The Ex-Chapter 7 In which he shares his view on things POV-LUCIAN ****************************************** Life is of perception. It"s what you make of it that counts. What we think, our choices affect the future and the happiness you clutch in the end. Our decisions mold us. Create us. Some, we regret or wish we made differently. Because like I said before, at the end they dictate the joy and the person it had made in its place. Deep in thought, I hadn"t heard the door to my office open. "The choices that make us". Memories in this office definitely changed my future and not for the better. Sometimes I wonder if I made the right decision two years ago. Yes I did. No you didn"t. Yes I did, shut it better part of myself. I think I am losing it. Someone cleared their throat, snapping me out of my internal battle against myself. "Um sir I came to remind you of the meeting you have with Ms.White later on in the evening." I nodded my head in response and waited for my assistance to walk out. I turned still sitting on my chair to look at the view outside of my window. The beauty of the sun rising above all the other building and busy traffic below. It was mesmerizing and beautiful. This is why I had my office in this side of the building. Its glow was enough to calm me. The noise of the phone indicating I had a call. I sighed and ran my fingers through the threads of my hair, irritated. Who really wants to annoy me at this time of day. Alessandra. Of course it is, she"s too clingy. "Alessandra, I don"t have time for your games right now." After seeing the caller ID I had picked up, to see what she wanted. "Hello to you too, anyways I heard from your assistant that your meeting my sister later. Is that accurate." I could practically tell she was jealous it isn"t a good quality. Their wasn"t anything to be jealous of anyways. Our old flame was doused years ago on Amara"s part. "Yes Alex, sorry I am just stressed right now I got to do this deal with her for business. I just don"t want to face her, that is all." I pushed a few strands of my hair out of the way of my face. "You want me to come over and relieve the stress." I wasn"t in the mood as of now so I politely declined the offer. "No I just got to get my s**t together and I should be on my way." She huffed disappointed of me denying her. "So tell me what this thing is about then." "The deal well practically it is just a partnership between my company and "L Industries". This benefits my company and my business will skyrocket higher than ever before." This is a good opportunity to do better and nothing will stand in the way of that, not even some petty old flame. "Alright, see you later." The line went dead. I placed my phone on the desk before sticking my head in my palms. ****************************************************** The car drifted to a stop before I told my driver that I would call him when I needed him. He nodded and drove off after I had closed the door upon getting out. I had to admit this building is quite elegant and beautiful. Like the owner. No, not like the owner. Ugh I think I just went nuts. I went passed the glass doors into the hallway. The lady in the desk was looking through her computer with a frown on her face. I cleared my throat to get her attention. She turned and her scowl disappeared and in its place was a wide smile. "Mr.Bello?" Her face then molded into one of seriousness and question. "Yes, where can I find Am.. I mean Ms.White"s office." I kept a blank face, emotionless some would say. I think of it as not revealing emotion. "Follow me this way please." She led the way. Corridor after corridor we reached and elevator. "Floor 30 the door after the waiting room. I nodded in understanding I got in the machine that makes the trip faster, the lady then walked away to her desk I assume. The ding indicated that I had reached my destination. I remember the directions and found the door to be opened I leaned against the door frame. Her attention was elsewhere I cleared my throat for another time today. She faced me and her eyes instantly widened in surprise I guess she didn"t remember the meeting today. My eyes traveled to the toddler that was busy playing with her toys. My mind went to the worse. Is this his kid that bastard of a brother. That made me angry. How could he do that and still sleep at night. As if she knew what I was thinking "Its My friends kid she was busy today and asked me to take care of her." She explained in my head I was relieved. "You don"t need to explain anything to me. I came here to do business not catch up." I bit back harshly. I still held a grudge. Remember you"re here for the better. Dont blow up. "Right of course um... well take a seat." She signaled to the chair opposite of hers and across the desk. The girl looked at me with confusion as did I to her. She thought nothing of it because she continued to play with her toys. I sat waiting for her to say something worthy of my time. When she didn"t say anything I decided to speak instead. "So business, what do you have in mind for both our companies future." I stared intently at her patient for anything to come out of her mouth. "Well I was thinking if we enforce this a little more." A poster was then present in my face. A gleam in her eyes all signs of nerves gone. "This will increase our profits in both our companies, it is a win win situation." I saw what she was talking about how come I never thought about something like this. She was fairly intelligent. But I already knew this. "I like the idea it"s smart then of course so are you i have known that." I frowned remembering the decision she made to cheat on me, now that wasn"t very smart. I tilted my head to the side like I usually did when I was happy or angry this time it"s the latter. "But not smart enough to know not to cheat." I finished I was seeing red at this point. "And yes that includes my brother. How could you? I loved you." My eyes flicked and then to her quickly. Her eyes were red as if she was about to drop and cry her life away. It hurt to see her this way even after everything. "I know that deep down you know it"s not true." She really wanted me to believe her that whatever happened between her and my brother didn"t happen at all. I knew better. I did. "You know what, I never loved you anyways I am happier than I ever have been. I have a wonderful fiance." Again my eyes went to the floor then to her. When I did those words were what pushed her over the edge. She cried. I looked away this was the only thing that made me weak. The girl sensing the tense atmosphere turned to Amara. "Mama." Amara picked her up. I was going to say something but she cut in instead. "Her only words." She had a poker face on now. "If that"s all i would like you to get the hell out of my office if you don"t mind." That"s all I needed I walked away and shut the door. I was going to call my driver but decided I needed the walk. I punched the wall which left a dent. I will pay for it. The rain outside made me cool down both emotionally and physically. God knew I needed that. -MORE CHAPTERS ON WATTPAD
