Ruby's Point Of View

Hi, I know you have not heard from me in awhile, things have been chaotic here. Talk of the bizzar war,we fought and won,to Brian, Alpha King Brian's near death injuries,my apologies. The choppers that arrived earlier to transport some of the more seriously wounded warriors to New York, the Vernom Claw Pack hospital, Alpha King Brian's home Pack and now the victory celebration on going that was organized by the packs of Atlanta and not forgetting the Luna ceremony to be held here in four days. Activities have definitely been on a high and even though security was tight, I still kept an eye on Alpha King Brian,do not blame me it is force of habit, I am used to always watching out for him especially from the shadow even though I know how good he is at taking care of himself. Alpha King Brian's outfit tonight was the true definition of casual. The guy looked so hot and sexy,every girl within a mile radius fell in love with him instantly but to make it interesting,he is mated meaning he is off the market, girls whistled wishfully as he passed as per my training, I blended perfectly with the environment making it impossible to decern me. Brian's speech was moving and symbolic, everyone present was touched including me. The lighting of the bonfire blew many away. Brian on the other hand seemed lost as he watched the flames light up the twigs and climbed upwards,he was in trance like state, I thought about going over and snapping him but sister in-law Slyverken solved my predicament when she enveloped him in a tight hug. I felt a pang of jealousy but brushed it off. I noticed beta Lewis issuing instructions and heard " it is time for the run around the perimeter, shall we?" Everyone shifted,me inclusive as we followed Alpha King Brian as he lead us around the perimeter of the Red moon pack grounds. The run was uneventful and surprisingly very relaxing by the end my tension and stress from earlier was gone and I was not the only one, everyone seemed more relaxed and happier after the run and the party had just started in actual reality, the party was in full force when I noticed Alpha King Brian and his officers and their respective mates return back house, most of the guests had returned back to their respective packs after the run, left here are mostly the party revelers and people too drunk to find their way home, I checked in with Cercie my Beta " hey, girl how is everything looking from your end?" " Alpha Ruby everything looks to be in good condition, I doubt the integrity of some of the drunks around but some have passed out cold on the grounds and it is our duty to make sure they woke up some place safe" " Okay,I intend to head in early, good night, Beta" " good night Alpha" I closed the link and was startled to meet a smiling Delta Greg in front of me. "Greg, what are you doing here? I thought you all left" " we did but Alpha King Brian wants to have a word with you" " sure tell my cousin, I will be there in two minutes" "okay" he turned and returned the same way he had come back to the pack house that is serving as accommodation for those staying on the Red moon Pack grounds, I emptied my bottle, called out to Cercie to join me and headed to the pack house. Upon entering I noticed Alpha King Brian was not around, I was about to call out for him when I sensed him coming down the stairs. " My king, you called for me?"" Yes my dearest cousin, Alpha Ruby we have things to discuss,I hope you are not drunk?" " I had a few drinks yes, but not enough to make me drunk or incoherent my king" " that is good to hear, where is Cercie your Beta, this concerns her as well" I sobered up instantly,it has to be serious for Alpha King Brian to want to talk with me and my Beta at the same time, whatever this conversation is about it is serious. " I am right here, Alpha King Brian" I turned to see a sober Cercie, been on guard duty meant no drinking. " Yes, Cercie welcome to the team, shall we head to my office for this discussion,it is pretty delicate and very important. We climbed up the stairs and headed to the office where Alpha King Brian opened the door revealing the other officers and their mates seated comfortably in the seats provided. " Please take your seats" Cercie and I sat in the loveseat facing his (Alpha King Brian's ) table and himself Luna Slyverken were seating in the two official seats provided for them by Lewis. " Alpha Ruby, I know you must be wondering what I want to discuss, it is simple. Now you are an Alpha, even if a rogue one, you do not have a pack house and accommodation for your pack. As your cousin,it is my duty to look after you hence I would like to provide you with a pack house and anything else you need for the time being whiles you decide where you want your pack to be located. I will bear the cost of getting you a befitting pack house. By the way what is the name of your pack?" " The midnight terror is the name we chose. As for location, Atlanta would be the best place but I have to have a stake holders meeting before deciding on that. Where did you have in mind initial for me and my men to stay?' " well, Alpha Ruby, as you are aware my home pack now is the Vernom Claw Pack and Red moon Pack properties would be empty when I leave in a couple of days,so I would like you and your men to stay here on the Red moon Pack grounds, while we are in the process of getting you a befitting pack house." "You are joking my king, right? My men and I would be honored to stay here and help you and your team in trying to get a proper pack house for me." "Definitely, your help would be appreciated in choosing not only the city but also the type of buildings that catches your fancy. I want everything to be perfect for your new pack. So why not deliberate and communicate to me your final decision on the city, and how you want things structured for you" "of course, Alpha King Brian. Give me a couple of days to deliberate on this issue and get back to you with our final decisions, I am sure I will be to get back to you with a decision before you are ready to leave for New York" "okay,in that case this meeting is adjourned until next time. Oh and Ruby take this" I pushed a atm visa card across the table to me, I picked it up. " There should be enough cash on it to cover all your expenses in the meantime and spending. I picked up the atm card, bowed to both Alpha King Brian and Luna Slyverken and left with Cercie right behind me.

Chapter thirty four

The next day

Michelle's Point Of View

Today,we go shopping and I am more than eager for it. I woke up at first light did some training, showered and dressed in a pink tank top and red designer jeans with a matching red sneakers. I looked around Lewis's bedroom which we both share because we are mates,only to find him still sound asleep, I listened around and realized I was not the only one awake some distance away,my keen wolf hearing picked up Gracie and Greg headed downstairs for breakfast whiles Jerkins and Bernie were having a quiet argument about what to buy when we go shopping later today, Catherine and Daemon were chatting excitedly downstairs. The whole pack seemed to be waking up slowly by the way it is ten in the morning and that is not entirely surprising the party lasted until the early hours of dawn. We turned in early but not before having a conversation with Alpha Ruby concerns the future of her pack, it was decided she and her pack should stay here in the Red moon Pack house which would be empty when we leave for New York City in a few days, maybe a day or two after the Luna ceremony either way I can not wait any longer to get to the Vernom Claw Pack, according to Catherine who already lives there it is the bomb. I can not wait to verify if this is true or not. I woke Lewis up gently as soon as he opened his eyes, his face lit up in a sheepish smile " hey beautiful,is it not a little early to be dressed already?" "Good morning handsome,no it is not too early rather you are late, I am sure Alpha King Brian would not like to be kept waiting by his Beta, do you think so too?" He shot out of the bed like a gunshot and started heading to the shower. " Wait,is Alpha King Brian waiting for me? Why did you not just wake me up earlier? I should not have slept so late last night, now I am going to be reprimanded by Alpha King Brian." He went on and on, meanwhile I was watching him with a comic look spread on my face, I just can not help it my mate be one the toughest guys out there but internally he is one of the cutest guys I know, just look at how worked up he is after realizing he is late for an appointment, I chuckled and he raised eyebrows at me " what is so funny dear Michelle?" " Oh, nothing I am just surprised how easy it is to get you out of bed. I just have to threaten you with a late appointment with Alpha King Brian that never existed,easy as A,B,C" " wait are you telling me, I am not actually late? And you just wanted me out of bed? You sly woman!" He made a move towards me from the bathroom " I would not do that if I were you" I said whiles taking a step back "And why is that? " " Because, unless you are blind or your senses are not in order, which I know not to be true, you would realized the whole house just became quiet,no doubt listening in to what is going on in here since you raised your voice!" He stopped in his tracks no doubt listening for any sounds of life from downstairs, he frowned upon realizing I was right, he did an about turn and entered the shower, I breathed a sign of relief,then I get interrupted by a mind link from Bernie 'way to go girl, you just successfully woke up the entire pack' I groaned inwardly ' well,it is high time the woke up even if a little grumpy' ' yeah say that to Alpha King Brian who just walked in' ' what, now I am surely in trouble' ' yeah and get your ass here quickly' 'sure thing' she disconnected the link leaving me wondering if it was a smart move to provoke a lovers quarrel out of Lewis this morning, now I am officially toast, I have to deal with both Lewis and Alpha King Brian not to mention Queen Slyverken,who are all mad at me, just the worst possible way to start the day.

Lewis's Point Of View

While I was fuming in the shower at being played so easily, everyone was having a laugh at my expense, I literally jumped out of the shower when I heard the knock knock in my head indicating someone was trying to mind link me, I opened the link to receive a shocking reprimand. " Beta Lewis would you and Beta female Michelle stop your back and forth, it is not entertaining one bit and besides she was just acting on instructions, and do not forget you have thirty minutes to get ready, I and the others would be waiting for you, now get a move on" " yes, Alpha" " and, beta Lewis I think it is in bad taste for the Beta of Betas to be the butt of every joke this morning, you need to do something about it and please do not let your anger drift into any of the upcoming training sessions,is that clear?" " Yes, Alpha. You have nothing to worry about" " Good" he closed the link and I returned to taking care of my business in the shower, I came out with only a towel covering my waist, I was surprised to see my mate Michelle fretting about,as soon as she saw me,her train of thought seemed to be lost as her eyes raked me over " before you say anything Michelle, I am sorry for shouting at you earlier, I was wrong dear and you were right it is not right for me to keep the Alpha King and his Queen waiting, so if you do not mind, can you please pass me my clothes?" She stood still for a long time, I was just thinking maybe she did not hear me when she suddenly snapped out of the trance like state she was in, she took three very long steps and enveloped me in a hug and started crying to my surprise. I awkwardly patted her back gently and shushed her quietly " it is okay dear, it was not your fault,I made a bad judgemental call. So do not cry, I am deeply sorry, I honestly am" she hiccuped and said " I should not have been so blunt, I should never have angered you in the first place, please forgive me" " Michelle dearest,we both were wrong in our earlier actions but we would be in a serious problem if we do not go downstairs in roughly ten minutes" "Okay" she disengaged and I felt slightly empty. "Shall we ?" " Er, I am not dressed yet." She seemed to come alive for the first time since I came out of the bathroom, quickly she rummaged through my closet and came back with a bundle of clothes in her hands, which she spread on the bed. " Let us see,we are supposed to be going shopping today,in that case, you need to wear clothes that are not only comfortable but easy to get out of, should the need arises, in that case I think this blue t-shirt and black jeans with that blue black sneakers should do perfectly" I just stood there amazed at how quickly she picked up clothes for me and that too just the kind of clothes I had in mind. " Lewis,what are you daydreaming about, get your sexy body moving and dress up if you do not want to get on Alpha King Brian's bad side this morning" just like that, I snapped out of my daydream, quickly I dressed in Michelle's chosen clothes and together we walked out the door and down the stairs and true to his word, Alpha King Brian, Luna Slyverken, Gamma Daemon and his mate Catherine, Delta Greg and his mate Gracie, and Commander Jerkins and his mate Bernie and to crown it all they were smiling and I knew all too well what the joke was, so instead of giving a rhetoric, I decided to ignore it and focus on the situation at hand. "Good morning guys, we are late. Alpha, Luna,my apologies for keeping you waiting" "Beta Lewis,we not in the presence of others,we can at least drop the formality for five minutes" " As my Alpha wishes but before that where would you like the briefing to take place, Brian?" " Do you have any particular place in mind Lewis?" " Actually, I do. And if you would permit it, I would like briefing to take place in the conference room." Definitely, shall we go then?" Everyone stood up as we all fell in line behind Alpha King Brian and Luna Slyverken as we walked back up the stairs, turned right and entered the conference room where everyone took their seats. As soon as everyone was settled in, I stood up and cleared my throat for everyone's attention. " As you are all aware, my duties as Beta started approximately about four weeks ago and my duties as the Beta of Betas started three weeks ago,as a result it took me a lot longer than I would have preferred to gather the information Alpha King Brian requested but all the same today, everyone in this room would be surprised by the discoveries, I made. Alpha King Brian,how would you like me to start,by this I mean, which pack should I start from?" " Beta Lewis, start from the Red moon Pack assets and properties if you please" " Definitely, Alpha. The Red moon Pack has an estimated gross value of eighty million American dollars" everyone's jaw dropped. " The pack house alone is worth about twenty million dollars, the net value of the pack lands is five million dollars, we have about forty million dollars in various accounts,in bonds,stocks and other electronic investment modules, the total net value of our vehicles is five million dollars and we have approximately ten million dollars invested in real estate" "Beta Lewis,are you telling me, that the Red moon Pack is worth eighty million dollars?" " Yes, Alpha." " How come no one ever told me that, not even my father?" " The reason for that I am not sure, I was only able to get this value after combing through all the financial files on the late Alpha Jon's laptop, may he rest in peace." " Okay, now tell me about the Vernom Claw Pack" " Yes, Alpha. The Vernom Claw Pack's net worth is two hundred million dollars" if they were surprised the first time,this time they just could not believe their ears. "The pack house on its own is worth ninety million dollars,." "Wait Beta Lewis, how could we have afforded it in the first place?" " Alpha, if I may, why did you say we should move to new York after the attack?" "Lewis, I said so because, in all my time with my dad, he always hammered it in me, that should ever the time come when Atlanta is no longer safe, I should move to New York and change the pack name to Vernom Claw Pack, which happened to be something I came up with when I was younger, when I was asked what name I would give my pack if given the opportunity. "I asked because Alpha, the bags, Daemon picked up from the hidden safe in your room, included documents and contact details of people to contact in New York and a message, if I should contact the people in the list it means, the doomsday protocol has been activated. I did not call any of the doomsday protocol contacts though. Back to the Vernom Claw Pack house, an agreement had already been signed and the agreed amount then was forty million dollars and it was paid in full but due to land and property revaluation and the cost of the extra security apparatus and the high tech gadgets and nature of the buildings and furnishings, the price shot up to ninety million dollars but before they could conclude the deal, the news of the destruction of the Red moon Pack and the death of it's Alpha reached them leaving them in a dilemma as to how to recover the remaining fifty million dollars, their contact was on the cell phone you handed to me, hence easy to reach them, though they demanded proof of your claim so I sent them a copy of your birth certificate hence leading to me closing the deal." "Beta Lewis,how come you never informed me? And how did you get fifty million dollars, as far as I know we carried approximately a total of one million dollars in different currencies  in our luggage, that is if you add all the money found in the bags and clothes " " Alpha, the documents also included files that had explicit instructions on how to get access to approximately a billion dollars in unnumbered accounts and assets all over the world, should you need to, hence it was easy to liquidate three hundred million dollars and withdraw it quickly,in order to conclude the deal" " Okay, continue" " sure, the extra buildings currently in construction and that includes the ice cream parlor, the royal museum, and the throne room have a net value of forty million dollars and the vehicles we bought have a net value of seventy million dollars and not forgetting the three medical helicopters, five ambulances,three limos, two BMW's, and other cars that are too plenty to be mentioning and the gym equipment and the military grade weapons for security." The room was quiet, everyone was brooding even Alpha King Brian was stunned by all this information and I could not for the love of me hide the smug look on my face, finally Alpha King Brian spoke " so, now I understand why Alpha Harris, Alpha Red and Alpha Gin were so desperate to get their hands on this pack but that does not still explain how they could possibly know about the financial standings of the pack. Also, Beta Lewis how can the Vernom Claw Pack's net worth be two hundred million dollars if there are unnumbered accounts and assets all over the world totally a billion dollars?" " Yes, Alpha King Brian, you are right but it is important to know this accounts do not exist to the outside world and the only person who can authorize transactions to be made by this accounts is you. Also, the accounts are in ghost names ranging from any alias we and I mean myself, Gamma Daemon, Delta Greg and yourself Alpha King Brian have ever used. And it is truly amazing how Alpha Jon of blessed memory could think of using them though it makes perfect sense, for security reasons."  " Ok, now tell me of the assassin pack" " Alpha King Brian, now that is the icing on the cake. The assassin pack even though they do not own any assets, they have a surprising amount of money in various alias accounts offshore" "And by offshore you mean, what exactly Beta" I looked at Jerkins who shifted uncomfortably but nodded " by offshore Alpha King Brian, I mean Swiss accounts and accounts in the Caribbean and the net worth of this accounts is give or take one billion dollars" Alphas jaw dropped on hearing this news, the others were looking at Jerkins in wonder, Jerkins on the other hand looked at everyone stone cold, no emotion what so ever. Now he looked like the typical assassin he was trained to be, his eyes were assessing everyone but Alpha King Brian and his eyes dared anyone to make any funny comments but everyone had only respect for him, his eyes softened a little and he actually smiled and it was an easily beautiful smile considering how it lit up his face and made him look younger. " Okay, guys and girls, are you done idolizing the humble Commander Jerkins, there are still two issues to take care of,so shall we get back to it. Beta Lewis, you still have not said anything concerning the Alpha Pack and the Moonlight Pack." "Alpha, I would like Beta female Michelle, to talk about the Moonlight Pack as it is within her domain and with regards to the Alpha Pack, currently we have two civilian helicopters, two boenign 787 passenger aircrafts with a total seating capacity of five hundred each, currently I am in the middle of acquiring a Rolls Royce customized of course in the name of the Alpha Pack and before I forget there are assets listed in your name, Alpha King Brian making your net worth nine hundred million dollars." "Say what??? My net worth ??? Explain." " Alpha King Brian, it would seem the reason the Red moon Pack's value dropped is because some assets where placed in your name and they include in no particular order: a private jet with seating capacity for three hundred, equipped with everything one would need for comfort, you name it, the plane has it. A Yamaha racing bike worth forty three million dollars, a vintage Rolls Royce worth sixty million dollars and shares in real estate companies,bonds and shares in some very influential firms so basically you are a walking millionaire, it is projected that in two years your net worth would be one billion us dollars. And all this information was to be made known to you forty eight hours after you assumed command as Alpha of the Red moon Pack, this was supposed to be your gift or inheritance as an Armstrong. We, that's myself Gamma Daemon and Delta Greg also have properties listed personally in our names but it is not as impressive as yours is, Alpha King Brian. And that sums up my debriefing"  if my fellow officers were surprised earlier now the look on their faces could win an Oscars award if the academy were here to see it " Oh, and before I take my seat, I forgot to add, the assassin pack accounts have been placed in the name of the Vernom Claw Pack and myself, Commander Jerkins and you Alpha King Brian are the three signatories." I resumed my seat. Meanwhile wheels where turning in everyone's minds. Alpha called everyone back to attention, ""Okay,so we have an hour before we go shopping, Beta female Michelle, can you start your debrief on the Moonlight Pack?? " "Certainly Alpha" Michelle stood up and walked to the projector, where she turned around and faced everyone.
