EJ is Eighteen
Alexander was humming with energy standing in his room with EJ. Elise and I were trying not to smirk. I knew Alexander was happy, but we were also missing Cassie. She’d gone dark on a mission. She’d left a week before our eighteenth birthday. She should’ve been back today. Our eighteenth birthday party was today. We’d delayed it hoping Cassie would be back, but so far....nothing. Elise’s phone rang and she stepped out of the room. I saw who was calling. It was Melanie. Alexander asked me, “What about this shirt?” I rolled my eyes, “I think that is the sixteenth shirt you’ve asked me about. I think it’s just as nice as the other fifteen little brother. Why are you changing your shirt so much?” Alexander flushed, “I….I just want the shirt to be perfect.” I raised an eyebrow, “Why?” I listened to hear Elise talking on the phone, but she must have gone into my room. All our rooms were charmed so you couldn’t hear us. I was growing impatient. Her birthday was coming up too. Then she’d be with me forever. I’d never have to leave her side again. My room would become ours. She’d already started leaving some stuff here.
I sighed, “Come on little brother. Just tell me. Somewhere inside you….you want to tell me. I know you do.” Alexander looked down, “I need a new shirt. This one isn’t right.” I rolled my eyes, “No you don’t.” He’d already conjured a new shirt. A pale green shirt. The color of Melanie’s eyes. I’m sure Jason had described her eyes before. I raised an eyebrow, “That’s a unique color little brother.” Alexander flushed, “But it looks nice right?” I told him, “If you change your damn shirt one more time….I’ll fight you until you tell me what the heck your problem is.” Alexander looked up, “I can beat you in a fight, big brother.” I smirked, “I don’t plan to fight fair.” Alexander snorted, “Whatever man.” I raised an eyebrow, “Are we sticking with this shirt or are we heading to the gym?”
Elise came back in. Alexander sighed, “I guess…Elise thank god. Does this shirt look ok? Wait...what’s wrong?” Elise was wiping tears from her eyes. Her phone rang before she could answer. I wrapped my arms around her. She answered, “Dad….but….” I cursed the day I charmed her phone. She sighed, “It’s not fair. You know she wouldn’t dad.” I locked eyes with Alexander. He deflated completely. Elise screamed in frustration, “I don’t know why...I know that….I just know this...you know why this isn’t true. Dad…..FINE! But this is ridiculous. I don’t know what’s going on, but I’m over it. I WILL get to the bottom of this once and for all.” She hung up the phone and threw it at the wall. Alexander was vibrating. I said, “Little brother…..” Elise sighed, “Melanie got grounded. She’s devastated she can’t come to the party.” I sighed, “Why did she get grounded?” Elise sighed, “Uncle Christopher’s border patrol said they saw her cross the border. The older kids are saying they dared her. Since one of those kids is Charline…..everyone thinks that’s crap. There are ten warriors who saw her cross though. Sam and Drake asked her why but….” I sighed, “But she said it wasn’t her.”
Elise sighed, “I don’t understand what’s going on. I know she’s not lying, but ten warriors wouldn’t lie.” Alexander spoke, “I’ll be back.” I frowned, “Where are you going little brother?” Alexander’s eyes were flicking back and between black. I waited. Finally Alexander said, “To see Uncle Bjourn.” I frowned, “Be back for the party please.” Alexander snorted, “Why?” I frowned, “Cassie might make it back. She’ll want to see you. Mom worked really hard on the party. Angela….will be sad if you aren’t there.” Alexander snorted, “I’m sure she knows I’ll be there, or she’d pop in here convincing me to come back for it. I just need…” I gritted my teeth, “Space. Got it. Just so you aware….I’m running out of goddamn space Alexander.” My brother clenched his jaw but nodded. He popped away. Elise started sobbing. I held her tightly, “It’s ok.” She cried, “Why doesn’t this ever work out? I should’ve just stayed there with her. That way they wouldn’t say she was lying. If I was with her….they’d know she hadn’t done it.” I frowned, “We will get it figured out.” Elise frowned, “How? We had Cassie question the warrior’s last time. They said they saw her.” EJ frowned, “I know, but Cassie didn’t get to talk to Melanie. She was gone by the time Cassie got back. Just because they believe they saw Ladybug doesn’t mean they did. I believe her too, Elise. Something is going on there.”
Elise sighed, “Poor Alexander.” I sighed. Poor all of us. He’d be moody for the rest of time at this rate. My dad walked Alexander’s room frowning. He sighed, “What happened? Your mom popped to Alexander, but he was already in the gym with your uncle. She’s worried.” I sighed, “Well, I don’t officially know but Melanie can’t come to the party. She’s grounded.” My dad ran a hand through his hair, “The border again?” Elise sneered, “Charline dared her.” My dad raised an eyebrow, “No one would believe that. Those two have been going at each other for years.” Elise sighed, “They don’t believe that. Warriors saw her though but….” My dad frowned, “Melanie said she didn’t cross again...didn’t she?” Elise nodded. My dad sighed. I asked, “What’s going on dad?” My dad frowned, “I don’t know. I can’t tell someone else how to discipline their kid. I have files in my office for you two to go through. I pulled pictures of the pups in the surrounding pack. Maybe you can spot someone who looks enough like her. Maybe that’s who they are seeing.” Hope filled me, “You did that?” My dad smiled, “Of course I did. That's all I can do. I can’t question Alpha Peter’s people. Cassie did. They at least believe they are seeing her. There’s….only so much I can do right now. I don’t think you’ll be able to get through it today, but if you get through it later…..She won’t be grounded, and we can invite her to the celebration with your sister for your birthday.”
I frowned, “Cassie’s not going to make it back?” My dad frowned, “Angela says she won’t.” I sighed, “But she’s ok?” My dad nodded, “I’m monitoring her closely in our bond. Angela assured me Cassie is fine.” I sighed, “Maybe we should delay the party again.” My dad shrugged his shoulders, “Angela said the party needs to happen today. She won’t say why, but your mom agreed. She said the party would happen today if that’s what Angela said.” I groaned. Angela didn’t get clear visions of Alexander’s path or his mates. Probably because she’d never met her. She said there were shadows or blurs in Alexander’s path. She didn’t understand them. She was only four. There was only so much she could do with her sight. My dad left the room. I walked over to my room with Elise.
She’d gone quiet. I held her tightly. I ran my hands up and down her arms, “It will be ok Elise.” She turned into me. She looked up at me, and I couldn’t resist. I leaned down and kissed her. Her lips tasted so sweet. She pulled back, “We don’t have time.” I smirked, “We do.” I pushed her back onto the bed and snapped us both naked. I kissed her neck where I’d mark her soon. She whimpered. I moved my mouth and whispered in her ear, “Soon Elise Kyle….you’ll officially be mine. I’ll mark that spot, and I’ll never let you go. No curfews. No nights I have to leave you. If you go to bed before me...I’ll come up to our bed and you’ll be here. You’re mine forever.” She moaned. I slid a finger inside her. I smirked, “And you said we didn’t have time. My girl is soaking wet for me.” I withdrew my finger and lined us up. I entered her in one swift move like she liked. Her hands clutched the sheets as she moaned. She wrapped her legs around me. I pulled her to the edge of the bed, so I was standing. I gripped her hips and quickly pounded into her. I moved my right hand. I began moving my thumb in circles over her c**t while gripping her other hips tightly.
She cried out, “Please...God…EJ...Oh...So...close….So close….” I smirked and kept going. She thrashed in the bed and her legs tightened around me as her walls clamped down on my d**k. I couldn’t hold myself back. I might have tried if the party didn’t start soon. I slowly thrust into her. Elise was breathing hard. She looked up at me lazily and smiled. I leaned down and kissed her softly. I pulled back, “I love how you look right after you come. My girl is so hot.” She flushed. I smirked, “I love that you still blush when I say things like that. I have seen every inch of you. You are mine.” She growled possessively, “You’re mine too.” I smiled, “Yours.” A knock sounded on my door, “EJ...Elise….you’ve gotta come downstairs. I can’t find Alexander, and just based on how angry he is right now….I don’t wanna. So you guys need to greet people that arrived for the party.” I snorted and linked my little brother Max, “We will be down in a minute.” Max linked back, “Like an actual minute or an EJ and Elise having s*x minute.” I rolled my eyes, “In an actual minute.” Max linked back, “Ok….don’t make me come in there big brother. Angela is so excited about this party for some reason. I’m not going near Alexander with a ten-foot pole right now. You’re my only hope.” I sighed, “Alexander will be ok.” Max retorted, “Sure...after he kills at least ten people.” I laughed out loud.
I pulled out of Elise and snapped us clean and into clothes. I just thought of her birthday outfit. I looked down and groaned, “You’re trying to kill me.” She smirked, “Not tonight, but I have a specific outfit that just might do that one day.” I bit her lip lightly, “Is that so?” She blushed and nodded. Max linked me, “Your literal minute is up.” I rolled my eyes. I grabbed her hand and popped us downstairs. Alexander’s excitement, anger, and then intense rage hit me. I grabbed Elise. I felt him quickly push his feelings down. Elise shot me a look as my eyes blazed for a minute. The Red Run group came in. I kissed her, “I’ll be right back.” Max raised an eyebrow at me. He linked, “The f**k was that?” I shrugged, “I don’t know.” I was out the back door when my phone dinged.
Alexander: I’ll be very late to the party. I have something to take care of.
Me: What?
Alexander: I need to verify some information.
Me: I repeat What?
Alexander: Just...let me verify it. I think it’s true, but if it is….we have problems.
Me: Because we don’t now? Let me come with you.
Alexander: Uncle Bjourn and Uncle Marcus are coming with me.
Alexander: Spencer is coming too apparently.
Me: You be careful little brother. You tug on our connection if you need me. Ok?
Alexander: Ok EJ. See you later.
Jason, Tristan, and my cousin Levi walked up. I hugged Levi, “Hey cousin. How’s Uncle Drake?” Levi smiled, “My dad is good. He’ll be here later. I portaled Tristan and I here. He had to take care of something at home, so they left before he did.” I laughed, “The playdates continue for the kids of those named Drake?” Levi snorted, “We hang out with Finn too.” I smiled, “Good to see you cousin.”
Jason looked around, “Where’s Alexander?” I frowned, “I don’t know. He has something he needs to check out.” Tristan nodded and began to feel his pockets. I raised an eyebrow. He said, “Damn...I forgot my phone.” I laughed and conjured his phone. I handed it to him. He smiled and pulled up his phone. He sent a text. I raised an eyebrow, “New girlfriend?” Tristan laughed, “No… checking on Mel. She’s pretty upset.” I frowned, “I heard.” Jason pulled out his phone, “Hey Tank…. What do you mean she’s not there? You were watching the house. HOW DO YOU NOT KNOW WHERE SHE WENT? She’s thirteen. A thirteen-year-old outsmarted you?! I know she’s smart but...YOU HAD ONE JOB!” Tristan groaned, “I think we’ve got a jailbreak.” Jason hung up his phone. He hissed, “She’s too damn smart for a thirteen-year-old. They followed her scent. We need to get her home before she gets in even more trouble. Alexander and Cassie aren’t even here. She’s met EJ.” I snorted, “I’m not the only Conners here guys.” Tristan snorted, “It would take her a few hours to get here. She’d have to get a ride. She can’t drive….she can’t ask a werewolf. f**k….we gotta go find her before she hitch hikes with a human.” I smirked, “Would we classify this as an emergency? I could pop you to her?” Levi laughed, “Not necessary cousin. Micah sent me her cell's location. I’ll portal them there.” I smiled, “Oh...I’m coming with you.” I linked my dad, “I’ll be back.”
My dad linked, “Sometimes…..I think you kids don’t like me. Hurry back son.” I snorted. We walked through Levi’s portal. We were in the Hackura realm. I felt my connection with Alexander. Whatever he was checking out. He wasn’t here anymore. Levi opened a portal. He smiled, “I get to meet the elusive Melanie Ladybug McAlister...Feels a little like this Christmas Aunt Haley makes us celebrate. I think we’ll have to keep that a secret from certain….” he looked around then said, “People.” I snorted. Jason asked, “What people?” Levi laughed, “Ohh boy. You really don’t know, do you?” Jason frowned, “What are you talking about?” I laughed and pushed him through the portal. We were at the very edge of the border. Melanie wasn’t out in the open. Levi pointed up. Tristan yelled, “Melanie Jane McAlister….get down here right now.” I heard a sigh. Melanie dropped down from the tree. She frowned, “How did you know?” Jason snorted, “I had people checking on you.” Melanie crossed her arms, “I’m not a child.” Tristan said, “You’re thirteen.” Melanie nodded, “Exactly. I’m not a child T. I’m a teenager.” Levi laughed, “Oh...I like her. This is EXACTLY like Christmas.” I smiled, “I like her too, cousin.” Melanie smiled, “Hi EJ…” She studied Levi then smiled, “You must be Levi. Tristan talks about you.” Levi smiled, “I was told you were smart. That was apparently not a lie.” She blushed, “I guess. People say I’m a genius. My I.Q. is pretty high. I’m working on something you might be….”
Tristan cleared his throat, “Are you not enough trouble?” Melanie got a stubborn look on her face. She retorted, “I might as well cross the stupid border if people keep lying about it. I just want to go to the party! Everyone’s going. Everyone’s met ALL the Conners and the Lyons….I’m the ONLY one who hasn’t met the fairy Hackura Luna princess! It’s not fair! I didn’t even do anything!” Tristan snorted, “That’s not why you want to go.” Melanie blushed. Jason said, “What? Yes it is.” Tristan didn’t say anything. Melanie huffed, “It’s not fair T! I didn’t do it.” Tristan frowned, “I told you earlier...I’ll look into it. I believe you; I just don’t have any proof they lied.” Melanie sat down in a huff, “They suck!” Tristan laughed and sat beside her, “It will be ok Ladybug….you’ll meet your crush one day.” She gaped and pushed him, “T!” Jason said, “Uhh crush?! What crush? You’re too young to have a crush. There are no crushes!” I laughed. Melanie looked at the ground. Jason asked, “What the hell? Whose ass am I kicking?”
Tristan smirked, “I wouldn’t recommend that little brother.” Levi smirked, “Nor would I.” Melanie looked up then pushed Tristan again, “You told him! You promised!” Tristan held his hands up, “I didn’t tell him.” Levi smiled, “I’m a Duke of the Hackura Ladybug…..I’m observant. Little things lined up for me. Your brother didn’t tell me.” Jason said, “I’m f*****g observant. What the HELL is going on?” Then it clicked for him. He yelled, “Oh f**k! You like Alexander?! You’ve never even met him!” Melanie squealed and tears filled her eyes, “JASE!” Her eyes darted to me. Jason rolled his eyes, “Oh he knows. He has to. Elise knows.” I growled, “Elise didn’t tell me.” Jason said, “But you know.” I rolled my eyes, “Her stuffed wolf Jase….looks familiar to me.” Jason gaped, “Oh COME ON! He’s eighteen. You’re thirteen! You’re just a kid.” Melanie started crying, “Yeah well this kid helped him! You didn’t help him! I did! I saved him! You didn’t even know about...” She trailed off. I tilted my head, “What are you talking about? You helped my brother with what?” Melanie flushed, “Nothing.” Levi snorted, “I’m officially team Melanie didn’t cross the border….she’s a terrible liar. Come on T….that was sad.”
Melanie pursed her lips at him. Tristan said, “What did you help Alexander with Ladybug?” It had to have been earlier. Alexander was excited because she’d talked to him. I laughed, “You stole Tristan’s phone. He didn’t leave it anywhere. You took it and talked to my brother.” Tristan took out his phone. He shook his head, “I don’t have a call, or a text sent to Alexander.” Levi snorted, “She’s smart. She’d have deleted it. That’s what I’d have done.” Jason said, “Oh god. What did you do Ladybug?” Melanie crossed her arms, “I helped Xander!” Jason shrieked, “XANDER? YOU CALL HIM XANDER? No one calls him that. In fact...he beat a guy up for calling him that.” Melanie stuck her tongue out at him. Tristan spoke to her again, “Ladybug…..you shouldn’t take my phone. What did you tell Alexander?” Melanie sighed, “I texted him the truth. No one else would’ve believed me, but he did. He said so.” Jason frowned, “Ladybug we’ll believe you. What did you tell him?” She wasn’t going to answer them. It was written all over her face. Levi and I exchanged a glance. She’d believe me though. I bet I could get her to tell us.
I cleared my throat, “Ladybug.” She looked up at me. I said, “I’ll believe you. I always have. You know that. I need to know if my brother needs help. I always have his back. I need to know if he’s in danger.” Melanie frowned, “He went with his Uncle’s and his cousin. He promised he’d be safe. He can’t break a promise.” Jason raised an eyebrow then shrugged. God, he needed to get a clue. Melanie’s crush wasn’t one sided. Alexander would promise her the world. I nodded, “I know he did. He told me, but he’s my little brother. Tell me what you told him, please.” Melanie stared into my eyes. Eventually she nodded, “I told him what I overheard today. I had to help him.” Jason started to speak. I growled. He wasn’t helping. Jason shut his mouth. I looked back at Melanie, “How did you help him?” She shrugged, “I warned him about Charline.” Tristan’s eyes narrowed. Jason groaned, “Oh my god! You fight with Charline about Alexander? Christ almighty.” I looked over, “Jason...shut it.” Jason glared at me but stopped talking. I asked, “What about Charline, Ladybug?” Melanie kicked the dirt with her shoes. Eventually she whispered, “I heard her and some of the girls saying she’d found a witch who’d send her into heat. She was going to use it and get Alexander alone so he couldn’t resist her. That’s not fair though! He’s not hers and he doesn't want her. She’s tricking him.” I gaped, “WHAT?!” Melanie looked up startled. I growled, “And he went after her? Why? Where is she?” Melanie frowned, “I told him where she was and what time she was meeting the witch.”
I groaned, “What the hell is he thinking?” Melanie whispered, “He can call one of his other sides forward. She thinks he can’t, but he could resist her heat by calling one of his other sides forward.” All of us stared at her. I asked, “How do you know that?” I knew how I knew that but….she shouldn’t. Melanie frowned, “Well….Jared lets me borrow his fairy books. Your Uncle Aiden wrote one on hybrids.” I knew that too. Jason groaned, “Oh god. Mel….you’re going to get your heart broken.” She pulled back, “No I won’t. You can’t tell him Jase. Please!” Jason snorted, “I’m not telling him. I’m not going to be responsible for crushing my sister’s heart.” She nodded. Tristan said, “Go back home Ladybug. We won’t tell mom and dad you snuck out if you go back now.” Melanie started crying, “But it’s not fair.” Levi shot me a look. He believed her too. She wasn’t crossing the border. I linked Alexander, “For the record…..chasing after Charline when she’s trying to target you for her heat….these are things we share with our older brother.” Alexander linked, “We just caught her red handed.” I growled and spoke out loud, “It was true. They caught her.” Melanie wiped her tears, “I told you. I heard her.” Tristan sighed, “Get back home Mel. Now. Go.” Melanie took off running for their house. I grabbed all their hands and popped back to the party.
I walked inside with the group on my heels. I saw my dad and Peter. I jerked my head to my dad’s office. He frowned. Elise followed us. Once we got there my dad asked, “What’s going on?” My mom popped in. She smiled and kissed me, “Are you having fun at your party EJ?” I sighed, “I’m sure I will. Alexander, Uncle Marcus, and Uncle Bjourn are about to bring in Charline….She’s crossed the line. Her life is over.” Elise and Peter gaped at me. Drake walked in. My mom asked, “Charline? That girl Alexander went to a dance with four years ago? He said he didn’t like her.” I snorted, “He doesn’t, but she likes him. She went to a witch to try to send herself into heat and trap him into... well...having s*x and a pup probably.” My dad snarled. My mom’s eyes blazed, “OH THAT’S IT! No more C she wolf names. They are f*****g psychopaths! She was going to rape my f*****g son?! MY SON! OH I WILL RIP HER TO MOTHERFUCKING PIECES!” My dad put his arms around her, “It’s...Angel that’s not…” My mom hissed, “Don’t you dare say that’s not rape! It is! Trying to use his animal instincts to force him to have s*x with her. That’s rape.”
Peter frowned, “How did he know? I knew she liked him but….I did not suspect this level of obsession. I’ve been having her watched too. There were warriors following her. If Alexander hadn’t had her...we would’ve. I was going to question her. I knew she’d met with a witch. She was never going to make it to the party.” My dad answered, “We have sources that look out for things like this. Alexander’s must have reached out to him. Or they reached out to Corbin….or one of Katie and Logan’s other children. They have cultivated many sources in covens. Corbin and Alexander are quite close though.” Peter sighed, “When they get back….let us know.” I nodded.
