Jake and Caleb Heartwell, sons of Americas angel, June heartwell. Now these boys never had a hard life really. They dont remember much from before they moved to NYC. Unfortunately that also means they forgot about having a sister. The forgot about their Star.
When first arriving to NYC, June didn't have much. The only thing she had was enough to purchase a studio appointment in a run-down part of the neighborhood. The job she was able to get was waitressing at the local Diner, double even sometimes triple shifts just to make sure her and her boys had what they needed.
After a few years, June was still working as a waitress. The boys, who had started school nearby, where lucky enough that the diner owner let them hang around as their mother worked until the end of her shift. Now at 7 the boys where growing out of the clothes like nothing, but June always made sure that they never went without.
Now one particular day June was working her regular shift with her boys in the booth scarfing down a plate of fries. Now normally June would wear a hat while she worked since her particular hair color would always cause a commotion with the customers. But on this day while washing out to start her day she forgot her had at home. So her Loosely cherry red hair was out for everyone to see. And on that day a Miss Millie Reynolds was walking by, and caught sight of Junes red hair
Now Millie Reynolds was the top photoghraper in NYC. All the too magazines always went to her for either her shots or her input. Seeing June's red hair captured Millies intrest. With no delay She walked right up to June an introduced herself.
To say June was startled was an understatement. "We are doing a photo shoot and i would greatly love for you to come down and model for us. If chosen you will be paid greatly and might have a future career with us." Millie started without any hesitation.
June looked back to her boys and softly smiled. "I greatly appreciate the Ms. Reynolds. But I dont seem to have the time. My boys are my number one and I dont have a sitter so i will have to pass." Millie looked to the boys june was watching and smiled softly.
"Tell you what. Come to this address with your boys. And i know we can make some magic happen. Please just think about it." Millie handed her a card with a time and date. June thanked her and took the card. Millie smiled and left just as quickly as she came in.
Now June disnt know what to expect. She got someome to cover her shift while she made her way to the shoot. Once there Millie ushered her in and began work instantly. For the first few pictures where nuteral kid friendly. Mostly picnic shots and playground shots. Next was more formal. With June in a pire white ball ball gown and her hair in loose curls, the boys complemented her in dark blue and black suites.
At the end of the day Millie insisted on June keeping the outfits. June was shocked.
"Hunny if these pictures are as great as i know they are. You have a very beautiful future for you and your boys." Millie smiled knowingly.
The next week or so flew by and one day June recieved a package. Junes eyes widened and almost dropped the magazine. On the front cover was her and her boys. The bright white ball gown flowed behind her. Her boys on either side holding onto to jer hands. Shakily she opened the note that came with it.
"I told you a bright future. The company wants to hire you if you are intrested and tired of waiting on people. Call me soon."
June called Millie and soon she was signing a deal with NYC TopModel and Millie as her personal photographer. Leaving the building with a blinding smile she made her way home. In her room she sat on her bed and took out a small picture.
"Soon Star. I'll be strong enough and with your brothers. We will come for you. I promise." June put the picture back in her drawer. June took a deep breathe and for once relaxed. Everything will work out now.
Now getting older, Jake and Caleb understood that having a model for a mom there was going to be unwanted attention sometimes. Adding into the fact they modeled with their mother they had even more exposure. After the first few photo shoots June had enough to move them morw uptown into a bigger place.
Saying the Heartwell family is famous is a understatement. June quickly rose to the top along with her boys. June always stayed humbled true to who she was. She also made sure her boys did too. She kept them in public school even though sometimes it was a bit much but they pulled through.
When the boys got to high school they made only a few real friends. Austen Davis a quirky boy who always seemed to be writing. Andrea Johnson, who had a habit of beating on every surface she can, and mayne even a face or two. And then there was Vincent Thomas. A sullen boy who every one thinks ia depreased but the group knew he was just moody and sensitive and that was ok for them.
Now with their mom taking a break from the spotlight and modeling. Left her more time for charity events and such. Now the group of friends decided to put togerher a band. Yea a bit cliched, but the boys loved music, so when they brought the idea up to their mom, she agreed to let them play at a few of her functions. With Austen writing their songs they always had something new with each function.
Jake and Caleb enjoyed playing with their group The Intrest. At one particular event June introduced her sons to a producer she met in one of her sets.
"Well fellas. I gotta say that was one heck of a show."
"Thank you sir." Jake said.
The producer smiled. "Im Jerry. From Diamond records." He introduced.
Jake and Caleb grow wide eyed.
"When do you boys graduate?" He asked.
"End of this year sir." They replied.
"Great well how about you fellas come by the day after and see of we can put something together." Jerry smilled, shook their hands and walked away with June smilimg beside him.
Jake and Caleb couldnt believe that happened. The grinned and looked to the others. The next monet they were cheering and hugging.
The twins grinned. They were finally going to make their own way now.
Things where going well for the boys after graduation they had their deal. A year later a record selling album and another year of touring. And then the day they got the phone call. The day their mother got sick.
