I wake up to sounds of banging on the wall and yelling. It sounds like things are being thrown around. I can hear mom and David going at it. I quickly get dressed and make sure I listen, in case my mother needs help. I will always defend my mother no matter what. I grab my books and my backpack, and I leave my room and go to the living room.
"You have no say, David. She is going to school. We said when she turns 18, and she isn't even 18 yet," Mom shouts. "She is about to be. Might as well start preparing her now. I can show her how things will change in just a couple of days. I know we said until the day she turns 18, but this needs to happen now. It's for the best, and you know it," David shouts back.
