prison, and Mateo the key she couldn't turn.

"Jamal, what do we do about Miss August?" Mary, our housekeeper, asked.
"I don't know," I replied, "I think we should just give her more time."
"There is no time. She's becoming obsessed," Mary insisted. "And two days ago, since you said you wouldn't help her with Mateo, she hasn't eaten anything."
"What do you mean she hasn't eaten? Why am I just hearing about this now?"
"I thought she would eventually come around, that's why I didn't tell you. Plus, if I had told you, you would have ended up giving in to her. This is getting too unhealthy; she has to stop," Mary explained.
I rushed upstairs to August's room and found her in a terrible condition. "Miss... Miss... Can you hear me?" I asked, noticing her eyes rolling her back, her body temperature rising.
"August," I called out, lightly slapping her cheeks. "Call 911 now," I said to Mary.
Just then, August grabbed my sleeve and shook her head. "No, please don't. I don't want my dad to find out," she pleaded.
"Well, too bad. I have to make sure you live," I said, pulling my hand away. I went out and called Mr. William.
"Sir, August is in pretty bad condition. I will send her to the hospital now," I informed him.
"I will be there," he replied from the other side of the phone.
I stood by August's unconscious body as Mr. William rushed towards me. "How is she? Where is she?" he asked urgently.
"She's stable now," I replied, trying to keep my voice steady. "She should be awake soon."
Mr. William turned to the doctor who had just arrived. "What happened?" he demanded.
"Good day, Mr. Walton," the doctor greeted, extending his hand. "Your daughter is stable now. Can we talk in my office?"
"Sure, lead the way," Mr. William said, following the doctor.
Once in the office, the doctor turned to us with a grave expression. "I have news for you. I don't know if this might be good or bad news, but your daughter is pregnant. Two months pregnant."
The color drained from my face as I turned rigid. "Pregnant? She's pregnant," I repeated, my voice barely a whisper.
"What do you mean pregnant? My daughter doesn't have a boyfriend," Mr. William said, his shock evident.
"I checked twice just to be sure," the doctor replied. "Do you know anything about this?" he asked me.
"No, sir, I don't," I said.
"Thank you, doctor," Mr. William said, as we headed back to the VIP room, his mind undoubtedly reeling from the unexpected news.
Mr. William Walton sat beside August, his hand gently caressing her hair. "Do you think she did this just to spite me?" he asked, his voice filled with confusion and sadness. "It's been two years... I thought she had moved on already. What do I do? Melanie would curse me from her grave. I promised her I was going to make sure August was happy, but I can't even do a thing for her."
He turned his head to the side, trying to hide his tears that were already flowing.
"Do you know who it might be?" he asked me.
"No, I don't," I replied, trying to sound as composed as possible.
"What have you been up to?" he asked, his voice tinged with suspicion.
"I don't understand, sir," I tried to lie.
"I know she asked you to search for someone. Who is it?" he pressed.
I sighed. "It's Mateo," I said.
He turned sharply to me. "Mateo? As in Sterling's group heir?" he asked, disbelief evident in his voice.
"Yes," I replied, unsure of how he would react.
"What are you up to, August?" he whispered, then kissed her forehead before standing up. "You stay, I will be back," he said as he walked out.
Just as I was about to sit down, August's eyes flashed open. "August, are you okay?" I asked, reaching out to touch her.
She pulled back. "You told him, right? You promised you wouldn't," she said, staring at me with eyes full of betrayal.
"He was going to look into it if I didn't tell him," I tried to explain.
"You liar," she muttered. "I begged you," she said, raising her voice a little. "August, your dad cares a lot about you..." I started, but she didn't let me finish.
"Get out," she said. "And it's Miss Walton for you. Don't ever call me August again," she added, her voice cutting.
"Yes, Miss Walton," I replied, feeling the weight of her disappointment as I walked out.
"I hate you so much," she said, just before I closed the door.

August sighed as she picked up the phone to call Becky. "Hi, Beck," she said. "Guess what?"
"You're pregnant?" Becky asked.
"Yes!" August exclaimed. "But now that I am pregnant, I'm kind of having a bad feeling about this. Also, your idea of contacting him did not work. I called him so many times that I can bet he hears my voice in his dreams, but he still does not want to talk to me."
"Since that did not work, the pregnancy idea is perfect," Becky said excitedly. "Go to meet him and tell him you are pregnant with his baby. If he still does not warm up to you, then you can let your dad know. He does business with Mateo's dad, so he should be able to tell his dad that his son got you pregnant, and they are going to set up a wedding for you both," she explained, giggling.
"Wow, that's a perfect idea," August said, impressed by Becky's plan.
"Thank you Bec," she said as she hung up the call.
