Torn Between Hearts

Love can scorch the soul and leave you breathless.

Seventeen-year-old Andria Knight’s flawless Seattle world shatters when two impossibly different boys ignite her senses.

Ryder was once just a face in the crowd—a childhood friend of her brother’s who never saw her at all. Now, his gaze lingers on her with a fierce intensity, as if he’s discovering every curve, every secret he ignored before. His quiet heat makes her pulse thunder.

Asher arrived like a storm—dark, dangerous, and impossible to resist. He moves close, his voice low and teasing, fingertips brushing her arm in passing. Every word he whispers against her skin sets her nerves alight.

Torn between Ryder’s smoldering rediscovery and Asher’s magnetic darkness, Andria plunges into a world of searing passion and hidden truths. Each stolen kiss and heated touch draws her deeper into a web of desire and deception—where choosing one could destroy the other… and the life she thought she knew.

When love is a battlefield of heartbeats and lies, can she survive the fire?

chapter 1
Hello guys. This is my second book.If you don't like the way the story is going or if it doesn't look fascinating to you, please just skip it. I've seen a lot of people post on w*****d and receive terrible comments. Please don't do that. This book has an 18+ rating. Thank you. Alexandria's pov Hey there! So, Monday morning rolls around, and my phone starts ringing. I groggily reach over to answer it, and it's my BFF Mona. "Hey, buddy!" she chirps, way too enthusiastically for this early in the morning. "Good morning, Mona. My night was fine, thanks for asking," I mutter, still trying to wake up. "Sorry, sorry! I know it's early, but I just couldn't wait to talk to you! Did you do anything fun yesterday?" Mona asks, always eager to dish. "Nah, not really. Just hung out with family and watched a movie. You know, the usual," I reply, starting to feel a bit more awake. "Ah, cool! I went shopping with my mom and got some new clothes. You have to see them! Oh, and guess what? I saw Xander at the mall, and he looked so cute!" Mona gushes. "Ugh, Mona, you're such a fangirl! But yeah, my brother is pretty charming, I'll give him that," I say with a laugh. After our quick catch-up, I drag myself out of bed and start getting ready for school. I'm feeling a bit more alive after a refreshing shower, and I dress in my fave black leather skirt and red cropped top. I style my long brown hair and add a bit of makeup - just enough to make me look like I'm not a total zombie. Downstairs, Mom's already cooking up a storm in the kitchen. "Good morning, Mom!" I say, giving her a quick peck on the cheek. "Hey, sweetie! How are you today?" she asks, flipping pancakes like a pro. "I'm good, Mom. Just a bit sleepy. But hey, your cooking is always a great wake-me-up!" I reply, snagging a pancake off the griddle. Just then, my twin brother Xander bursts into the kitchen, looking like he just stepped out of a fashion mag. "Good morning, dear family!" he announces, flashing his pearly whites. "Ugh, Xander, you're so extra," I tease, rolling my eyes good-naturedly. "Hey, someone's got to bring the charm around here!" he says, winking at me. Mom ignores our banter and focuses on serving up a delicious breakfast spread. My tummy's growling just thinking about it! After fueling up, Mona picks me up in her sleek Bugatti. yes, she's a total babe! and we cruise to school in style. As we stroll to our lockers, I stumble upon a pile of love notes. "You should read them this week," Mona suggests, her eyes sparkling with mischief. "Ugh, Mona, you know I'm not into that sappy stuff. Besides, I have my eyes on someone," I say, blushing a bit. "Oh, who? Spill the tea, girl!" Mona demands, always up for some juicy gossip. "Maybe later, Mona. Let's just say it's someone in our school... and he's totally gorgeous," I hint, feeling a bit fluttery in my chest. As we head to our first class - History - which, let's be real, is so not my fave, Mona and I continue to chat about everything from our favorite TV shows to our plans for the weekend. Mrs. Nelly's voice is like a lullaby, and I find myself zoning out sorry, not sorry! Carl, the chatty guy with glasses, sits next to me, asking questions that have nothing to do with the lesson. I tune him out and daydream instead. Next up - P.E - my fave class, where I get to ogle the cute guys Kyle, included! Mona and I change into our sports gear, and I run into Kelly and Arielle in the locker room. They're already planning the prom theme (um, isn't it a bit early for that?), and I suggest an "under the sea" theme. "That's so cool, Andria! I love it!" Kelly exclaims. "Yeah, it would be so much fun! We could have a photo booth with ocean props and everything!" Arielle adds, getting excited. As we head to P.E, I'm feeling a bit more energized - maybe it's the prospect of seeing Kyle in his athletic gear? Hey, a girl can dream, right? "Hey, Andria, what's up?" Kyle asks, flashing me a smile as we walk onto the court. "Not much, Kyle. Just trying to survive another Monday," I reply, feeling a bit shy but also happy to see him. "Well, I'm glad I get to see you in P.E, then. You're always so cute in your sports gear," he says, making me blush. "Have you seen Xander around?" Kyle asks, looking around the court with a charming smile. "Yeah, he's at football practice right now. Why, do you need him for something?" I reply, trying to sound casual despite my heart racing. Kyle takes a step closer, his eyes locked on mine. "Oh, no reason. I just wanted to see if he was around. But since he's not... maybe you can keep me company instead?" Mona's eyes widen in shock, and she looks like she's about to pass out. "Uh, Kyle, you're... flirting with Andria," she says, as if she can't believe it. I blush, feeling a flutter in my chest. "Uh, no, Kyle, I don't think so. My brother would kill me if I hung out with you." Kyle chuckles, his eyes sparkling with amusement. "Oh, come on, Andria. I'm not that bad. And besides, I think Xander would approve. He knows I'm a good guy." I roll my eyes, trying to hide my smile. "Yeah, right. You're a total charmer, Kyle. But I'm not falling for it." Mona steps in, her voice stern. "Kyle, leave her alone. She's not interested." Kyle holds up his hands in mock surrender. "Okay, okay. I was just trying to be friendly. No need to get defensive, Mona." As we head to our next class, Mona turns to me and whispers, "Girl, what's going on with you and Kyle? He's never flirted with anyone like that before." I shrug, trying to play it cool. "I have no idea, Mona. But I'm not interested in him, so it doesn't matter." Mona raises an eyebrow. "You're not interested? Really? Because it looked like you were enjoying the attention." I blush, feeling a bit guilty. "Okay, fine. Maybe I was enjoying it a little. But that doesn't mean I'm interested in him romantically." During P.E period, Kyle gets paired with Sienna Thompson, and they start flirting shamelessly. I try to focus on the game, but I can't help sneaking glances at them. "Hey, Andria, you're not bad for a beginner," Kyle says, as he passes me the ball. I nod, feeling a bit self-conscious. "Thanks, Kyle. I try my best." Sienna rolls her eyes, her voice dripping with condescension. "Please, Andria. You think you can keep up with us? You're just a... Knight in shining armor, waiting to be rescued." Kyle gives her a warning look. "Sienna, that's enough." I bristle at her tone, but Mona intervenes before things escalate. "Hey, hey, let's not fight, guys. We're all on the same team here." As we walk out of the gym, I can't help but feel a twinge of jealousy. Why did Kyle have to be with Sienna, of all people? Mona notices my expression and nudges me. "Hey, girl, don't look so glum. You're way better than Sienna Thompson. And besides, Kyle's not worth your time. He's just a player, and he'll break your heart if you're not careful." I sigh, shaking my head. "I know, Mona. But it's just... he's so charming, and he's always flirting with me. And now he's with Sienna, of all people. It just feels like he's rubbing it in my face." Mona puts an arm around my shoulders. "Don't worry, Andria. You're not alone. We'll get through this together." I trudged to the girls' locker room after PE, still sweaty from our game. But my exhaustion vanished when I stumbled upon Kyle, my secret crush, making out with Sienna. I felt like I'd been punched in the gut. They were so engrossed in each other that they didn't even notice me standing there, frozen in shock.
