Chapter 2: A Rip in Space

1082 Words
Experiments were going on in the middle of the buildings, in what seemed like a dome shaped structure  with a huge telescope sticking out from it. It served as both an observatory and a test site. It was capable of accommodating over two hundred people with extra machinery. The chairman called the observatory (let’s call it that, can’t think of a better name)  and they let us in. While inside, it looked so sophisticated and futuristic that all the students  could do was stare in awe.  There were all sorts of experiments going on at once.       Aslan looked to his left and saw what seemed to look like a black hole generator  which he had once seen in a movie. He walked up to the chairman and asked what it was. The chairman looked at the machine and smiled saying, “It is exactly what you think it to be. We’ve been  working on it for over fifteen years and finally we’ve made this  prototype version for testing and we planned on testing it today, you all are in luck to witness the  creation of a man made black hole. Here at the NSRC (National Space Research Center)  we bring to life what could only be done in science fiction.”      After taking the students round the observatory, the chairman signaled to the technicians and scientists  to get ready for the test run of the black hole generator. He called out to the students saying, “We’ve come to the conclusion of this tour, but before you return  back to your lodgings we have one last demonstration for you all. We’re about to make history today and you all have the privilege to be part of that history.  We’re about to do what man has dreamt of doing for the past thirty years and uncover  the secrets of the phenomenon called a black hole. Yes, you guessed right. We’re about to create a black hole here today with our latest and most  worthwhile invention which we spent over fifteen years researching and building. To the future inventors  here today, I say; Welcome to the future.”         After his speech the generators went online and gave off a sort of hissing noise which signaled the  collapse of a micro star the size of a ping pong ball within the machine and the birth of a black hole. As the micro star collapsed, the gas it gave off was pulled inward under its own gravity and created a suction force so strong that not even light could escape its pull. The students were astonished with what was before their very eyes. The A.I installed within the  observatory began monitoring the progress of the black hole formation. As it was about reaching completion, the force of the black hole grew so strong that not even  the machine could keep it in check. It went out of its containment unit and grew bigger in size eventually coming in contact with the tachyon  particle container which sped it up past the speed of light, eventually causing the very fabric of space- time itself to tear apart. Everything within a 1 kilometer radius was dragged into the space-time rift leaving behind a huge hole in  the complex. The space-time rift had made a connection between the universe of the students and a seriously bizarre  one with unimaginable things.  It left the living organisms in one piece but tore all inanimate objects to shreds. They were transported to a planet five times the size of the earth, the new universe was fundamentally  different from theirs so the universe had to restructure their bodies to be able to adapt to this new world.     All living beings in the foreign universe had a game like user interface “like that of a standard MMORPG.  (Massive multiplayer online role playing game, for the {none weebs} who don’t know what it means)” It showed the information of individuals as well as their jobs, age, race, skills, etc.  The special information could also be hidden to protect the individual.  It also showed the level of the individual, with a max level of a thousand. The students alongside their  teachers and the researchers had been reconstructed with the user interface integrated in them.  After the integration they were instantly teleported to their new home planet Stargate,  which was the third planet from the sun and the sister planet of Asteroth in the Tiperion solar system of  the Caligran galaxy.     They arrived at one of the four human super continents; Saden, which was also a neutral zone for all  species, at the Institute of Specialized Battle Personnel (ISBP). It was an institute that served as a school for mercenaries, soldiers, and individual fighters. Upon arrival  they were immediately welcomed as if they had been expecting them for ages. They were ushered into a large building by what appeared to be a female elf with a busty figure, where  they met the head of the facility; Duke Ivon Reghel. He was a blue haired man who appeared to be in his  late forties.  He had a medium build and appeared to be about six feet tall. From his dressing one could  make out that he was a mage (magician/sorcerer) as he held a staff which had a light blue gem floating  above it in his hands. “Welcome, my name is Magistrate Ivon Reghel the head of ISBP. It has been brought to our notice by the  god of mystery; Antiona Von Melphis, that we would be receiving humans from another universe.”Duke  Ivon said.     “We have been awaiting your arrival for a month. Please note that there is no possibility of returning to  your original universe, though you have an option of choosing to bring one thing from your original  universe. The black hole which tore through the fabric of space-time and brought you here interfered with the  fabric of origin of your universe and caused you to cease to exist in that universe. The option of bringing one thing over is only possible due to the intervention of the high gods, any more  than that and they could be discovered by the other gods in your universe which could spark a multiverse  war.” Duke Ivon said as he walked up to a super computer inscribed with a tier seven magic circle.
