Chapter twenty nine

Slyverken's Point Of View

I woke up with a start, where are am I? I looked around and relaxed,as soon as I realized I was in Brian's cabin on the outskirts of the pack. Now to what really woke me up, I realized it was the urgent knock knock in my head, indicating someone was trying to mind link me, I opened the link and an agitated Michelle spoke " finally, so you have any idea what time it is? Do you know how long I have been trying to get in touch with you since you and Brian disappeared?" " Wow, relax Beta. I am fine and Brian and I did not disappear and what time is it? I only just woke up, I have been sleeping." " It is five o'clock in the evening, it has been more than eight hours, since you and Brian left the pack hospital" " what, it has been that long?" " Yeah, it has,plus the pack doctor wants to run some tests on Alpha King Brian and run some antibiotic intravenous infusions." " Do you by any chance, know how difficult it was to get Brian into the hospital,now he wants to run tests and intravenous infusions on him?? What kind of tests are we talking about here?" " Well,my queen. The pack doctor has some crazy theory going on, he says one of the pack warriors by name Jordan claims his wound healed quickly because Alpha King Brian's blood accidentally dropped on it" "come again, what? I know Brian has advance healing abilities but for his blood to hold healing properties like that is absurd" " my point exactly,Luna Slyverken but the pack doctor says the only way to find out for sure is when he runs some tests with alpha Brian's blood and he also wants to talk to him about the state of his patients,he says some need surgeries but he is not qualified to perform them" " okay, Beta Michelle, give me say thirty minutes Brian and I would be there" " okay, Alpha Slyverken. Oops, sorry my queen" " no need for apologies,both titles are correct and I would like a strawberry milkshake when we arrive" " you got it" I closed the link and woke Brian up gently. He woke up smiling " how was your sleep dearest?" " It was relaxing Brian and sorry I had to wake you up but we really need to grab a bite, change clothes and head back to the pack house, they need their Alpha King." He sobered up instantly " is anything wrong? Are we under attack again?" He stood up immediately and started pacing around the room " Relax, Brian, nothing of that nature has happened. Just that it has been a little over eight hours since we left the pack hospital and the trackers sent look for us seem to have lost our scent a couple of yards from the pack hospital and neither you nor I have been responding to the mindlinks sent our way, plus it is past time for your antibiotic infusion" "what antibiotic infusion are you talking about my queen? I was not informed about anything of that sort" " Brian, do not make me laugh, the pack doctor decided after we left, for us both to have antibiotic intravenous infusions as empirical treatment incase of possible infection and since then no one has been able to get in contact with us, our men thought something happened to us and it has been a roller coaster ride since then and the pack has been in disarray" " okay, so how long do we have my queen?" " Give or take twenty minutes, so what would like to do first? Shower, grab a bite, or change clothes?" " That is a tempting offer,why not take a joint shower first then the rest we can decide on as at when we get there?" " mmm, if you say so but no funny tricks okay??" " Okay, shall we?" " let us go" so we stood and headed to the shower whiles Brian whistled an old kindergarten hymn to himself like an over satisfied baby. The joy on his face was infectious,in no time I was whistling along.

Michelle's Point Of View

Well, my day just got a lot brighter, you just can not imagine how stressed I was when the trackers sent to follow the trail of Alpha King Brian and Queen Slyverken reported having lost the trail. Myself, Beta Lewis, Gamma Daemon, Delta Greg and Commander Jerkins all joined the hunt and surprisingly we came up short just like the trackers did. My heart was beating crazily and the other pack officers were equally worried, doing a background search,we realized the last place they were was the pack hospital. The pack doctor was panicking and even the wounded warriors and Alphas volunteered for the search, a three hour search proved futile and the pack was in disarray, our alpha King Brian and his queen, Queen Slyverken can not just disappear without a trace like that but that seemed to be exactly what happened,all the while I tried mindlinking Queen Slyverken. I can not describe how relieved I was when after eight hours she finally responded telling me, they were safe and in Brian's cabin and had spent the past eight hours sleeping, the relief I felt was magnanimous. I informed everyone of this good news and they visibly relaxed and there was eruption of cheers all over the pack property as the information was circulated all over. Beta Lewis my mate, enveloped me in a hug and similar scenes were being played out all around me. " Erm, guys shall we keep it under wraps for now? They should be back in approximately twenty minutes and we need to ready by then, people get to work" everyone left to report back to their assigned posts except Beta Lewis, Gamma Daemon,Delta Greg and Commander Jerkins, Catherine, Bernie, Gracie and myself. " What beats me is this. How come no one thought to check on the cabin located on the outskirts of the pack property?" "That is because my love, in all the years we have known Brian,he has never said anything about it, most people do not even know that property exists." " Ok, Lewis, now how do we go about the victory party?" " I would leave that decision for both Alpha King Brian and Luna Slyverken to make after all this victory is theirs" you are right, Lewis but we have an even bigger celebration to plan" " what celebration are you talking about, Daemon?" " Guys the full moon is in five days,we have a Luna ceremony to plan for or am I the only one who knows our Alpha is mated and has marked his mate?" " Yeah, in all this battle frenzy I totally forgot about it but now that you raise the topic,who would be the surrogate parents for alpha Brian?" " Greg, you need not ask, that would definitely be us" " Michelle, Gracie, Bernie and Catherine coordinate with the Moonlight Pack, this ceremony has to be the best in history" " no problem love, now who is going to help me get the milk shakes ready?"

Chapter thirty

Brian's Point Of View

Shower was relaxing but we had to hurry it along, Slyverken rushed to the kitchen and the delicious aroma of pasta wafted into my nostrils, I quickly picked a matching set of denim trousers and t-shirt and on second thought,i picked my midnight blue running shoes. I rushed down the stairs and into the kitchen where a dressed Slyverken was busily navigating, the pasta into bowls for our consumption, she looked up as I approached " well,well, my darling mate looks dashing in this clothes. Dinner is served and ready" "aww,my love you know how to wet my appetite" we dug in and are till our hearts were content,we topped it with soda from the fridge and did the dishes together, " eh, my queen,how much time do we have?" " About five minutes,why do you have any thing in mind?" " No, I was just wondering,if we should run as wolves or not." " I am definitely not going to ruin this clothes Brian, besides you are the Alpha King, no one can pressurize you" " if my queen says so and by the way,you look stunning" she blushed at my comment,her face becoming a little shade redder in embarrassment and I was not kidding when I said she looked stunning because she did, wearing a low-necked blue colored flowing dress that hugged her figure and accentuated all her curves in the right places and a matching sea blue high heeled shoes, my wolf was howling in praise and it took every bit of restraint I had not to rip the clothes off her and lean her against the kitchen wall and do some real damage. I shook my head to get the images out of my head. " We better get going or they might send a search party after us again" she chuckled and shyly head my hand as we left the cabin and headed to the pack house.

Slyverken's Point Of View

I could tell what Brian was thinking as he gave me a look over and I must admit it was tempting to say the least. We have been together for three days and have never been on date yet we landed in each other's beds almost immediately, the mate bond is something else. I chuckled and shook my head at the knowledge " darling is anything wrong?" The concern and love in his voice was comforting, even though we had not told each other ' I love you' I knew in my deepest self that I have fallen hopelessly in love with Brian and I knew he loves me too, only he does not want to say it so soon, oops Brian asked a question and I am yet to reply "my king, nothing is wrong, I just find it hilarious that in the past three days we have been together,we spent every moment together yet we have never been on an official date before" "oh, that is surprising but sort of makes sense as we have been busy preparing for war and going out on a date never crossed anyone's mind but now that you say so,we should definitely go on a date or two or what do you think?" " Definitely, that would be lovely" we made our way holding hands to the pack house, where our officers awaited us. Brian opened the door like a true gentleman and held it while I passed through.

Meanwhile in the pack house living room, Lewis, Michelle, Daemon, Catherine, Greg, Gracie, Jerkins and Bernie were having a serious argument on which color scheme to use.

I stood dumbfounded looking at them, each one arguing in favor of a different color scheme.

Chapter thirty one

Brian's Point Of View

The scene in the pack house mess hall or living room, which ever you think fit is was surprising, my best friends and pack officers and their respective mates were basically on each other's throats,all because they could not agree on a color scheme for a ceremony, I knew nothing about. Sometimes, they really act as the young adults they are and not officials of the most powerful pack in history. I turned to Slyverken and noticed she was watching them shock evident on her face and from the looks on her face, I could tell she did not get what the fuzz was all about. I cleared my throat for attention and everyone turned to look at Slyverken and me horrified they have been caught whiles making their supposed surprise plans " ladies and gentlemen, I hear you have been looking for us only to arrive here to find you making preparations for the Luna ceremony" everyone's jaw dropped including Slyverken, the culprit just could not believe how I knew what the fuzz was about and Slyverken looked even more confused than ever " what Luna ceremony are you all talking about? She asked "my queen, they were talking about your Luna ceremony. Since you are my mate, you know we can not get married hence the need for the Luna ceremony, the ceremony is half a wedding on it is own" " oh, I never once thought about it. When is the next full moon by the way?" Slyverken and I both looked towards them. Michelle and Lewis exchanged a knowing look and said " it is in four days" " wait what? The next full moon is in four days? That is not enough time for all the preparations that needs to be done" Slyverken exclaimed. ' my point exactly Luna" Michelle said. Now it was my turn to look confused " what kind of preparations are we talking about here?" " Dear mate that is not your problem to worry about,that is a girl's problem but we would need money for the preparation and we need to go shopping, all of us" "my dear Slyverken if you need money just draw up a budget of expenditure and I will approve it, Beta Lewis, now that we are done with the war, I want a full inventory of assets,those owned by the Red moon and Vernom Claw packs and the Moonlight Pack, the alpha pack does not have assets as far as I know,if there things of that nature I want to know, assets lost, how much this war cost us and assets to be replaced and the cost involved, I want it within the hour, Gamma Daemon, Delta Greg and Commander Jerkins, you are to assist him, now get to it and I will expect a briefing on the happenings in the the Vernom Claw Pack, progress report on the construction works ongoing and general state of affairs of the packs in my absence, beta Michelle, I expect the same from you within the hour" " yes, Alpha King Brian" they and their mates scrambled out of their seats and headed to my office located on the first floor of the pack house to do the inventory, I turned to Slyverken " now that we are alone, you were saying??" " On second thought, I think I need to go and help my Beta, that is an awful amount of work she has to do in an hour" but before I could reply we were interrupted again, this time by the pack doctor. 'Apologies for the intrusion, Alpha King Brian,my Queen, but it is past time you both had your intravenous infusions set-up' grudgingly we both sat down in the just vacated seats, the doctor and three nurses behind started setting up the IV lines and ran the infusions. "By the way doc, I hear you have some updates for me?" " Yes, Alpha King Brian. Thankfully our fatality rate is not high. We sustained fifty deaths, a hundred less major injuries, twenty major injuries of which fifteen have been taken care of, they are stable and responding to treatment, the other five are medical emergencies that need surgery within ten hours" " and why has the surgeries not been done yet?" " Alpha King Brian,this is the challenge we have, the surgeries needed include a neurosurgery and require a specialist doctor and as at now, we do not have the apparatus not the doctors to perform the surgery, I need your permission to contact the human hospitals, in the hopes of getting and requesting the services of their specialist doctors." "Okay, before you do so, give me five minutes" " yes, alpha" Slyverken was quiet throughout the entire discussion, I sent a private mind link to my Beta, Lewis " Beta Lewis?" " Yes, Alpha King Brian" " can you be kind enough to come to the pack mess hall right now, I need your input before I make a decision" " I am on my way, Alpha" I closed the link and we all heard Lewis take the steps down the stairs two at a time, in a few minutes,he reached us, bowed in respect to both Slyverken and I before asking " Alpha, you asked for me?" " Yes, Beta Lewis, we have a situation here and before I fill you in, I want you to get the Vernom Claw Pack doctor on the line preferably via Zoom or Skype" " definitely, Alpha" he picked his phone from his pocket and started making calls, after five minutes he went back up the stairs entered my office, retrieved my laptop and rushed down the stairs and set-up the laptop on the dinning table in front of me. "Alpha,we go live in two minutes" and truly in two minutes, the screen lit up with the smiling face of my pack doctor back in New York. Lewis assumed his position behind me " good evening Alpha King Brian, Queen Slyverken, it is an honor to meet you finally. You are as regal as they say. Beta Lewis,it is good to see you again" Slyverken blushed slightly and replied " doctor, it is a pleasure to meet you as well, I look forward to working with you seamlessly when I arrive in New York" " Definitely, my queen. My team, I and the entire pack await your arrival eagerly" Lewis on the other hand, just nodded to the pack doctor. I cleared my throat "Alpha King Brian,my pardons. Accept my heartfelt felicitations on the massive victory" " wow, news sure travels fast. Thanks by the way. We have a medical issue here that requires your input" " I am delighted to be of service, Alpha" " doc, meet doctor ??" " Nelson, Alpha" "Right,meet Dr Nelson of the Moonlight Pack, he has a medical emergency and I would like to have your input on it before making any final decision. Dr Nelson, please brief Dr John on the situation at hand" " Definitely, Alpha. Dr John, the issue here is we have five medical emergencies, that require surgery in ten hours, the surgeries include a neurosurgery, thoracic surgery, pancreatectomy, esophagectomy and craniectomy, unfortunately we do not have the needed apparatus nor do we have the qualified personnel for such procedures,as you know this are unusual procedures for us, werewolf doctors" " yes, I am aware this are unusual procedures but do not worry,we have both the hospital facilities and the personnel needed for this procedures, if you would allow me Alpha, I can have three medical helicopters and two civilian helicopters readied, equipped with the personnel and support for the transportation of this patients from the Red moon Pack hospital to the Vernom Claw Pack hospital within the hour " everyone was dumbfounded including Lewis,who is supposed to know all about our pack assets. "Wait doc, did you just say three medical helicopters and two civilian crafts? Where are you getting them?" 'Alpha, the company that built the Vernom Claw Pack hospital also included the cost of up to three medical helicopters,in case of any emergencies and that is why,there are helipads on the roof of all the pack buildings. The two civilian helicopters are in fact,a gift from the Alphas of the Midnight Pack and the Rangers pack, it arrived two days after you left for Atlanta, I am surprised both you and Beta Lewis were not informed." Lewis and I exchanged a look, what is going on here? Gifts of this nature arrived at my pack and neither I nor Lewis,who is Beta of the pack knew nothing about it? Someone has kept us in the dark and I want to find out why but before that,my sick pack members have to be taken care of first. " Doc, you have my permission. Do everything you need to do, in that case I expect the five helicopters here in an hour. Can it be done?" "Yes, Alpha. It will be done" " Thanks again for your cooperation, kindly notify either myself or Beta Lewis when the choppers take off." "Definitely, Alpha " I closed the laptop and turned to face Beta Lewis and Dr Nelson, " doc, I want the patients prepared and ready for transport within the hour, you may leave now" he bowed and said " Alpha before I leave, please take note, neither yourself or any of the warriors who participated in the battle including the ones present in this room, should stress themselves at least for three days, you can shift after four days, your wolves need time to heal as well " he then left, everyone was speechless for awhile brooding no doubt about what the pack doctor just said. I broke the silence " Lewis it would seem we are not as informed as we thought. Who are the Alphas of the Midnight Pack and Rangers pack?" " Alpha, that would be Alpha Stefan and Alpha Dominic. Though it beats my imagination as to why, we were not informed of this sooner and the section commanders, failed to report this to me during their daily reports" " Maybe, due to the fact that we were preparing for war, stuff like this slipped through without our knowledge but Beta Lewis, this should not happen again. Make every enquiry you have to, I want a full inventory within the hour" " Yes, Alpha" he bowed to Slyverken and I and left rushing up the stairs back to my office,where Daemon, Greg, Jerkins and their respective mates were making sure my order was being followed. Even from here, I could hear them issuing instructions on phone. " Well my queen, things are getting spicy" " oh, you are full of surprises,three medical helicopters were part of the agreement for hospital supplies, you signed. Unbelievable" " I did not sign that deal my queen, that was all Lewis, though I am surprised he did not read the full content of the contract he signed, I will bet he left Dr John in charge of the negotiations. mmm, now you see why I wanted a full inventory of all pack assets? " " Yeah, I get it but for Alpha Stefan and Alpha Dominic to give you two civilian helicopters and keep mute about it is beyond me" "Yeah, you are right and I had no Idea they could afford something like that,looks like the packs are alot wealthier than people actually think and I think after the victory celebration tonight,thus tomorrow would be the right time to do so" I signaled the nurses standing guard a couple of yards away to come and disconnect the infusions as they were almost empty, this they did immediately. Slyverken and I both stood and stretched to promote circulation in our arms." Now, I would like to sleep, how about you my queen? " " Of course, shall we?" " let us"  we climbed the stairs and headed to my room.

Chapter thirty two

Later that night

I was woken up by Slyverken around ten PM local time, she informed me that the choppers arrived while we were sleeping,so Lewis took command and oversaw the safe movement of the patients, also, Dr John sent a message informing us of the success of the surgeries, the patients were out of danger and responding to treatment. I breathed a sign of relief " but now, Brian get dressed everyone is waiting for us for the party to start." "What kind of party did you organize?" "Sorry, I am not one of the organizers of this party, I have no hand in it. This bonfire party has been put together by the alphas of the alpha pack" " so, what is the dress code for a bonfire party?" " Brian,are you telling me you have never been to a bonfire party before?" " er!!,yes. I never had time to do parties,my social life was non-existent. But seriously, what do I wear?" "Anything casual would do" "anything? " "Yes, anything" I rummaged in my closet and came up with three sets of basketball uniforms, and all three belonged to three different NBA clubs,we have the golden state warriors, the Lakers and the Miami heat. "So, which do think would do?"  " Mmm, how about the Lakers, I love the golden yellow and violet combination and it matches perfectly with my own dress for the party" now that she mentioned it, I just realized she was actually dressed and ready to go,in blue jeans and golden yellow low-cut, sleeveless shirt that hugged her figure tightly bringing out all the curves and shape and showing a lot more cleavage than I was comfortable with naturally, topped with matching Nike shoes. My wolf was howling in praise in my head, I told him to can it, my mate likes to dress provocatively, no wonder Micheal and James had a hard time keeping the young warriors of the Moonlight Pack in their respective places and ended up using the young warriors who could not keep their thoughts and hands to themselves as target practice but they succeeded only because they never gave up. " If you say so, love." I picked a black airmax sneakers from my closet. I dressed and we went downstairs where our friends and pack officers, oh and not forgetting young Alpha Ruby and Cercie awaited us. Everyone watched mouth opened as we descended the stairs.

Slyverken's Point Of View

The boys and girls club as they like to call themselves stared open mouthed as Brian and I descended the stairs, I must admit Brian looked smoking hot in his chosen outfit for today. The basketball clothes fit him nicely and it brought out his hefty biceps and threw more focus on how well built he was in reality, definitely a lot of hearts would break tonight. Brian has always been a heart breaker but this outfit definitely proves one of the hottest guys on the market is now off the market. My wolf was beside herself with joy, this is going to be a long night for me as well, think of the possibilities the night presents. As soon as we reached downstairs, Brian addressed everyone" okay, I know this party is more than well deserved and long over due but I don't want the guards on duty drinking,even though we have won the war,that does not mean we do not have hidden enemies that might want to take advantage of our lax security plus I trust all the beverage are light weight right?" " Yes, Alpha. Everything is set and I specifically asked for lightweight beer" " guys,in case you are not aware, this is a party not a battle, plus we are not the only ones celebrating,all the seven packs in Atlanta are celebrating tonight with their Alpha King and not forgetting the Vernom Claw Pack in New York and all the packs under the reign of the new Alpha King, Brian. As far as I know, the entire membership of the Moonlight Pack is here and I am sure the other packs are fully represented here as well, that is seven Alphas and their respective mates, not to mention their respective parents and entire pack membership, that is a lot of people and I agree even though this is a party, security needs to be tight. I trust all the security arrangements have been gone over by you, Beta Lewis?" " Yes, Luna Slyverken, for security we have our forces and the Moonlight Pack warriors and the warriors provided by Alpha Rand, Alpha Finn, Alpha McNally, Alpha Goldberg and Alpha Twain, Commander Jerkins has put in place an extra security layer incase of trouble plus twenty assassin trained warriors, arrived with the choppers earlier and have been spread around the entire pack perimeter, their only mission is your protection, Alpha Brian and Luna Slyverken" "Looks like we have elaborate security measures in place, I must say Beta Lewis, I am truly impressed, I know you to be good but this is above the mark" " Alpha, you flatter me too much, I could not have done it without the help of Gamma Daemon, Delta Greg, Commander Jerkins, Catherine, Gracie, Bernie and Michelle here" " so you had a lot of help. I do hope my inventory report is ready? Also, tomorrow we would be going shopping, so prep yourselves but not before I am briefed on the status of the inventory I asked for" "Yes, Alpha" they all responded. " Brian,are you done talking? My parents are getting antsy, I have received five different mindlinks in the past two minutes requesting our presence, I think we better get a move on before someone ignites the bonfire just to spite us" " my queen, you seem awfully excited about this party" " Brian, this is the first time we would be going out together as a couple,it is exciting and kind of romantic" behind me, the others were chuckling at my blatant teenage girl fantasy. " Sure. Let the night begin"

Lewis's Point Of View

This might be the first time Alpha Brian and Luna Slyverken would be going out in public as a couple but they are not the only ones, we all are. That not withstanding tonight they would be sitting ducks should anyone try to attack but considering the number of warriors present, I doubt anyone would be crazy enough to try anything of that sort and the fact that we have hidden warriors everywhere, plus myself, Daemon, Greg and Jerkins would be on security detail tonight,any one who trust to get too close to Alpha King Brian and Luna Slyverken would get a sound trashing, that I can personally guarantee. " Beta Lewis, can you run me through what we are supposed to be doing tonight?" " Yes, Alpha. Basically, you have to give a victory speech,then there would be a toast and the lighting of the bonfire, and the run by the packs present, afterwards the rest should sort itself out" " That is a tall order but I hope this night is as memorable as it promises to be. I thought the pack doctor said, no shifting into our wolves for four days?""Yes, he did Alpha but when I ran the program by him,he reluctantly agreed but said we should not stress ourselves tonight and to watch our alcohol intake considering, each person present here sustained one or two serious injuries, even though we are well advanced in the healing process.""Okay, Shall we go out now before my dear Slyverken here drags us out by force" everyone chuckled except Luna Slyverken,who was frowning at the looks on our faces,we sobered up instantly and walked out the door, with Alpha King Brian and Luna Slyverken leading the way, with me and Michelle, Daemon and Catherine, Greg and Gracie and finally Jerkins and Bernie following suite. We walked out into a serious fun fair, kids were running around happily and playing together despite being from different packs, the adults too were getting along well, warriors congratulating each other on the victory and cracking jokes about their battle scars. Michelle linked her hand with mine as we made our way through the throngs of people gathered, everyone paved way for us as we made our way through to the middle of the pack where a huge bonfire was built and surrounding it, where Luna Slyverken's parents, Michelle's parents and Alphas of the alpha pack. This is going to be definitely a long night as Alphas que to congratulate Alpha King Brian and Luna Slyverken on the victory.

Chapter thirty three

Brian's Point Of View

Navigating through the alphas of the alpha pack, proved to be more time consuming than I thought. Can you imagine it took well over an hour before the last Alpha member of the Alpha Pack finished congratulating Slyverken and I. Meanwhile, Slyverken's parents were waiting patiently for their turn. I politely excused myself and turned towards my in-laws, " good evening, Alpha Riddick, Luna Tina, it is a pleasure to meet you both finally again" " yes, Alpha King Brian, it has been a long three years since the last time we saw you and I must say, you have grown into a well built and stronger version of the young man I knew" " Alpha Riddick, the years have been kind. Living as an Omega was tasking and I am thankful for the experience, I only regret not been able to prevent the attack on my parents" " Yes ,it is true you were not able to prevent the attack but honestly what could you have done? Everything was done in so much secrecy, we all found out too late about it  but I know the souls of your parents ,Alpha Jon and Luna Alice Armstrong would rest in peace, because their deaths have been avenged sevenfold and today, you are the official Alpha King, just like your dad knew you would be one day. Enough sad memories, congratulations on your victory and in uniting the packs, look around you for the first time ever, everyone is going about their duties and responsibilities together with no ill feelings or hidden agendas. This has always been your dad Alpha Jon's dream" " I am honored to have succeeded in achieving my father's dream. By the way congratulations to you too, you are victorious as well" " Oh, I forgot you are now my son in-law" " please, Alpha Riddick,do not get started on that topic" while we were talking Slyverken and her mom were also chatting animatedly. " By the way,Alpha Riddick, do you have any idea what the ladies are chatting about so excitedly?" "Dear Brian, I have no clue.
