Chapter five

Daemon's Point Of View

Someone would think, Alpha was eager for school but we all knew it was a front. He was eager to meet Catherine, my mate. How childish my Alpha can behave at times is beyond me. Well, as it happens we all dressed alike, which would be funny in any other setting but considering we move as a unit, wearing similar clothes has become a habit for us, we seem to know what the other has in mind to wear. Alpha led the way to the garage, where we all mounted our bikes and rode out of the pack house in style. We were ten minutes to the school, when Lewis opened the mind link' Daemon, Greg from now on wards we have to keep a sharp eye on Alpha. He does not want us know but I know he is worried about the assassins looking for him. At all times, one of us has to be around him always as an added later of security. Is this clear?  Yes Beta,we all responded and closed the link. So, Alpha does not want us to worry. Ok, I will have to keep a discreet watch on him. Two can play this game. But my real problem now was how to convince Catherine to move in, that is going to take alot of talking. But I am up to the challenge.

Brian's Point Of View

Well,as we approached the school gates and as is customary for us, moved in formation, me at the front, Lewis on my flank with Greg and Daemon covering our rear. Classic formation for battle. The school building loomed in front of us,it was huge. A five story building sitting on a five Mile long property, complete with a hospital and training area for each level of students and completely surrounded by woods, a werewolf heaven or paradise. I led the way to the parking lot, parked my bike and secured it,I turned to see Lewis, Daemon and Greg doing same. After which we surveyed the area around us. We were the last to arrive and all conversation going on broke upon our entry. Everyone was watching and assessing us. "Boys, shall we??" They nodded and we left the parking lot with me and Lewis in front and Daemon and Greg taking up the rear. We walked briskly and opened the double doors that led to the school campus. Immediately the door opened a woman was waiting impatiently at the entrance,her face lit up on seeing Daemon and she quickly rushed and enveloped him in a hug. It did not take long to work out this was Catherine, Daemon's mate.

Catherine's Point Of View

I've been waiting here for like thirty minutes and I was getting worried as to why they have not showed up yet,my wolf was not helping matters as she was constantly whining in my head about getting the mating process over with already. I was having a headache and suddenly I smelled it, the delicious aroma of freshly baked pancakes and I knew, Daemon was finally here. I waited for them to enter the building and then enveloped him in a hug. I took a huge whiff of his smell and quickly calmed my nerves. I could feel him relax into the hug. It took a while before someone cleared his throat. I turned and realized his Alpha,Alpha Brian was watching us intently but in a friendly way and two others watching us with their mouths agape. Daemon recovered quickly from his moment of surprise, cleared his throat to get everyone's attention. He quickly introduced me to his Alpha,Beta and Delta. I apologized for showing up unannounced but Alpha Brian just shrugged it off and said it was a normal reaction. We started walking into the building when I asked, Alpha, I hear you have an interest in recruiting new pack members?. Alpha Brian turned around to look me in the eye after exchanging a look with Daemon,who quickly bowed his head. 'Yes, Gamma female I am interested in recruiting new members' Alpha, if I may be so bold, I took the liberty of organizing hundred of the youngest and highly trained, pack less wolves on campus for you to choose from. I can tell this surprised him by the way his eyebrows raised in response. they are currently waiting for you in training ground three and they are eager to meet you as most of the Alphas here look down upon them, they seem thrilled that you are willing to consider them. He seemed to be in deep thought.

Brian's Point Of View

Catherine just dropped a bomb shell on me, without knowing. A hundred wolves who are in various stages of training and pack less,that is news to me. The young Alphas here are not only proud but arrogant as well,they looked upon pack less wolves, well that is going to change soon. I exchanged a look with Lewis only to see him deep in thought. I am sure he was already working out training requirements in his head. Daemon and Greg on the other hand looked thrilled at the prospect of having a hundred warrior wolves on the first day in school. I on the other hand couldn't help but think of a girl I met three years ago. I kept asking myself why I kept thinking about her of late. ' Catherine can you lead the way to training ground three,so we can meet our new pack members and report for lectures,we are on thin ice here and I do not want to draw more attention to us than needed' Certainly Alpha, it is right this way. We turned to the right and walked through another set of doors which opened unto a training ground far superior to any I've ever seen. There doing some stretches were a hundred wolves. Upon our entry, they straighten upped and nodded in our direction. Catherine introduced us to them, immediately I sensed them watching me closely. I must be the youngest Alpha around for they couldn't hide their surprise at seeing me. But I am sure they can feel the power radiating off me was higher than that of my officers. Catherine started talking' Alpha would you like say a few words before the process starts??' "Certainly, Gamma female, as you all know we are a new pack in town,my rules are simple, respect your officers, and no promiscuity. And life should be interesting. You are all welcome to the Vernom claw pack' At this, they all knelt down and bowed to me, pledging their allegiance and loyalty to the pack and me. I felt the power flowing through my veins and opened a mind link to them all including Catherine, from today, no one will look down upon you again, watch out for one another and if there is a situation you need help with, do not hesitate to mind link me or any of the officers here. Now, please rise members of the Vernon Claw Pack. I closed the link and they all rose. " U must be surprised that I accepted you all without asking you to prove yourselves first right? do not worry, I am sure you are all trained and do not worry my Beta, Gamma and Delta, would train you themselves,so there is no rush. Now, my first instructions for you is to keep an eye out for anyone snooping around for info on us, report it to me immediately or any of the officers present. Okay, Gamma Daemon and Delta Greg, would take care of your accommodation, I expect to see you all at the pack grounds today by 6 pm and that includes you Gamma female. Please return back your classes and contact the Gamma and Delta to work out your accommodation. Please you are dismissed.' They all left happy but not before bowing in respect to me. 'okay guys let us go, Daemon, Greg coordinate and make sure, they are well taken care of and settled in at the pack house. Lewis coordinate with Catherine, I want the files on all of them in my office tomorrow. Greg, how are the two extra cars I asked for? Lewis, how are we doing financially??'

Greg's Point Of View

Alpha, the cars are due for delivery in two days and do not worry. They are in good hands. By four pm today, their accommodation should be sorted out, they would be ready for their first training together as a pack by six pm.

Daemon's Point Of View

Alpha, the back ground check on them has already been done by Catherine, it will be on your desk by close of day today. And they will be trained to fight in unit is just as we were trained.

Lewis' Point Of View

Alpha, today I couldn't have been more proud of you. You have proven that you are Alpha Jon's son. He would have been proud of the decisions you have made since becoming Alpha. Financially, we are sound, we have enough funds to buy the latest cars for a thousand pack members and live luxuriously for five years. Also, my informants informed me that a mutual friend of ours will soon be landing here. She seems to be on the tail of the pack or clan coming after us. This got Alpha to stop walking, he turned around and looked me straight in the eye and said' boys looks like we are going to be late for lectures, if we do not get a move on, Cath, how long do we have before the first lesson begins?' Alpha about thirty minutes, you arrived an hour early, the school is just warming up' Thanks'

Chapter six

Brian's Point Of View

Lewis needs to learn he can't go babbling,state secrets when we are outside pack grounds. I mind linked him, Greg, Daemon and Catherine. Beta Lewis, we are outside pack grounds and walls have ears, now speak in clear terms, no beating around the bush. We stood in the cafeteria and behaved like we were having a serious conversation. ' Alpha, my sources just confirmed that, Alpha Riddick's daughter was the first on the scene of the attack,she picked up your scent and knew you were alive. Since then she has been looking for you. Then she found out about the contract price placed on your head. She also realized you are not alone,so she decided to closely monitor the assassins,she picked up they had pin pointed you to be here,so she is coming to help' Lewis did you just say Alpha Riddick's daughter Slyverken? 'yes Alpha and she's Alpha now, since her dad resigned after the attack on our pack' wait,why her what about her elder brother? ' It turns out he and a few warriors engaged the assassins when they arrived on the scene. He did not make it. Slyverken was made Alpha after her dad resigned, she was the one who performed the funeral rights of the whole pack' okay but this complicates things, Catherine I need you to move in with us for now, that is the only way,we can keep you safe. Lewis you mentioned that a pack was coming after me? ' Yes, Alpha, the entire assassin pack numbering about a hundred well trained warrior wolves are coming, it seems they were briefed to not underestimate you,so their leader, decided to attack you using the whole pack.' Okay that makes sense, our warriors are not sufficiently trained to take them on,so they are out of the question. Slyverken's presence may be tricky considering she probably hates me more than any living enemy of mine.' Alpha, if she hates you that much,why bother coming to help you? And what did you do to make her hate you that much if I may ask?' Lewis, I spent the past three years avoiding her, I spent my last year of training in her pack under her dad's supervision,she was the only warrior,who almost defeated me in battle,all that time we fought as wolves, when I realized she was a female,my respect for her grew, little did I know that she was the Alpha's young daughter. I tried keeping things civil between us,as she did not know who I was back then but this girl had other ideas. A night before we were called back from training for our first mission as a unit,she came to my room unannounced and seduced me. I gave in and left at sunrise without saying goodbye as soon as I received my orders to report for duty,ever since we've been undercover and I made sure she never found me even though I knew she would be looking for me. So, you see I have a lot of explaining to do if she realizes am the one she's coming here for. Catherine,am putting you in charge of her situation as soon as she arrives. Lewis take care of her and her team's accommodation, they will be staying at our pack house. I do not care how you do it but convince her to stay there while I work on what to tell her. When is she due to arrive? 'in three days time Alpha'  Okay that buys us some time. Now this meeting is over, let us enjoy our first day on campus before all hell brakes loose on us soon. With that I closed off the link and took a left turn towards the locker room, picked my stuff for the day and turned to see Lewis, Daemon and Greg doing same and Catherine saying goodbye to daemon as she made her way to her office. This is going to be a long day. We arrived in class just as the bell went signaling the start of lectures,we took our seats and the lecture began. I could feel the eyes of all the Alphas in the class on me. They  could feel the power I was radiating and couldn't understand why I had so much power and why I showed up in the middle of the semester. This was going to be a long day for me.

Lewis's Point Of View

Alpha was tense throughout the entire morning lecture, I looked at Daemon and Greg and they both shrugged indicating they could feel the tension radiating off Alpha. Even the other Alphas in the room could feel it. Most were nervously looking around for the source of all the tension. I couldn't place my finger on it but I knew something was bothering Alpha Brian and it was not just the threat of assassins showing up here but it has something to do with Alpha slyverken's sudden appearance in the picture. This next few days are going to be a real test for everyone. I closed my eyes as I sensed someone trying to mind link me. Commander Lewis is that you? Wait, that is impossible my unit subcommander back home. Lee is alive and mindlinking me?? ' it is Beta Lewis to you subcommander Lee, how is it am now hearing from you after three years and two weeks after the attack on our pack?' Sorry Beta Lewis, I've tried to contact you but something seems to be blocking the connection. I presumed you died in the attack, I followed your last instructions to us, protect the pack we were assigned to and train others. It was only a few minutes ago that I found out you are alive after Alpha Brian opened the mind link to all his pack members when he accepted the new pack warriors. You can't imagine my surprise, Alpha Jon's son was alive and rebuilding the pack but under a new name? I quickly contacted the other elite teams subcommander to realize the feeling was mutual. The men are eagerly awaiting your orders. We want permission to report to the new pack house as soon as possible and to meet our new Alpha. 'okay permission granted, inform the other three elite teams subcommander that no one is to directly mind link Alpha Brian, all information is to go through either me, Gamma Daemon or Delta Greg. Is this clear?' Yes Beta, subcommander James is under orders to protect Alpha Slyverken, who also happens to be keeping tabs on the group hired to go after Alpha.'Okay, listen pick 20 of your men and issue the same instructions to the other subcommander, pick twenty of your best men and converge at Alpha Slyverken's pack house and proceed from there and do keep me posted on all your activities. Okay later'  With that I closed the link, now we have an actual army strong enough to take on the assassin pack coming, that is good news.

Daemon's Point Of View

It looks like I am not the only one who received surprise mind link messages from men, we have not heard from in years. One look at Lewis and Greg and I could tell they were struggling with the same thing. Looks like when Alpha Brian opened the mind link this morning, it also affected all our old pack members still alive and in hiding. I mind linked both Lewis and Greg, guys looks like things are going well, our old elite teams are still intact, I wonder why it never crossed my mind to look for them. 'it is because, things happened so fast,all we could do was think of Alpha's security. Talking of which some of these Alphas look like they want to try and attack him' bully him you mean, well let them try, in his current mood, Alpha Brian would destroy them in a giffy and they will not like it. All the same let us keep an eye on things as they play out. 'Okay'  I closed off the link only to see a message from Catherine "things are looking good, the new pack warriors are reporting numerous times that a group seems to be snooping around discreetly for info on Alpha Brian. The other Alphas seem to have developed an interest in the new Alpha on campus as well, I hear the school's Alpha bully is planning a hit on him at lunchtime. Be on the lookout. Love Cath." I immediately mind linked Alpha Brian, Lewis and Greg looks like we made headlines today, everyone is talking about the new Alpha in town, also the school's Alpha bully plans a hit on you Alpha today at lunchtime. "Okay thanks for the heads up, we proceed as planned okay?, let me handle it and Daemon tell Cath to evacuate the cafeteria as soon as I give the signal' yes Alpha. With that he closed the link. This is going to be a long day

Back at home Alpha Slyverken received some surprising news.
