Backstage, I was in a flurry of nerves. I looked around as all of the other acts prepared themselves and socialized. A few of them wished me luck and I did the same. Although I was part of the show, I was still in charge of making sure the other acts made it to the stage.
The program seemed to be doing really well. So far, we had a lot of the locals showing up. The seats were nearly filled. Brandon, Amir’s beta, was first up. He was doing a juggling act and I couldn’t suppress my laughter. Of course he would be doing that.
The audience rippled in laughter as he danced and juggled. Next up was An opera singer. Listen, I wasn’t in charge of picking that’s, that was all Kai. But as the acts dwindled I became anxious. My name was finally called and I couldn’t get my feet to move.
