Chapter 1: School Trip

1072 Words
Summer at Hill top high school meant a class trip for the final year students. It was a time when everyone made preparations for their two week long trip. It also meant a time to hang out and have fun. This year the school had planned a trip to the National space research center to  educate their students on the mysteries of Universe.   It was just a few days away till the trip when Aslan had received a call that  his parents had been involved in an accident which had robbed them of their lives. With no one left to call family in the world he was all alone. The only person he had left was his faithful butler, Alfred.   Unlike others he came from an extremely wealthy family and had everything he wanted. To the others he was just another rich kid. Only his friends knew how he was, despite his immense wealth  he wasn’t arrogant or proud. He had made reservations for Alfred to come with him on the trip. Sitting out in the garden at night he wished upon a shooting star to be  “Isekaied” to another world just like he had read in many light novels. Little did he know what was in store for him.   On the day of the trip he arrived with Alfred in his private car. It took about seven hours to get to the research center from the school. Upon arrival they were lodged in a hotel in the research center. Aslan and his four friends took a stroll round the garden area of the hotel. “What would you do if you were transported to another world with magic and stuff?”  Aslan said to his friends. “Hmm, that depends. Would it be a peaceful world or a war torn one?”  Dylan, a sport loving guy said. “For me the first thing I’d do is get to know my skills better, train them then level up.”  Trevor, a game loving, handsome guy said. “Come on guys, get real. We all know that wouldn’t happen,  but if it did then I’d rather be a magic archer with high defense.”  Jessica, the archery club president said. “Well for me I’d be with you guys, have fun and survive till the end.”  Kana, the cheerful one said. “I’d love to do all that and more.” Aslan said. “Let’s head back to our rooms, anyone wanna play some games at my place?” Aslan said smiling brightly.  Back at the hotel Aslan and the guys played a multiplayer  shooting game before heading back to their individual rooms. As he slept he dreamt of himself being transported another world,  surrounded by bizarre scenes all around. By the time he woke up it was already morning. The students had breakfast in the hotel restaurant and went on a tour round the Research center.                              It was a fifty square kilometer area with basic living quarters, a hotel, a park, Gymnasium and rocket launch site. A week had gone by like a flash and the teacher in charge of managing the appointment received a call  that the main research center would host them in the next three days.     The three days seemed like forever as the students all waited patiently for the exhibition. The students woke to a grand meal as the chairman of the center  treated them to an all you can eat buffet to make up for the time he took to host them. After their meal they headed to research center in a specially constructed  vehicle which seemed to float above the ground. It looked like a train and car combined, with speed reaching over fifty miles per second.     The students could barely handle the speed, while some like Aslan,  his friends and some others sat like it was nothing. The chairman then spoke to them saying “This levitating shuttle was made with the  Japanese bullet train in mind. It works on the principle of superconductor levitation, and is built with speed  surpassing that of a standard race car.”     He spoke until they had reached the location.  It took less than five minutes to get from the hotel to the main center.  The thought of having to walk such a distance ever in their life scared the living day light out of them. Upon getting to the center the students were amazed at the sheer size and structure of the complex. It looked like something straight out of a fantasy novel (this is a fantasy novel though XD).  It had a skyscraper which looked far sophisticated to exist in modern time.  The launch pad itself was as big as five football fields;  the skyscraper had a circular building which connected both the left and right wing of  the building to it. It served as a sort of entrance, lobby, gallery, and museum.  The middle of the buildings served as a test site which housed huge machines. Experiments were going on in the middle of the buildings, in what seemed like a dome shaped structure  with a huge telescope sticking out from it. It served as both an observatory and a test site. It was capable of accommodating over two hundred people with extra machinery. The chairman called the observatory (let’s call it that, can’t think of a better name)  and they let us in. While inside, it looked so sophisticated and futuristic that all the students  could do was stare in awe.  There were all sorts of experiments going on at once.       Aslan looked to his left and saw what seemed to look like a black hole generator  which he had once seen in a movie. He walked up to the chairman and asked what it was. The chairman looked at the machine and smiled saying, “It is exactly what you think it to be. We’ve been  working on it for over fifteen years and finally we’ve made this  prototype version for testing and we planned on testing it today, you all are in luck to witness the  creation of a man made black hole. Here at the NSRC (National Space Research Center)  we bring to life what could only be done in science fiction.”
