Chapter 7: Work load

"SIX f*****g HOURS!" I have been behind my desk for six hours doing pack related stuff I've gotten behind on.Even though I dread it,it has to be done. I came into my office at five a.m. just to at least put a dent in all of the paperwork I had in front of me. I thought that I would have a chance to get out of here by twelve noon,but now it's going on 4 o'clock.

I usually try to stay on top of pack business,but with rogue attacks and making sure my businesses were doing well,I found myself truly far behind.Not being able to put it off any longer,I took today off to clear out my work load.

If someone told me years ago that being an alpha was easy,I'd call them a lying "Son-Of-A-b***h",along with a good punch to the nose. But my job is very rewarding and I take it very seriously. The people of the Luna blood moon pack are loyal and a very well organized group of people. I am always truly honored to call myself their alpha.

My pack is the second largest and strongest pack,next to the RISEN MOON PACK,which belongs to the Alpha king himself,Kane Blackwood. King Kane as they call him,is the oldest and longest ruling king and alpha in all of were history.The gotdamn man is one hundred and forty two years old,but doesn't look a day over 25.

There has been plenty of stories of how he became the powerful immortal that he is,but people are too afraid and intimidated to get the real truth of the matter. Either way,he has an even longer road ahead of him as king,since he hasn't found his mate that would bare the heir that would eventually take his place.

But recently to my lack of knowlege,I was shocked,yet extremely happy to find out that my king and friend had just recently found his mate. I was even more shocked to find out that she was human.

It is rare,but not uncommon to have a human mate. Sometimes the Moon Goddess mates humans to higher ranking wolves,such as Alphas and betas. Some don't accept the bond and end up rejecting their mates,believing that she is too weak to keep as a mate or Luna. Alphas tend to want a strong she wolf from a strong alpha or beta bloodline,to ensure that their heir and children are strong enough to carry on the family legacy and alpha title.

Then you have the ones who don't give a damn about the title and status of their mates.They are just happy to have finally found them,especially when they also know that their mates rank automatically goes up after being fully marked and mated.

They look like at it as a blessing from the moon goddess,and who are they to go against what she set in place.

The mate bond is sacred and highly sought after by my kind,and we didn't take it too lightly. There were only a few exceptions why one would refuse their mate.Some didn't want a low ranking mate,or some refused to live with the thought of the moon goďdes choosing their fate.

For the ones that chose the denial of the bond due to that reason,ran the risk of losing their wolf to the broken bond,if they weren't strong enough. They also ran the risk of not having

another mate given to them again.

Now if you are wrongfully rejected by your mate,with no fault from your side,some of us are given what we call a second chance mate. The moon goddess gives you a second chance at

love with the new mate.

Even though king Kane has along road ahead of him,seeing as though his mate is a human and you have to eventually explain to her what we are and what a bond is,I wish him the upmost best with his mate,and truly look forward to the news of the little king they'll have one day.

Shaking off all these muddled up thoughts,I decided to finally get back to my initial task at hand. I had to finish this work today at all costs.
