Okay, so senior year at Blue Crest- Omega Campus was supposed to be easy. I was at the Top of the class with my invisibility cloak firmly in place – exactly how I planned. Then BAM! An earthquake strikes, and suddenly, the Elite Campus crumbles and our small campus has to make room for the elites, putting all of us in a state of discomfort. Talk about a disaster! Now, instead of hiding in the library, I'm somehow... on the council? (No, seriously, who voted for me?!)

And the attention? Ugh. It's so unwanted! Not to mention my newly found libido! I seriously got it bad guys. I find myself crushing hard on not only one, but three different guys! My childhood bestie Kai (he turned hot this semester!), the ridiculously charming Beta, Elijah (seriously, the hottest guy I’ve ever seen and he’s interested in me?!), AND... oh, gods... Amir. Alpha Amir. Campus bully Amir. He's got this whole hot-and-cold thing going on that makes my brain short-circuit.

But y’all, that’s not even the worst part. I'm wolf-less! Like, completely wolf-less. Just a regular, awkward, definitely-not-supposed-to-be-on-the-council Omega, desperately trying to keep my secret from exploding in my face.

Oh, and did I mention I can't trust ANYONE? Turns out my parents are hiding things too. So here I am: battling unwanted attention, a chaotic council, a crush trifecta, and a devastating secret, all while trying to figure out who I am, and who I can trust!

Wish me luck, y’all. Goddess knows I’m going to need it!

Chapter 1: The Fall of BC Elite
Screams ripped through the air as the ground shook violently underneath me. Terror clung to me like a second skin. The world as we knew it was falling apart around me, and all I could do was run. Kai ran along side me, hand in mine. I didn’t look around or behind me; there was no use. I knew the Diner I loved so much would be no more the second those old photos that clung to the walls came crashing down. I knew there was nothing I could do to stop the outcome. As I reached the open door of what once was my favorite place in the world, I lost my footing. Out of instinct, I let go of Kai’s hand, and I threw my arms out to catch myself as I fell through the doorway. A new pang of fear swelled in my chest as I realized that the floor that was once under me, was now gone. I didn’t lose my footing; the floor that was once beneath my feet had now crumbled and was no more. With that understanding, I was no longer trying to catch my fall but was holding on for dear life to the bit of floor that was left. Kai immediately jumped into action. “Gabi, I got you!” His voice was panicked. Grabbing hold of my arms, he began to pull me up. My heart was pounding so hard, I could hear it in my ears. Why is this happening? What is happening? My mind ran frantically as I tried to make sense of it all. I sat and stared in horror at the scene in front of me. Everything was just gone... It was all just... Gone, and all that was left was a massive gaping hole in its place. “Gabi, look!” Kai was facing the direction of the Elite campus. Outside, chaos unfolded. I couldn’t believe my eyes. Blue Crest Elite was collapsing. Students sprinted, desperate to escape the collapsing structures while Kai held onto me, keeping me as stable as he could. The ground was still shaking underneath us. Their screams filled the air, causing something inside of me to take charge. I immediately ran in the direction of BC Elite and tried to help as many people as I could. "Is everyone okay?" I yelled, as I moved closer to the buildings, dodging debris as it fell around us. "Get away from the buildings!" someone barked. Kai pulled me closer, shielding me as a piece of concrete tumbled to the ground nearby. "We have to get out of here!" I nodded, adrenaline coursing through my veins. We raced toward the grassy quad. Alphas and Betas surged through the crowd. Their faces were a mix of shock and anger. I immediately became aware that we were completely surrounded by wolves who out ranked us. Both Kai and I must have had the same realization because he gripped my hand tightly and began to sprint back in the direction of our own campus. *** I hunched over my textbook in a secluded corner of the library. This spot had become my safe haven here at BCU (omega campus). It was one of the only places aside from my dorm where I could have peace and quiet. I inhaled deeply. Outside the window, the faint sounds of yelling and excited giggles danced around like soft waves splashing against the surface. I never understood how others could be so free like that. In my pack, as an Omega, it was a bit hard to be that free. It was like any place you stepped, someone was waiting to order you around or remind you just how worthless you were. What I’ve learned here from eavesdropping in the girls bathroom was that it was rare to find a pack that still mistreated their omegas for sport. It was an old custom and most packs had adjusted to modern society. Unfortunately, Silver Dawn didn’t get the memo. "Gabi!" Kai's voice pulled me from my thoughts. He rushed in, his hair was tousled as if he had just woken up from a nap. "Hey," I murmured, a smile creeping across my face. His presence always brought warmth to me. He was by best friend, and the only other person here whom I trusted. "Got any plans for the weekend?" He plopped down across from me. His eyes gleamed with hope. I shrugged, returning my gaze to the textbook. "Just studying for finals. You?" he ignored my question. "Maybe we could grab some food or something." He scratched the back of his neck, a nervous habit I recognized all too well. “Right now?” I asked. He shrugged his shoulders. “Why not?” I paused for a moment, weighing the idea. "Wouldn’t that distract you from your studies?" "C'mon, you're not a distraction." He leaned closer, lowering his voice. "Besides, I need you to go half on the order." I tossed my textbook at him, and he dodged it, causing it to drop to the floor in a loud thud that echoed through the library. He wore the most infectious smile. I couldn’t refuse him when he smiled like this, and he knew it. He quickly retrieved my textbook from the floor and brought it back to me. “Fine! Let’s get a move on it.” I announced as I placed it neatly into my bag. He nodded before glancing out the window. "Looks like a storm's rolling in." I followed his gaze. Dark clouds gathered, blocking the golden rays of the sun. It was definitely about to rain. "I hope it’s nothing to worry about," I said. After last week’s disaster, the last thing we needed was more bad weather. Kai took my pack away from me and casually tossed it over his shoulder as we exited the library. We made our way towards the cafeteria. The cafeteria was packed with people. It was more than usual. "What's happening?" I gasped, scanning the chaos. “I have no clue.” Kai stated as he guided me through the crowd. He had me stand in the line to order the food while he found us an empty spot. I would have preferred to order and go back to the library, but the weather looked bad outside, and I didn’t want to make Kai have to walk through it. He hated the rain. I was finally at the front to order when Kai came rushing up to me. "They're merging with us," he muttered, eyes wide. "What? Who?” I asked. "The Elite!" His eyes mirrored the horror in his voice. “Seriously?” I asked shocked. He nodded, fear coloring his expression. "We won't survive this." The storm seemed to echo his words, howling through the trees as if mocking our current situation.
