Chapter 36

1248 Words

Natalia I am frozen in place, just waiting for David's next move. "Are you not going to come inside?" I don't dare move. I look up at the sky. Hoping for something to save me, because I know no-one is coming. The sky is gloomy. Just like my mood. All of a sudden, there is a loud noise that sounds like thunder and lightning in the sky. It sounds like the sky is revolting. It doesn't want me to go inside either. "Come inside, Natalia. Looks like it is going to start raining soon," David moves to the side to welcome me in. I dread having to go inside. I thought a home should be a safe place, yet my home hasn't felt safe in a long time. The door slams shut, and the lock is clicked a second later. I gulp. "Natalia. You're home," my mom walks over holding a couple of things in her hands.
